This show takes place during the 70s, that was the time of free love and Hippies and another name for Hippies during the 70s was "Flower Children" it was a craze during these times and Flower designs were everywhere, this is why this show uses the flowers a lot.
The manager at the burger place Eric worked at was portrayed by former child actor and retired morning radio host Danny Bonaduce(The Partridge Family).
@springheartedtiger They were just everywhere, no clue why but it was a popular thing to use in patterns and drawing, I would assume it goes along with flower children aka hippies
the song Jackie keeps listening to in the basement is "Do You Feel Like We Do" by Peter Frampton. the album "Frampton Comes Alive" was a MONSTROUS seller in '76.
Donna’s mom is Midge. The actress is Tanya Roberts. Unfortunately she passed away on January 24, 2021 at 71 from sepsis due to a urinary tract infection.
Born in the late 60's, I can relate to this show, so it's nostalgic for me ❤ And can confirm it's accurate! A strong show from the start. You will continue to love it!
This is so AWESOME!! You guys are going to have lots of laughter in these episodes, and find legendary moments from the character especially the unexpected as well. Hope you're both doing well these days. HELLO WISCONSIN
I'm reliving my exposure to this show in these reaction videos. I graduated H.S. in 1978 so the timeline parallels my own experience. I look forward to you getting to the 'Omen episode.
Yeah if I had to list 2 older sitcoms that are underrated these days but absolutely made me cackle consistently when I watched them, it's this show and the George Lopez sitcom. Both genuinely, thoroughly hilarious.
The flower was a huge thing in the 70s, if you ever look at the Mystery Machine van you'll see similar flowers. I am surprised at how early Fatso Burger was in the series, I just remember the one episode with the head of Fatso, lol, cannot wait to see your reactions to that episode. It's not the best season that it shows up in but the comedy makes up for it.
The show starts in the year 1976 and was a monster hit out the gate which immediately created a time table conundrum for the series as they needed to keep it in the 70's yet by season 5 were clearly past them in real time. The show's creators realized had they known the show would've been a long running success, they would've rolled the calendar year odometer back further like '74 to give themselves breathing room. As it was, the show played fast and loose with the in-universe timeline by incorporating a time dilation of sorts slowing time down and outright making their junior and senior years a four year span to stretch out the 70's and built-in premise and title of the show. All told, the series ran a total of 8 seasons which was the equivalent of 8 years our real time frame, but in That 70's Show continuity, they were in a Quantum Realm mirror dimension where the cosmic calendar ran a little different and the years 1974- 1979 took double the time to be lived out. It worked for awhile, but by year 8 the actors were clearly aged out of the age they were suppose to be which actually made the whole enterprise that much more hilarious and in-joke fun fact to laugh about amongst the series hardcore fans. This show gets insanely good. I'd say season 1 the show is operating at about 30% of its' full potential which it begins hitting starting right at the season premiere of season 2 straight through to the end of season 5. Those 4 years are an amazing run and one of you two made the comparison that Eric and Donna are the Ross and Rachel of this universe which is pretty accurate. And like Friends, their relationship is what fuels the show's early run till season 5 when a whole other surprise relationship takes over the show and audience's imagination. Just like Friends. what
Donna's little sister was sucked into the Twilight Zone! Never to be seen ever again! With the two missing Richie Cunningham's older brothers playing the same brother. The Brady Bunch dog and weird cousin. The King of Queens wife's hot sister. LOL
When y’all said if fez doesn’t get a girlfriend he’s one of those people who will stock people in 20 years well you’re not far off just wait few seasons and you’ll get there XD also wait till Star Wars comes out on this show Eric gonna be even funnier
Our first and only look at Donna's younger sister Tina, we also got a mention of her older sister I think it was in the birthday episode when they were talking about Laurie and how she had left and Kitty was upset about it, but those are the only two mentions of Donna's sister we get I think after this episode on Woods it becomes a brand-new canon that she's an only child, it's so confusing and we were all confused the first time we watched it I think they just rewrite the show so that she is an only child, I guess in the earlier episodes they were still figuring things out, but the rest the show everything is pretty the same so it's kind of weird that that would be the only difference, they had her be a middle child and then they had her being an only child, so I'm not really sure what happened with Donna There, as that's the only real thing about these episodes, of course there are other little minor things as well but that's like a pretty major thing that we only see her sister in this one episode and then she's never brought up again just like how the older sister was in a throwaway line in a previous episode never to be mentioned again, but I'm pretty sure that's the only thing that's drastically altered, because like Eric and his sister have always been siblings, we don't really know too much about the rest of the gang other than that hide isn't only child and that Kelso has an older brother or probably several siblings I think but whatever reason Donna had the biggest shift, I'm actually really impressed though in how they were able to have everything be pretty consistent from the first episode on Woods, that's what actually makes it a pretty good show is that it stays relatively consistent like it already knows what it is even by the first couple of episodes. That's how you know it's going to be a good show, when they've decided what the show is before it comes out with only making minor changes to it as it goes along, that's usually quite common where the first season of a show or the first couple of episodes of the first season are a little bit different before the whole canon universe gets established, and another example is Gilmore girls and how Kirk wasn't Kirk until episode five, I think it's very common as they try to figure things out, but that 70s show is a bit like how I met your mother where everything is pretty much already established was in the first couple of episodes and it basically remains the same throughout the entire show, they do make some changes later on, but like I said I don't really count the final season, again I think that's pretty common for most shows.
Flowers are a part of the 70s. Groovy, flower power, flower children...hippies. Thats why the flowers exist. Luckily they slowly start phasing some of the weird transition scenes out. it gets better
@@StMargorach are you seriously acting as if I don’t also have TH-camrs I wait for new videos for? I watch a channel that only posts once a week now 😂. Trust me I get it. You see, this never made sense to me... Donna's sister is supposedly 14 and Hyde says it's illegal when Fez is justifying coming onto her... But the next episode, they're all in school. It's not College either, so how is Fez hitting on Donna's sister illegal?? At max, they'd be 18 but Fez (outside of Jackie) Is the youngest and Kelso, I believe is the oldest. Kelso is 18 so that'd make Fez 17, possibly 16... That's not illegal. Hell it's not even weird at that point.
I didn't like Eric in the episode where he called Donna the b-word just because she didn't want to ditch the study hall. Doing the right thing doesn't make her the b-word.
You Know Cody from italian to Italian. I was thinking why don't You react to some Italian cartoon like Huntik, Gormiti or Winx Club (which Is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year)
7:24 I'm not putting my opinion here... just saying the way Midge (and most FIRST WAVE feminists) see it... The idea is "behind every great man is a great woman" and women let men think they run things, just like they let them think certain "suggestions" were the mans idea. It's a subtle manipulation. (Although later waves forgot about being subtle and took the OG ideas to a complete extreme)

