- I hate this SOB! Full of random unpredictability that I got surprised by unexpected moves. This is the only fight I won't bother with no damage. I am not spending days just to deal with his BS shenanigans. This fight is actually easy if you understand its mechanic but nailing no damage is a game of heartache that I am not willing to put up with.

Man no fair lol, had to customize just to beat him while being turned into Swiss cheese by his gun multiple times. Only managed to beat him with bahamut and finishing touch.

This fight is the epitome of patience and learning Rufus moves. It’s so satisfying when you dodge his up close gunshot, after he zooms in on you. Awesome fight and I was blown away to see Braver instantly stagger! This fight was painful for me, I built ATB with ranged like you did and I summoned Odin to Zantetsuken phase 2, but even then if my timing wasn’t good Rufus would survive on low HP and dominate me in phase 2. I think the beauty of this fight is there’s really no way you can cheese it, you have to play smart, time your moves and evade well.
This fight is also an epitome of rage-inducing coz Rufus is so f**king unpredictable. There's no telling what sort of moves he will use and I've been caught out many times coz he did the opposite of what I thought he was going to do.
Braver only instantly staggers him if you hit him when he executes unblockable moves. Trying to Braver him outside of his unblockables will only get your ass countered to oblivion lol
Your counterstance at the start of phase 2 just helped me beat this on my no materia run! Thank you man!! Without that, the 2nd phase was such a pain. Can’t wait to show you. I literally just beat it!! haha

overall, this fight is way less difficult than I thought it once was 😅 the 2nd phase was still super annoying, but your strat helps me get rid of his dog so fast. Thanks man!

Great try ! You should try with Fury Ring . You can have Rufus really close to the stagger phase too on the beginning on phase 2 . We will kick the ass of this rich kid soon with no damage 😂
I just did this fight using HP->MP swap last night and did more attempts than I care to admit. Clouds 1v1s are probably some of the most fun boss fights in the game.

@@cloudcs it took exactly 4 finishing touch and some insane luck when I fucked up but we got there.
I mean the only logical next step is no materia, no armour, as a frog.

You can do that in remake too, cast him sleep then braver, insta stagger

I just spent several hours trying to get no damage run and gave up. Too much random nonsense. Hes super easy to beat once you know the gimmicks but like you said no damage isnt worth the headache.

In ff7 remake, you can use sleep on rufus 🤔🤔 maybe 'stop' also works on him!
Need to check assess info first to confirm but if I remember correctly they made him immune to sleep and stop this time

No Damage is completely unreasonable on this without materia. With, I think you could do it. I almost did after several attempts but took some light guard damage and got cocky with Thunderclap and tried to precision block it only to get clapped for full damage. Otherwise I just interrupted everything with Triple Slash, built up ATB when he was trying to break out of pressure, then reset to neutral and did it again. Having First Strike alone saves a ton of headache. Don't even bother without materia man. You've already proved you're beyond what most mortals can do.

Do you prefer Punisher Mode in Remake or do you like how Punisher mode is in Rebirth?
I kinda miss the impactful hit of Remake's punisher but the new punisher comes with an array of tools that can get you out of harm's way. The sliding slash he does when switching back to operator has helped me avoid a handful number of attacks. If Rebirth punisher feels nerf, they throw in Prime Mode to compensate and its powerful berserk effect makes both Remake and Rebirth punisher look like child's play
@@cloudcs I will admit I do like Punisher Mode in Rebirth is good, I do like that the attack Cloud does when he switches is his Remake Disorder switch to Punisher, and yeah Prime Mode does help make it better, it does take a bit of getting used to but I do think it’s improved and makes it fun to use a lot, maybe part 3 will somehow mix both punisher moves who knows

This fight actually stopped my hard mode run in its tracks and made me quit the game for a bit, then I watched videos of people doing it easily on TH-cam and part of me wants to quit life now too

I just spent about 3-4 hours trying this fight over and over again. Got SO damn close so many times but darkstar just HAS to corkscrew my ass into a corner every time after which Rufus follows up and one shots me. Fuck this stupid fucking fight. I’ll try again tomorrow.

The lightning bolt animation looks cooler than the Remake's explosion imo. It's like Cloud summoning a thunder from out of nowhere lol
How can you level up your weapon?
You earn character-specific manuscripts to gain SP point by completing sidequests in hard mode and beating character-specific legendary combat simulator challenge. Once you obtain all manuscripts you will reach max weapon level
