I’m heading to Wakefield with my NB for my first ever day on a track, watched the prep video you made for first timers (so many times) and now this video makes me realise what it takes to be a great driver experience + practice... you produce such great content for all of the MX5 community, thanks man
Thank you, that's very kind. Don't let my car or my driving put you off, even an amateur can get out there on track. The more laps you do, the better you will be!
I loved the track day, I’m hooked and can’t wait to go out again. Thanks to your videos on track prep, coilover installation, short shifter install and sticky tyres, I had so much fun !! Thanks BEAVIS
Niiiiiiiiceeeee, cracking vid Brendon, your commentary is great, love all the detail you gave and your driving is brilliant fair play, love the track to, nice corners and straights, looking forward to your next video as always, really really good
Great vid. Love the extra camz. Is the reverse cam for us or you? It was a great view of the Wakefield track as I have never been. But its almost as close a phillip.island is to me in N/central vic. I think id have to ignore the times and try not to get kicked out for drifting at a non drift event.
I'm trying to alleviate pad knock back which is exacerbated by the higher grip levels and heavy cornering. Also, I'm still getting comfortable with the car and it's braking capabilities, so I was also giving the brakes a tap to give myself confidence that they were ready and firm when I really stepped on them.
Those sort of brake taps before a braking zone are usually the driver trying to combat pad knock... You don't have pad knock with your Wilwoods though, do you?
Awesome vid Brendan! What camera are you using for the main/large footage there? I'm seeking something better than my gen2 go pro it always seems to struggle with the light from in car to outside..
The best time I got in my e30 323i was 1:20 something with just federal 595RSRR’s and bill stein B8’s all around is that a decent time for a stock e30 that’s not fast what’s so ever?😂

Thanks bradley

Fancy footwork. Well done.

Boi you are really fast, impressive turns and grip
Thank you.
1:06 on the TH-cam timescale laptimer!
My best time of the day was a 1:02.9 :-)

Rear cam is there because I need it, not for anyone else.
Just after 4:19, why do you tap the brakes?

Are the little left foot dabs on the brake to keep some heat into them?

@@colinbowman8816 what's pad knock?
@@Nasonix2 nasaspeed.news/tech/brakes/pad-knock-back-what-it-is-how-it-happens-and-what-to-do-about-it/
Not to gain heat, but to counter pad knock back. They definitely don't need more heat.
Awesome driving as usual, loving the car. That NA was friggin' ripping too! Any info on his build?
I don't have any info other than what I mentioned in the video sorry mate.

I recently purchased a current model GoPro.... GoPro 7 I think? It's certainly a nicer, sharper image.
G'day mate. Was this one of John Boston's track school weekends?
It was an MX-5 Club event.
@@Bbeavis do they let non-mx5s in ever?
@@blairo15 Yeah absolutely, there were a few other cars there on the day.
@@Bbeavis sweet. I might have to tag along to one!
looked like you were having a blast hahah
Thank you.
How you solved the 6speed gearbox weird shifting ? Now it seemed good
Just some fresh trans fluid for the moment.

I'm not familiar with BMW's sorry mate so I cannot tell you what's fast in that regard.
