    Found your video just as I bought the 737-600 and this is a perfect short toutorial since most videos based on the 737 fmc are around 30 minutes
    Great job!!

    Thanks for this. I was a beginner with airliners when MSFS came out and I always spawned on the runway with the A32NX. With the 737, I really want to start cold and dark from the gate for the full immersion. I did my first flight last night with the 737 from gate to gate. It was a little bumpy and time consuming to get going but this nice step by step video is gonna help out tremendously for my next flight tonight. Now I just need to search for a video on how to read everything off the simbrief plan. I know they have the "how to read this plan" link but I found it took me forever to mouse over everything in their sample plan to find out what I needed to enter into the FMC. I just need a video to show me visually so my memory learns quicker.

    You can also import the winds with the KDENKBUR.wx file that can be generated by Simbrief and save it to the WX folder that is in the same folder where the FLIGHTPLAN directories are. You the import it in the DES page by selecting FORECAST and then loading the file.

    Great video and informative. Was wondering if we can modify the speed/Altitude in the legs section ? I think I tried and it wouldn't enter. Was just wondering if it's modifiable. During A/P I already manage the speed and altitude so I was thinking the info was irrelevant. Except for the approach where the ILS kicks in and then it follows the information on the FMC.

    hi FSElite, I had a rather dull issue earlier. I set up a flight plan in the preflight screen using the "low-altitude airways" option and an ILS approach. I checked the GPS map and set everything up in the FMC. But when I took off and reached top of climb I realized the LNAV was not following the waypoints set by MSFS. And I really need to follow these waypoints all the way to arrival to properly intercept the localizer/glideslope. Now there was discontinuity in the route but that was only one waypoint and I tried to fix it inflight to match with the map but it still went haywire.

    • @FSElite
      @FSElite  ปีที่แล้ว

      They recently updated simbrief so I don’t know off the top of my head. Will have to get back to you. It’s usually with the section that lists all the weight info. The transition altitude depends on where you are in the world. In the U.S. it’s 18,000ft. While other places it’s 5000.
      If the vspeeds won’t auto calculate there is a step missing. Possibly departure runway not set, zfw not plugged in.

  • @silvermyth2119

    Thank you for the video. I have two questions. On the screen to the right of the FMC, it's showing the status of the oil pressures. How did you get the screen to turn on? On my PMDG's, the screen is blank. Second question, and this one is driving me crazy, where can one get an official PMDG manual that explains EVERYTHING about the FMC step by step? Sort of like the PMDG Bible? I've looked everywhere with no luck. Instructional videos are very good, but for a newbie like me it would require a very long time of watching the video, pausing it, rewinding it and so on as your trying to follow the steps on the actual PMDG FMC. Jumping back and forth from the sim to the video seems a little counterintuitive. It's helpful, no doubt, but I also need a manual like structure that I can follow step by step in order for the info to sink in. Thanks.

    Hi! If i want to make my flightplan in the game menu, how do I get it into the aircraft? Is there a simple way? I would love to fly the 737 but I’m not so intrested to sit and make a flightplan in the fmc… Thanks!

    • @TheFlightSimDeck
      @TheFlightSimDeck 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The simplest way is going to be adding the plan file from sim brief. The MSFS meme planner is not compatible with this aircraft. So it would still require a few clicks in the FMC to get the plan and runway loaded.

  • @MagnumMike44
    @MagnumMike44 ปีที่แล้ว

    On the part where you mentioned duplicate waypoints -I programmed the FMC for a flight from KPHX to KSAN (Phoenix to San Diego) and apparently there was such a waypoint in the flight plan which basically would have taken the 737-800 an extra 7000 NM outside of the desired route.. LOL.. Is there a way to just delete such a waypoint rather than reprogramming the entire flight plan? I don't have the SimBrief add-on.

    • @FSElite
      @FSElite  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can click the waypoint after that one, and then fill it in over the one that was 7000 miles away. Some waypoints are duplicated throughout the world.

    Where on the FMC does it tell you what waypoint to start your descent?

    • @FSElite
      @FSElite  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will show T/D (Top of Decent) on the Map display. One way to tell in the FMC is on the legs page. When you see the altitudes next to each waypoint descend below what your cruise has been. But it does not mark the FMC with T/D.

    • @FSElite
      @FSElite  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are transitioning from the published departure (SID) to the rest of your flight plan. It will be next to the SID. Arrivals generally work this way too. @5:55 DBL and DAG are the two transitions used on this flight.

    A vector will get placed on my ILS approach. How do I delete it, or direct to the next waypoint. Clicking and executing the next waypoint on the RTE page is not working for me.

      Go to the LEGS page on the FMC and click the waypoint right below the vector and then paste it over the vector.

    At 6:20 when you started to enter J60 and BCE. My “routing “ for a flight I’m trying to enter doesn’t work. My routes are “SUMMR2 SCTRR DCT SNS DCT SPNSR TMBRS2” and after SCTRR it doesn’t seem to work.

    • @FSElite
      @FSElite  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi M Miller. For SNS and SPNSR go ahead and add those to the right side only. You don't have to add the DCT. It's just short for direct when there isn't an airway to travel on in between waypoints. You can also add them on the legs page after SCTRR. SPNSR is probably the transition to TMBRS2 so that could also be selected from the ARR page when you select TMBRS2. If that doesn't make sense let me know and I'll record a short video for you. I've done this route before. -Patrick

    • @Shmikes
      @Shmikes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FSElite thank you so much for the help! It really helped! I another question, do you know why there’s multiple TMBRS2 waypoints? I’m not sure why, but when I complete the process and look at my flight plan. Right before I get to the approach the plan just turns right and goes straight for days and I can’t figure out what I did wrong.

    Recommend to insert planned fuel, otherwise system will stay using reserved fuel and your pumps will light up. Then you need to turn off pumps. Simple maths to add up your total fuel and easy answer can be 5.1

    • @FSElite
      @FSElite  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually filling out the plan fuel can cause that to happen. I should have explained this but the plan fuel section is not used for your trip fuel. It should be left blank. It’s mainly used if your fuel for takeoff is vastly different from what’s loaded on the aircraft. For instance after landing and you’re going on another trip. It’s just there as a calculator. But should always be blank for takeoff because it changes the aircrafts gw from what it actually is. I hope that makes sense.

    • @Empire24453
      @Empire24453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FSElite Intersting, I was informed to do it. Work out the total fuel, (RIP + CONT + TAXI + ALTN) that comes to around 5.1 on a total of 8500kg fuel on board. after I did it a couple of times I get no reserved fuel message and pumps stay on.

    • @FSElite
      @FSElite  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Empire24453 I did it like this for years as well. It wasn't until I started watching 737 captain Flightdeck2sim fill his out and I noticed he always left it blank. Then I started to look into it and learned it's not used in that way.
      This is a better explanation: "The "plan fuel" entry in the FMC is in case you expect to load fuel onto the aircraft after setting up the perf pages. This tells the FMC that it should calculate performance based on the fuel you WILL have, versus the fuel you CURRENTLY have onboard."
