    We used to have 5 raised beds. My wife is the gardener, but her Parkinson's Disease has progressed so that she can no longer go down to the garden. This year I decided to get some grow bags and have here work with the bags on our deck (she is in a wheelchair). I have watched several videos regarding the bags, and yours is by far the vest. Thank you.

    I grow determinate tomatoes in 7-10 gallon grow pots and they do great. I succession plant them throughout the Spring, summer and fall.

    You could earn affiliate marketing commissions by posting where to purchase those grow bags, soil and tomato cages you have

    A good quality woven landscape fabric will not suffocate the soil and works really well.

    Would you only plant one plant per bag? I have the 7.5 and the 25 gallon dirt pots as well as another brand, same material, that has 4 pockets and fits over a rail. I plan to plant my smaller herbs in the pocket one (oregano, thyme, etc) and I also have rosemary, cilantro, and parsley that I plan to put in the 7.5 gal one. I have two tomato plants. One is a cherry tomato, and one is a Better Girl. Can they both go in the 25 gal one? These will be on a deck as that is the only sunny location I have in a yard that is almost all shade due to huge maple trees. Do they need to be lifted off the deck somehow in order to drain correctly? Thanks for all your help. I love these Garden Minutes and I love NEON!

      @cindy I plant two sungolds in my large 20 gal pot. They've done great. This is my 5th yr planting in fabric pots and I will never go back to clay pots or plastic. Good luck.

      Depends on the type of tomato. Smaller, more determinate types are good in 10 gals or so. Bigger indeterminate types, really need the larger size. We put them directly on a deck also, no issues there. Thanks for watching!

      @@digil4509 Sungolds are indeterminates right? Big bushes? So you're using a 20 gallon grow bag / fabric pot and it fits both? That sounds awesome, I'm gonna try it this year!

    Do you tend to just let the soil sit in the pots outside over winter and the refluff and amend the following spring?

    • @GardenMinutes
      @GardenMinutes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