Another one of my favorite shows as a kid!
And many battle of the network stars.
The "Eric gets a job" episode is the only time we see Donna's sister.
We do have a _mention_ later...
after that episode she just disappeared into thin air.
Thanos snapped her from existence
Like that time Topanga had a sister. Or Elaine. Or the Huxtables had 4 kids.
And she's smoking hot.
Flowers and peace signs were everywhere in the 70s, just symbols. Donna's mom is midge, and we don't discuss siblings in that family lol.
What did flowers symbolize in the 70s?
@springheartedtiger They were just everywhere, no clue why but it was a popular thing to use in patterns and drawing, I would assume it goes along with flower children aka hippies
the song Jackie keeps listening to in the basement is "Do You Feel Like We Do" by Peter Frampton. the album "Frampton Comes Alive" was a MONSTROUS seller in '76.
So she shouldn’t be hearing it in 70-71 when season one takes place…
Midge, Donna's mom was played by the late Tanya Roberts who appeared as one of the later Angels on the 1976 to 1981 ABC series Charlie's Angels.
The Kegger episode is such a legendary episode. Also I love Kitty and Red so much!
They are such a huge part of the show, and both are hilarious

I'll be driving past that particular "Playboy Club" in about an hour, lol.
Not actually a playboy club anymore, that got changed back in the 80s.

George Lopez show is hilarious
@@skylerloggins4902 "I know, huh?"
When it comes to TV Dad power levels, Red Forman is arguably the most powerful. Fear the foot.
Wowy commenting on Red not liking Bob, when Red just doesn't like ANYONE 🤣🤣🤣
ironically bob and red are inseparable
I think he quite likes kitty to be fair to him. That’s it though..
