Matt, My brother and i were there on the same weekend- we rode through on your rainy day. I was on my 18 Heritage that I bought from you! He bought a bike from your dad back in the day. I agree- GNP and the southern loop back to the west side were some of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in this country. I can’t wait to go back with my wife to do some of the hikes over a few days.
Wow, what a masterpiece. As someone who has a BFA in photography, Matt, your cinemaphotography is on point. Your narration, editing, and soulful way of telling a story is beautiful. What an amazing 38 minutes of cinema. Slow clap.
As soon as you retire, elders in your life will have health problems needing your supervision, grandkids need a place too live, when those are straightened, you'll have a health problem. Ride Now. Retirement can be hard work.
Getting ready to retire soon and told myself my whole career I'm going to buy a Harley-Davidson retirement gift and take trips like these. I've never been as inspired than I was after I watched this and your Yosemite video. This is exactly the life I want to enjoy my retirement years. Keep up the wonderful content and keep me inspired until I can get 2 wheels under me and make my own inspiration.
I just moved to Montana in August 2021. I just did the "Going to the Sun Road" on September 10th by car entering from Saint Mary's East glacier Park side. Stopped at all the turnouts seeing Rising Sun, Sun point nature trail, Wild goose Island, Jackson Glacier Overlook, Siyeh Bend, Weeping wall, Avalanche creek, Lake McDonald Falls, Lake McDonald, ended at West Glacier Park. Was amazing. Stopped at Logan pass but parking lot was full. Wanted soooo badly to hike Logan's pass. Since I live here now in this beautiful state I plan on going again before they close the 50 mile scenic drive in Mid October. I read it's only open June to October because of weather/snow. Absolutely gorgeous ❤️
Matt, dang you are NAILING it with these “short films”!!! These are the kinds of vlogs that motivate people to get away from the “noise” in life, get away from Corporate America, the nasty news on TV every night, to go buy the bike, and see this epic landscape we’ve all been blessed to experience. These journeys either solo or with the right company, really remind us what’s important in life and make for great story telling for all the years to come. The camping, the photo ops, the huckleberry pie, the weather, the elements, the wildlife, the big sky, the chatter. Man I REALLY appreciate these types of vlogs, and few narrate and do it as well as you… Glacier, Death Valley, Zion… providing great feedback to those buying bikes in finding the right ride for their riding style, and great intel on all the destinations to consider… I had that perfect moment as you pointed out so well and I never thought of it that way, but an early morning ride out of Telluride, leading a few guys after a big breakfast, on our way to a little town called Ridgeway, on our way to Aspen. No traffic, refreshing brisk weather, epic scenery, not riding hard following a long day of more than 540 miles, there was that relaxing moment where you think, “man, riding doesn’t get any better than this”. Great stuff Matt, you’re causing me to reflect and get long winded! Lol.
Living life. This is what it’s about. Friends, Family, absolutely great bikes, places to soak up and cherish. Life is short. Just buy the bike. Ride safe and ride often. Peace.
I was riding out west from Ohio for a month . Visited every national park I could except for Glacier. I told my buddy I was with that I wanted going to the sun road to be a ride my wife and I could experience together !! So next summer we are doing it !! I can't wait !!!
Hello! My new friend. Wow! It's a motorcycle 💙💝💘 travel video that gives fun and healing. Especially, the scenery of nature is fantastic. Have a lucky 💘💙🌾 day.
I have had the pleasure to ride the Road to the Sun twice and both times it was like a religious experience. The scenery is that spectacular. And the road with the mountain and waterfalls on one side and the thousand foot drop off and the enormous snow capped peaks on the other side was epic. I have watched many of your videos and this one was by far the best…I just hope that one of your top ten rides includes the Ice Field Parkway heading up to Jasper Canada…It is almost as spectacular. Ride safe and take the Ladies more often, they make it fun…
Great video! I did this ride at the end of July and spent 3 days in GNP. We rode my bike from Virginia, to Sturgis, to Yellowstone, and then Glacier National Park. We were on a 3 week road trip over 6,000 miles ridden. I have to say Glacier National Park, and the surrounding area is the best riding I've ever done. We also hiked Highline Trail, 16 miles and 8 hours!. Had to ride the bike back to Columbia Falls after that hike. Amazing is an understatement.
