I was born and raised in NJ and went to school in Closter until I moved to Florida, but I miss Bergen County, all it’s towns are mostly clean, neat, civil and well-mannered folks, and overall safe, I hope in the near future to go back. Its only few downsides of it is the “blue laws.”
Tenafly is real nice too. Old school charm, great school system, but like any place in Bergen County, taxes are insane! So much so, that many children that grow up there can't even think of affording it. I know so many that have moved to the Midwest, the South, or Western states.
I’d love to see a list that stratifies towns by average home value. I’ve lived in Midland Park nearly 3 decades and while I know it can’t complete with the towns on the list it sure is more reasonably priced! I feel we get good value for our money and I enjoy being next to 4 of the 5 other towns, it makes for stable home values here as well.
When moving to Bergen County, you move as far north of Route 4 as your money will take you. My dad bought a house in Westwood in 1965, and I now live in River Vale.
There are many charming cities in Bergen County. I think it's really difficult to rank top cities. It totally depends on what you consider for your life priorities 😉
Love Bergen County. I grew up in Franklin Lakes, went to pre-school in Allendale, but always thought Ridgewood was the ideal. Was back for a visit recently, and it’s still as beautiful as ever, barely changed after decades.
Currently I working on becoming a occupational therapist. Would the salary of an Occupational therapist be enough to live comfortably in Newark New Jersey?
The towns mentioned here do not have many condo options. But if you go further north to Mahwah or Ramsey, there are plenty of great options for condos ranging from the mid $200's for a one bedroom to the mid-upper $300's for 2-3 bedrooms.
Hi Jackie, pretty good selection. Here is what I would choose as the 5 best. Taking out Alpine, Saddle River, USR, Franklin Lakes Tenafly & Demarest. To paraphrase Yogi Berra: "People don't live there anymore it's too expensive." #1 Wyckoff (I live in Wyckoff LOL). Nice area lower taxes relatively speaking. #2 Ridgewood #3 Mahwah #4 Allendale #5 Ramsey Good job enjoyed your video.
I could name 10 different towns that’s art better these 5 towns .. she made this list because she prob sells more house in year area.. most schools in Bergen county are decent if your kids puts effort and study.. stop buying in these high tax prices towns .. I know several families That’s moved to these Towns when their kids were in middle school and now their kids are attending community college .. towns don’t make difference it’s how much kid put effort into their school work that determines where they end up .. stop paying these crazy over priced taxes

I love Tenafly!
My in-laws lived in Glen Rock. What a wonderful town! The taxes are high but the schools are amazing. The town is clean and beautiful

Grew up in Allendale in the 90’s went back to visit recently way to many people now
This is the case with most of Bergen county now. Completely swamped with people compared to 20 years ago

Thanks for watching! I don’t know what OT’s make honestly. Are you looking to rent or buy?
@@JackieBaker I’m still in college so I am not looking to buy a home right. However I would want to buy.
I love Allendale. I used to visit a little bookstore there many moons ago.
Are you currently taking in new clients?, or are you maxed out at the moment?
I am taking on new clients. Please call me at 845-629-0984 so we can have a buyer consult. Look forward to hearing from you!

I grew up in Haworth!! Great little town!!
It really is!
I used to live in Ridgefield New Jersey that's part of Bergen County.
Yes it is
I worked in Ridgefield for 20 years and and still confuse it with Hudson County 1988 to 2006 mainly Groov Pin Corp on Hendricks Causeway

These are great suggestions and I agree. Maybe it’s time for an updated video for 2022. I appreciate you watching! Thank you!!
Hey Winston! - No one cares! Thanks buddy.
Definitely not Wyckoff for many reasons. I’d put Woodcliff lake on the list.
@@gone.golfing I care. Go kick rocks.
Haworth also had 1 elementary school k -8. Then hs is NVRHSD
Thank you!
Is Rochelle Park good?
I'm not 100% familiar with that town except that it's a pretty small town. I recommend researching it on Niche.com.
Not good. Move north. Hackensack is your high school.
@@jimmy1154 I go to Bergen County Academies
Yeah if you love shopping eating drinking and burning all your money on taxes, Bergen county is the place to be
Or if you want to send your kids to excellent schools. Thanks for watching!

Bergen-Belsen began as a camp for Allied prisoners of war. After it was turned over to the SS, it became a Nazi concentration camp in 1943.
Left Garfield out....with good reason. Bottom of the barrel in Bergen County. Schools are terrible. I know I've been there.
I lived in Bergen it’s the best.
Glad Hasbrouck highs is not here it sucks
I m sick of living on long island 😔
