I wish Logitech would give the Vertical the same build quality and features as the Master 3, especially since they're the same price.

      Yeah, this.
I am looking into relieving some aching in my hand/arm with a vertical mouse but I want something of the MX Master 3 quality level in a vertical form-factor. Doesn't exist unfortunately.
That said, I currently use a completely symmetrical ultra-lightweight gaming mouse for both gaming and general tasks, and it's simply a very bad choice for an all-in-one solution due to its unergonomic shape and basically no angle tilt for the hand, which creates a lot of strain.
I've tried the MX Master 3 in a store briefly and even though it's not a vertical mouse it does create a very generous angle and it has very ergonomic shape on which the hand fits nicely and can rest, unlike the mouse I have. It's just a much more natural hand position.
I am thinking that maybe even the Master 3 would help a ton and I love the features it brings but then again I don't wanna waste a $100 if it doesn't work for me in the long run.
And I really don't like what the MX Vertical is offering for the money. Like its only selling point is that it is a vertical mouse with Logitech branding, no other redeeming qualities whatsoever. I mean there are mice 1/3 of the price that offer the same.

I have the MX 3 and MX Vertical and testing them. Right now I feel the Vertical is waaay more comfortable over time, but a little less precise. While the MX 3 is more precise but I get a strain in my hand faster.
Either is not an absolute winner. Both have trade-offs instead of advantages to me. Dangit!

Thank you for comparing the two and sharing how the Lift mouse exacerbated your injury, especially the strain on your thumb and pointing finger. I have De Queravains tendonitis from an injury tearing the tendon in my wrist and carpal tunnel. I purchased the Lift because it had been recommended to me for my injury and it made my pain 10x worse. I had to take a week off of work after only using it for ten days. I am considering the MX Master 3 and I am so glad I found your video.

Good honest review. It's just cemented what a lot of other users have said. There is potential in it. But Logitech have fell way short compared to Mx master 3 in terms of functionality. God only knows why they dropped the magnetic scrolling action. That's a game changer!

After using the MX Masters for years (and generally loving all things Logitech) I needed an ergonomic solution to wrist-ache. I bought the Logitech MX Vertical Ergonomic Mouse too and found it to be... their first try and not very good. For all the reasons you mention. Even with large hands you have to change hand position to reach the extra-functionaly buttons and the shape doesn't actually fit the hand particularly well. I rarely use it.
What I did do though, and when you need the extra functionality for creative work, is try the Evoluent VerticalMouse D. This is ergonomic - as it is shaped for the hand, and it has all the programmability for creatives. Mine's a large one, but they come in small, medium and large. Large wouldn't fit you so if you haven't given up on the idea of a vertical mouse - I slide right to allow my little finger to slip under the edge to lift - this is the ideal, truly ergonomic, replacement for an MX Master that also happens to be ideal for creatives. Used in combination with an aluminium mouse mat allows me to use Photoshop, CorelDraw and the other stuff we all use. Also allows individual app button programming like the MX Master series. One thing, it has a mirrored finish - which I'm not a fan of - so it's difficult to work out the shape by the photos, but it is the most comfortable mouse I've ever used and highly accurate. I'd never heard of it, or them, until I needed a solution to wrist ache and fatigue.

Good video. I'm glad you mentionned the "picking up" difficulty and the strain on the thumb it causes you when you try to click. I got a shoulder injury and I hope it will help me. If not, I might go and buy the MX Master 3 if I'm not satisfied with the MX Vertical.

It's a big investment, but it's worth it every penny, specially if you've been experiencing any kind of pain from using a regular mouse. Trust me. I own both the MX Master 3 and the MX Vertical, and although the MX Master is an excellent premium mouse, the only thing that was able to heal my wrist/hand was the vertical mouse.

  • @StromboliKicks

I think you convinced me to get the master 3. Although when I rest my and on the desk (without a mouse) it feels like it wants to be in a "hand shake" position, and it actually relieves some of my pain, hence I started to watch vertical mouse reviews. But you really made some good points about the flaws of the vertical one. They're very expensive and I have so much pain right now that if they don't help I'll be pissed off. lol

if you've not made your purchase yet, you should check out the Contour Unimouse Wireless that another comment below mentioned! @@StromboliKicks no problem! glad I'm able to help :) even now my arm defaults to the handshake position as well, and the mx3 took a little bit of getting used to as well, but my arm is definitely not aching as much as if I were to use a normal mouse

I own the MX Master 3 and the MX Vertical. Although the MX Master 3 is an excellent premium mouse, it's NOT recommended for someone who has been suffering from arm/wrist/hand/finger pain. If you have a lot of pain, the only way to go is the vertical mouse. Currently there are some very good vertical mice on the market such as the MX Vertical, the pricey Contour Unimouse, and the budget Anker Mouse.

So searching for an ergonomic mouse , I am between these two. Any help?

Hey! I'm a pianists and photographer looking for a mouse around $50 that wont strain my wrist when editing photos and videos for hours. I don't care for RBG in a mouse, I'll be fine without the many buttons, I have about an average to large hand. Which mouse do you recommend for me? (I'm ordering online, can't go to store rn) Thank you 🙏

Hey! I'll definitely recommend the MX Master 3, although as some other comments have pointed out, it may not be for everybody. I work with media as well, and the side scroll is an immense help when it comes to timeline and artboard scrolling. Alternatively, you can check out Contour Unimouse Wireless mentioned by another comment, might be on the pricey side, but from what I guess it can do I think it's worth it :)

For the best confort and ergonomics (especially after long sessions using the computer) I definitely recommend the MX Vertical. I would recommend the MX Master ONLY if you desperately need the extra sidescroll. But you can always map the sidescrolling function to a gesture (actually two gestures, one for each side) for the MX Vertical on the Logitech Options software (which is pure gold btw).

DON'T BUY IF YOU HAVE SMALL HANDS I have logitech mx master 3s and small hands, I can reach the scroll wheel only with the tip of my index finger, doesn't feel ergonomic at all, is too big if you have small hands, feels too heavy comparing to my jelly combo that is really light and very ergonomic also is about £20 ish you can change dpi on the jelly combo mouse, however on this logitech mx master 3s you need to install the sw to change the dpi speed and also to configure the buttons, my company doesn't allow installing the sw which makes the mouse quite useless if you work with 2 screens. Overall unhappy with this mouse, I would make it tilted, lighter, able to configure the buttons in the mouse rather than using sw(like other gaming logitech mouse in market), in conclusion the only thing I like is the fast wheel, apart from that it gave me wrist and arm pain so I have stop using it :( also they don't make it for left handed I contacted logitech support about it and they couldn't reply