The fun you guys had in the video is absolutely infectious! What a beautiful place. The more I watch your videos (and others) the more I realise that traveling the US on a bike will take more than one trip there. The country has an astonishing amount of must see places.
Absolutely awesome Matt! All your road trip videos are incredible, but this one was so inspiring. Although, Zion and Hawaii are right up there. You are the perfect ambassador for HD and you obviously inspire thousands. Thanks for another great video. I felt like I was there.
Solid time for sure. I was there 6 years ago the end of June & the road to the sun was close up above, because of snow & ice still covering the roadway . Spectacular place to see in person with your own eyes, one wow moment after another, is this place planet earth . Saw your cousin eye balling your Road Glide more than once, you might have a trade coming in. The Limited Glides are the cats-balls for touring & just long rides . Ride-On Amigos !
Thank you for bringing us along on a once in a lifetime journey. It makes me want to do it myself. The scenery was breathtaking and I am sure it's even more special in person. Events like this is what life is all about and are indelibly stamped in our hearts and minds forever. To enhance things even more, all of this was done riding the best motorcycles in the world.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride again, Matt! It's great to see people smiling and having a good time instead of arguing about science lol That Road Glide fits you and your lovely bride very well! I know you're gonna get one next time you trade up...
I like how Matt does his thing here quite excitingly! He is like a true professional explorer/journalist, & I feel like already been there (& well informed) watching his creations including his Yosemite video. Kudos to your craftmanship! Job Well Done! Hope more is coming.
If you get there, don’t miss heading down through Idaho. One of the most epic curvy and well paved roads within hundreds of miles is US12 from Lolo, MT. to Kooskia, ID. Yes, Glacier is nice, but to be there and not explore beyond is unfortunate
Man, these videos are just perfect. If I didn’t already own a Harley I would get one just because of Matt’s epic travel videos. Thank you for all the great content of places I’ll probably never get to visit as a Swede.
Awesome Vid of an EPIC MC Adventure! Going to the Sun Hwy is just Fabulous on a Bike! The Girls having so much FUN was, for me, what made this Vid the BEST!!! Ride On!
Did this over Labor Day weekend with two college friends, one on a rented Harley - super epic. Of course we did this as part of a 4000 mile round trip up the coast and through the Columbia river valley. Flying over would have had us missing so many cool areas. Glad I was able to spare the 17 days on that trip.
OMG... Talk about Epic... Riding as well as Videography. That had to take 50hrs to edit. The footage was inspirational and the editing was insane. Great Job. Now I want to go to Glacier. Thanks. Insane Job.
I rode it in 2005 on my 2004 Fat Boy on the way back from Sturgis, the road to the sun was amazing!! The weather sure changes fast it was about 75 going up the hill and when we crested it dropped into the 50's. Great video thanks for sharing.
Video left me without words. We lived in Great Falls for several years and visited Glacier several times. As you and others will say as great as your video and pictures were they just don't do it justice. If you haven't been here put this place on your must go to list. I suggest late summer or early fall as the best time due mainly to the crowds in the summer. Late spring and June are not the best in my opinion mainly due to it rains a lot and depending on the amount of snow sometimes the Going to the Sun Road isn't even able to be opened until late June. Have driven it both ways but in my opinion East to West is best. It is so beautiful it is hard for your mind to take it in. When Canada opens back up Banff is another place that is truly special. Great job Matt will save this video to watch over and over again.
