I am happy to say I went to Vienna this Spring and one big reason was this movie. I visited most of the film's locations but and this record store was the most impactful. while I was inside I played this track by Kathy Bloom just to feel that magic. The highlight was talking to the owners of the store. They told me they met the actors and the director Richard Linklater. the wife's owner told me they built the booth just for the movie. They were very nice to me and even gave me 2 free cds from the store. really incredible experience
@@akshitgupta1161 I went online to search for the film locations! The store is called Teuchler - I think its how it spelled out. Its very close to the cafe wherer they have the phone call scene! good luck!

Luke Gibson Dude why r u being so pessimistic. Of course it has some unrealistic things since it is a movie. But overall more realistic than any other romance movie out there.

@@lukegibson9410 I think you're letting your life experiences influence your opinion of the movie. In a way it's a testament to the movie's realism. But Celine isn't your girlfriend.
Typical 'romantic movies' often used to leave me feeling sad and empty because I always thought that there was no way I could ever happen to experience love in such an exciting and magical way as demonstrated in those movies. And suddenly came this movie making me feel more romanticized than ever, and exactly in this scene it suddenly struck me: this is LIFE! No dramatic twists, no unrealistically exotic places, so basically nothing that is unlikely to happen in your life, just a beautiful city and two sensitive, thoughtful people giving out their thoughts and feelings to each other. This could happen to everyone, people, I guarantee you! Wherever you live, whoever you are. The real magic of love and life doesn’t reside in incredible and dramatic events, but in the spiritual connection between people. You just have to go out to look at the world with your eyes and soul wide open. This movie is a masterpiece, as instead of lying to you it captures the true and sheer beauty of life. Everyone should see it.
I was blushing the entire time. At one point I literally had to pause this scene cuz I was going crazy blushing as if it were happening to me. This scene is so awkward, so beautiful, so ...God idk ....I mean you can literally feel the tension...and its not that typical sexual tension that they show in flims after which the two characters explode into each other. There is tension , but there's a gentleness and grace and innocence to it which is fascinating. The way they look at each other and then look away, bite thier lips. Its real, its awkward, its perfect .....
When you experience something like this, life feels like a movie..the start takes your breath away but the end credits hit you so hard..you don't want it to be over but you know it is inevitable..all beauty is fleeting, all love is fleeting, all life is fleeting..
Wow. Couldn't have said it better myself. It's a dream I've had all of my life. To find someone to have an intelligent conversation with, to find a real, true connection. It triggers my emotions like no other film I have ever seen. The ending is so gut wrenching.

I just came back from Vienna. I visited "Alt & Nue" Record store in the movie. When this song turn on in the store....it was the most touching moment in my life!!
The incredible thing about this film is its simplicity in depicting the evening for the two of them. The fact that it is just the two of them walking along the city talking about life, love, reincarnation, feminism, ans so in is just plain marvelous. So many of us seek simple films that get into the reality of life, and depict the true nature of human beings. So many films now get carried away with elaborate sets and special effects, that they often forget the most important piece, the script!
.... all the fantasies all the dreams have in this scene and find a home ... quite big cinema ... "love is all around" ... and a big compliment to the three protagonists ..julie delpy , Ethan hawks and kath bloom ... I can see the scene 1000 times and still never get enough ...
I watched this movie with an ex. I wish I had watched it alone. We used to look each other this way when we were studying together. I still remember him holding me when I cried at the end of the movie. God it hurts so much.
Many years ago I came to TH-cam and was enraptured by the stories people post in the comments- sharing their lives to music- inviting me into their world, what a privilege it was- this is my own- its about a long lost love- literally- i have no idea where she is now or what shes upto, but two years ago we tried to communicate our love to each other, and she ended up making a TH-cam playlist of love songs whose lyrics and vibes when stitched together read as a summation of all that she ever wanted me to know. It had 12 songs on it, and only today, nearly 2 years after she made this for me, did I go through it all, did I understand something of what she wanted to say to me- my tears roll and my heart soars, because to understand another person is to love. u.k I love you and I always will- this is what I want to say to your letter- this song, this is for you. I live you through those memories now, and maybe some day, one day, we'll sit in a vinyl booth in Prague together as the dawn rises outside. Its right before sunrise right now, and I'm thinking of you. Be at peace babe- You are a gem. You'll always don my crown.
beautiful film! these are the moments that I live for. a part of me feels a burning nostalgia, an intense desire to relive these special moments from my travels. but at the same time I acknowledge the sacredness inherent in their impermanence and brevity. their fleeting nature is precisely what makes them beautiful (yet tremendously painful)
i dont have words to describe what i felt when i watched this video. It's so...pure and so beautiful, but at the same time, it's hard do believe, how can life do something like this to us. It's amazing, it's life. I wish i could live through this, someday..

i could watch 100 times everyday
1:19 “I like to feel his eyes on me when I look away”
that movie is simply perfect
Perfect. It reminds me of the "bed dance" in buffalo 66. Awkwardness can be a beautiful dance
I just came back from Vienna. I visited "Alt & Nue" Record store in the movie. When this song turn on in the store....it was the most touching moment in my life!!
For me, this the most heartwarming/ “kilig” scene. not saying a word to each other, just two souls enjoying the moment while the music is playing. ❤️
Most totally beautiful and unexpected sense ever. Truly talented first-class filmmaking
.... all the fantasies all the dreams have in this scene and find a home ... quite big cinema ... "love is all around" ... and a big compliment to the three protagonists ..julie delpy , Ethan hawks and kath bloom ... I can see the scene 1000 times and still never get enough ...
the most beautiful love story i've ever seen
One of the best acted scenes ever. Storytelling without words....
this is one scene i can watch a thousand times and every single time, it gets me.
this is one for all the romantics in the world;)))))
The way they look each other 😍
I watched this movie with an ex. I wish I had watched it alone. We used to look each other this way when we were studying together. I still remember him holding me when I cried at the end of the movie. God it hurts so much.
i just suddenly miss this scene and the song is so perfect for it.. love the movie so much!
The beauty of this scene cannot be put in words ❤️
beautiful film! these are the moments that I live for.
a part of me feels a burning nostalgia, an intense desire to relive these special moments from my travels. but at the same time I acknowledge the sacredness inherent in their impermanence and brevity. their fleeting nature is precisely what makes them beautiful (yet tremendously painful)
This scene has got to be hands down one of the best moments in all of cinema. The way that they glance at each other speaks volumes.
someday, everyone should have this kind of love... we just have to keep smiling the way Celine does.
i dont have words to describe what i felt when i watched this video. It's so...pure and so beautiful, but at the same time, it's hard do believe, how can life do something like this to us. It's amazing, it's life.
I wish i could live through this, someday..
I like to rewatch this once in a while to remind myself what I'll never have.
And I am still here loving all of this. ❤️
