I use apxp.info - which is designed for the default X-Plane navdata (pretty sure Asobo's is equally dated). If you have Navigraph and updated AIRAC, go with what that says.
Thank you Man 🙏 I was having problems with autopilot. Is there any other way to use the autopilot without a flight plan, similar to how the 747 autopilot works?
Amazing job well done, quick couple of question 1, my TCAS always stays on off position even i put select iton. 2, glide slope on auto landing does not activates only loc. Any reason what i am missing? I done the setting on position in my FMS
1. Do you mean the switch goes back to OFF, or ATC is telling you the transponder is malfunctioning? If that’s the case, check the squawk code and make sure it matches what they want. 2. Not every airport has a glide slope, but if it does, you’ll need to be *below* it to capture it. There’s always a possibility that VNAV will bring you in too high - you’ll see DES PATH UNACHIEVABLE on the FMC if this is the case. And of course make sure you press APP once localiser is captured.
hello, great video thank you very much, in the FMC I put the TOD pause .... when the PMDG gets there impossible to unlock it (which key on the keyboard?) to end my flight (everything is active even MSFS only the plane remains stuck at TOD? impossible to find the solution (on FSX it was "P" but nothing on MSFS).thank you for your help heeeelllppp me

@@Sedou-101 no, the only real difference is weight and size. Systems are identical (although 800 has a slightly visually different radio panel). You are missing something - check your route has no discontinuities, that your route is from runway to runway, and that your PERF is complete.
Great video! I have one question...I do not have rudder pedals yet. When I try to taxi out I can't get the nose wheel to turn. All the other airplanes in fs2020 will steer with the yoke. Is this possible with the PMDG 737-800? I cant afford the pedals yet but would still like to learn this aircraft and actually taxi it.
If you have a rudder control assigned (twist on a joystick etc) the airplane will steer. You may have to tick “rudder controls nose wheel” or something in the PMDG settings in the FMC
great tutorial. But I can't get my plane off the ground because I can't steer it. I doesn't turn and I go off thruway. Weird because the steering works on all of the other planes I use in MSFS. Just not this PDGM 737
@@TiJayFLY thank you for responding. I found the option in the FMC but that did help. The times I fly it off the runway just to get it into the air, the landing gear doesn't come up. Disappointing purchase for me
@@TiJayFLY I have always used the G key for landing gear. Everything worked fine after initial install. Now nothing, unusable. I saw the rudder option in the FMC switched it back and forth and it still doesn't steer. I feel ripped off by PNDG because I can't get a refund. thanks again
Heya TiJay thanks for the tutorial, it's really helped me. Just one question though, when I'm at cruise level I set the final altitude for top of descent, but it starts descending straight away instead of waiting. I plugged in the correct frequency for the NAV's and I setup autopilot just how you did so I'm a little confused.
Assuming the airplane is in VNAV mode and you have a route & cruising alt set in the FMC, it could just be that the route is short and it’s actually the right time to descend. Make sure you’re not accidentally clicking the altitude knob also. Alternatively feel free to drop by the discord in description and share a video
@@TiJayFLY Cheers for getting back to me. I should also mention that I'm flying the 737-800 and sometimes VNAV works and sometimes it doesn't lol.. so that may have been it then as I had to manually land the plane on arrival. I had the route setup properly and the cruising alt was setup in the FMC as well but yes I probably did click the alt knob at that time too.

Hey man! Great video btw explained alot of things but ive just got one question? How do i See/localise the localiser announciator on the pfd during the vor loc to approach mode stage? This would be helpful as Iam unsure of when to start approach mode? Thank you!
Once “VOR LOC” appears on the PFD as the primary/current annunciator, you can activate APPR. Or if you mean when do you hit LOC, you’ll see the diamonds appear as soon as the beacon is picked up (assuming the frequency is tuned).
Started, entered Route Dep and Destination EGSS to EGFP pressed DEP ARR, pres DEP SEL and selected RW 04 Pressed DEP ARR again, tried to pick ILS 05, but FMS shows no STARS (NONE) and no Approaches(NONE) and only RW 04 and 22 please advice
Great concise tutorial. I have a few questions however, and would appreciate it if someone could help me. How can you add fuel? I try to add fuel through the MSFS fuel menu and it doesn’t work. Also, whenever I try to apply flaps during decel, there is a beeping noise that was also present in your video. What is it that causes this noise? I also noticed that sometimes the plane does not descend further after clicking the approach button and wasn’t sure why. Thanks
1. It should accept the initial load out from the world map - MSFS is buggy with this anyway - but once in the sim, I believe you can adjust in the FMC 2. Is that the long continuous beep? I believe it’s a gear warning 3. You need to intercept the glide slope from below (diamond above the horizon). You’re likely too high
Find the airport you’re going to on the website apxp.info - you’ll see that every runway has an ILS frequency and course. You enter the course of your destination runway in the MCP. As it happens, this info is also made available to you in the FMC when you select the runway in RTE.
Just got to ask when im cruising is there a arrow that shows up on the nav display for when i have to descend so i can put in the descent alt etc or when im cruising do i need to put in the descent alt and it will automatically descend?
Hello, how do you remove a flight plan from the aircraft? I would go to flight plans section in PMDG folder and delete it but when I start the sim it's still there in the loading page. Can you help with that? Thank you.
I don’t think PMDG currently plan to support it. You can import from Simbrief, but it does seem a bit silly for the sim’s built-in flight planner to not be supported.
Good tutorial but I made notes and had to keep go back to the start of each break if I missed something rather than a slight touch back which was a bit frustrating. Quite explanatory though thanks

