So. My views on this. 100+ dollars for a 12 year old macallan at 40% ABV. Meaning your paying about 20-25 SGD in taxes and GST. The rest is margin. I would expect if they used a sherry cask, they'd use a proper one and not one that has been seasoned with sherry. It's kind of a cheap substitute to a sherry cask.

100 dollar 40% Macallan product ''rich'' and ''full bodied'' and recommended as an auto-buy? With all due respect, what kind of a whisky consumer are you talking to? Anyone above beginner level looking for value and good stuff shouldn't even look at this.

$100 is definitely pricey, but it becomes so much more reasonable once you explore the price points here in SG! Even a JW Red Label retails at around S$50!
