For 12 volt output u should use 20-80 volt to 12 volt output transistor 7812 for headlight

7812 max input voltage is 35v and 7812 is linear regulator which wastes a lot of power.

@@hardnachopuppy not, that will not waste ur power ... That is an ic based voltage regulator with output of only 1 amp ... This will save ur power more ...

So if you want 12V 1A it will consume 48V 1A and convert the extra 36w to heat