Matt, some of the most stunning territory in the country. I could have watched 2 hours or more of your coverage! I get up there often; never get tired of it. In fact I rolled thru just ahead of you guys the last week of June. I really preferred your time of year, the weather, the elements, minus most the crowd you guys enjoyed. Loved how you broke up the trip, grabbing a hike or two, grabbing a couple boats which I didn’t know they rented. I usually stay in town in Whitefish. But that Airbnb up near the ski resort, seems an epic place to stay? Aside from the incredible landscape, and definitely in my Top 3 US Destinations, what really stood out was the company you kept. You had 3 great couples, who really appeared to travel well together, and that can make or break the best of destinations; I’ve had a couple trips ruined by as much. You guys meshed so well together, would have been my kinda peeps to hang with too. I could go on and on… thee best narration and footage I’ve seen riding thru Glacier, it’s not even close. Well done!
It's so beautiful there, I get tears in my eyes. Rode it 9/11/2020 on a 5 state ride. We're going back this July, this time with toy hauler and camping in the park. 10 days of awesome! I love Montana! I'm from WA State...going to escape when we retire.
Thanks Matt I really enjoyed Your trip without your friends and famil. Love seeing all the happy faces. Keep your trips up Enjoy yourself with your friends that's great
The depth the drone produces is dizzying, a better ride than any roller coaster! You brought me into your ship of view in the sky, and I saw in one moment, what you see every time your eyes fly.

Sitting here speechless and thoughtless of the words on how to thank you for this video. I’m so inspired to change my life and take my wife on trips like this. I sincerely thank you for what you have just given me. 🙏🙏❤️😎
Thank you Matt for your video of your trip though the Glacier National Park. Your right in saying that it is one of the best parks in the country. My hats off to the cool Harley Davidson motorcycles and Matt's worn out Harley Davidson black leather biker jacket and his new black leather Harley Davidson gloves! Ride on bro! Glad u show what the state of Montana looks like! Even all the missuses look like they r having a blast!
This was my 2nd time watching it. I think it's your best vid of all time! Makes me wanna get a new Street Glide Special in Billiard Red, load it in my Toy Hauler, and head for Glacier with my Girlfriend! Ride On!
Matt, I enjoyed every second of your video! I’m addicted to your channel brother! Rookie rider of a Harley and 2 wheels in general! Thank you sooo much for taking us with!

When no void is forming you, no void exists, and when no void exists, neither does EARTH, neither does the UNIVERSE. Outside our DOME is the MOON'S surface, and I have memory of there because I am the 1st space traveler. Space travel begins like this: 10,000,000,002,021. Feel that? You just moved Eternity. You moved it from thought to sight- space travel.
@@MattLaidlaw how many senses were you born with? How many do you have now? What do you call zero growth in sense since birth? How much faster is your thought speed since birth? Can you explain the moment you gained consciousness? Then how do you know you have? Mmm? You think that's 2021 air you're breathing when you know there are trees there 5,000 years still making air, which means what you think and what you know are strangers. You're a RAIN MAN Matt, you're not conscious you're not conscious- not when you hold paper saying you are alive with no age- your birth record- so in your hands is paper making you as conscious as FRANKENSTEIN, as he too was alive with no age. How can you be conscious when a 5,000 year old stick has more time making it, than you do making you?
@@MattLaidlaw How long have you known of the "missing link"? Can you explain your efforts in finding it? WAIT! WHAT? You know something is missing and you just never look for it and go on about your life as if it was not important enough to know? Where'd you get that idea from? In what world has your actions made sense? Yours? Frodo? Define the SHIRE, Matt as 2021, and LEAVE IT BEHIND by defining the KINGDOM with MATH 10,000,000,002,021-a logical total of time written when we are written to be- aka- the total of light the Sun has made bright=the NOW, the eternal now and to be conscious of eternity, consciously measure eternity 10,000,000,002,021 to be. Is the total there? then it must be defined and measured to be.
@@MattLaidlaw the ground has recorded life as living on it for 4,600,000,000 years, which means life has been dying for ten digits of time, which means worms have been eating for ten digits of Time, which means humans are most likely a species of worm, which means THE MOTHMAN is our GOD.
Yes you were in Whitefish and yes it is a ski town.
Whitefish was originally called stump town when the town was built because they built around the stumps left behind when the area was logged.