Hi! Great video! I was wondering if you could update the video with a full flight plan etc perhaps even including the new EFB. Cheers!
I keep the flight plan deliberately simple in these videos, I always recommend people just use Simbrief for more complex plans (which is a topic already well covered by other content creators).
I’ll look at the EFB and see if it’s worthwhile producing a guide to it 👍
No matter what I do, I get 'UNABLE CRZ ALT' after setting my cruise altitude under TRIP/CRZ ALT. I've followed every step exactly the way you've shown in this video
Route is too short for your desired cruise alt
Hi, sorry to be a pain but have come back to you tutorial but I am still have issues with the A/T arm. On your display this is already set when the tutorial starts so I it was set earlier. At what stage did you set the A/T?? If you can talk me through it that would be great. Thanks
@@chrispurkiss1491 I didn’t, it’s armed by default from a runway start. Everything I did is shown in the video. If you’re starting from cold and dark, just flick the AT arm switch at any time before takeoff.
If youre experiencing issues with the AT from a runway start, there’s probably something else wrong. Feel free to join the discord in description and share videos for diagnosis
Thanks! I was using this on the -600 variant, and it worked well, only issue was that I wasn't able to lose altitude enough for the landing, so I had to go around...
Shouldn’t be an issue as long as you select a STAR and approach 👍
@@TiJayFLY Sorry to bother again, but what is a STAR?
@@Zuwx when you select your destination airport in the FMC it’ll ask you to choose an approach (usually “ILS runway x”) and arrival (STAR). Use the MSFS World Map to get an idea of the STARs that are available at your destination.

I *think* so. Can’t quite remember
This thing sucks. When setting up auto pilot it refuses to move upward instead it goes backwards and it will not fix
Thanks for this tutorial but on the PMDG how do I find out my IAS speed etc and the heading course and all of this
There’s an FAQ video on my channel homepage, covers all of this as it’s the same for every plane pretty much

Hi, trying to follow your tutorial as I need a simple flight to get some experience with the Boeing (I am using the PMDG 737-600) but got some questions. On my FMC when first viewed I don't have A/T Arm showing and when I try to turn it on it flashed but won't stay. Also, how do I set the radio minimums for landings correctly to 150 feet. One other question if I may I mistakenly changed the digit of the display below the transponder showing 3300 and 8900 and can't work out how to change them back. Sorry !!!!

Hello, Thanks for the tutorial but when I'm on the ground it doesn't let me activate LNAV. I click the button and nothing happens, do you know why this is happening?
Activate it in-flight :) This varies by airline IRL, and PMDG has modelled the ones that do not allow it to be enabled on the ground.

Post your route and some screenshots on the PMDG forums. It’s either a route issue or a bug - they’ll be able to tell you which
Hello, do you know if there have been any updates for this plane since it's release? thanks
There was a 1.1 I think, bug fixes and stuff

@@TiJayFLY Thank you, I will give that a try.
This will hopefully be the last time I ask for your help, but can you show me where to fuel the plane using the EFB? I can’t see it anywhere

great tutorial. But I can't get my plane off the ground because I can't steer it. I doesn't turn and I go off thruway. Weird because the steering works on all of the other planes I use in MSFS. Just not this PDGM 737
I think in the FMC there’s an option for steering to be tied to rudder axis. Turn it on or off depending how you steer.
@@TiJayFLY thank you for responding. I found the option in the FMC but that did help. The times I fly it off the runway just to get it into the air, the landing gear doesn't come up. Disappointing purchase for me
@@Stan-ug9mx That sounds like a mapping issue too? Try just using the keyboard hot key G

Once “VOR LOC” appears on the PFD as the primary/current annunciator, you can activate APPR. Or if you mean when do you hit LOC, you’ll see the diamonds appear as soon as the beacon is picked up (assuming the frequency is tuned).

Thanks
1. It should accept the initial load out from the world map - MSFS is buggy with this anyway - but once in the sim, I believe you can adjust in the FMC
2. Is that the long continuous beep? I believe it’s a gear warning
3. You need to intercept the glide slope from below (diamond above the horizon). You’re likely too high
i not understanding the part of setting up the Course
Find the airport you’re going to on the website apxp.info - you’ll see that every runway has an ILS frequency and course. You enter the course of your destination runway in the MCP.
As it happens, this info is also made available to you in the FMC when you select the runway in RTE.
What am I doing wrong? I have followed this tutorial to the t, but after take off I lose engine power and lose altitude and crash. TIA
Can you upload a video showing the issue?

Hello, how do you remove a flight plan from the aircraft? I would go to flight plans section in PMDG folder and delete it but when I start the sim it's still there in the loading page. Can you help with that? Thank you.
I’m not sure sorry, but I’d imagine the manual covers this stuff?
What if you have a short runway? Does it know if the Take off numbers will work or not?
The speeds will be correct, the question is whether or not you can reach them before running out of runway ;)
will flight planning through the menu ever be available?
I don’t think PMDG currently plan to support it. You can import from Simbrief, but it does seem a bit silly for the sim’s built-in flight planner to not be supported.
Good tutorial but I made notes and had to keep go back to the start of each break if I missed something rather than a slight touch back which was a bit frustrating. Quite explanatory though thanks
Would more granular time stamps be better? Can do that in future. Also pause along the way at each step ofc 👍
