Big credit to you, brother Brian. THAT is quite a job to accomplish by one man in 100 degree heat. I'm just fixing my garage door opener and I'm crying... Now go take a break and get some cool water.
Hi Brian! Viewer fan here ! Sir it is all good ! Enjoy your post and your Demeanor. Dude I am a old man who thinks like… you and just wants to do what I we can to enjoy life!! Thank you for adding to mine by being a poster of good stuff! Well done hope all goes and stays well well for you and yours!
Another job done, sounds good. Hindsight about putting a new clutch in when you had it apart before is easy now, try to save some money and makes a little more work. Oh well, done now, that’s a nice looking clutch and flywheel setup. See how it lasts pulling a loaded trailer, hope it does as well as the old one. Thanks for sharing, see ya on the next one.
I have a ’99 Dodge Cummins and found that the factory clutch (in front of an NV4500) is only barely adequate. I am running 60 hp over factory and the only way the clutch can hold the power is if the clutch is fully engaged before the power is applied. Try a “slipper” engagement under full power and the clutch will not hold it.
My dad had a friend that worked in the factory where they made clutch friction discs and told my dad he'd get him one for his Mercedes Vanand especially meke the friction material layer a little thicker to last longer....thinking he was doing him a favour........long story short it welded itself solid😮😅😂....was obvs rubbing the whole time....the guys heart was in the right place.😂
👍👍 ..i do have a '92 that's still in resto mode with a G360 and a 12.25 clutch?.. from a 4500 truck...idk why that got installed...i think it got installed when the 360 blew out the bearings...idk...it lasted for 9 months until i crashed the truck🤣... been off the road since then... it may get an auto whenever it goes back on the road, but anyway... thanks for another video.. have a good day 👊
Is it possible to get the old clutch relined? My be good to have a spare laying around. Nothing but the disc looked worn out, really! Thanks for taping this video in that nasty heat, Brian!
Yes I said in the description the only drawback was it shifted slower and made more noise. If it lasts twice as long and pulls the trailer without slipping it will be a worthwhile trade.
@bcbloc02 sorry I didn't read the description but I put a south bend duel in my cummins on a fresh build and for the last few years I was telling Myself it's got to be because of the clutch mass . Thanks for the reply
I have my 92 Chevy 1 ton shop truck with the 350 and NV4500. The stock hydraulic clutch is so hard to push. Maybe I should call Southbend Clutch and see if they have a lighter pressure plate or something. ----Doozer

Nice clutch Brian.
Definitely a big upgrade.
Good job.
Have a great day.👍👍💯
Another job well done there Brian. Pretty country to tour as well. Thanks for the video keep on keeping on.
A mini big truck shifting sequence , heavy flywheel/clutch hard syncros,, the slow pause helps.
Old Truck running good! To be honest I like my old 2001 Dodge better than my 2016!

It does the job. Guess you'll just have to keep fixing what wears out, until its all rebuilt except the knobs on the radio.
Radio doesn’t work anyhow. Lol
Nice clutch, this dual disc Getrag with flywheel looks to be heavy duty. Shifting slower is a reasonable tradefoff. Thermometer in the center vent!
thats a mighty fancy looking clutch there mate!

Set of those jobs behind you. Take care my friend.

Nice proper clutch that is! And that cummins drowns out the hissin noise of those crickets or whatever they are!
I believe they are cicadas.
If only it was as much fun and as easy as it looked in the video. lol South Bend makes some Transmission parts. Hope it holds up a long time for you!
good video brian
7:35 clutch job not bad at all.

Awesome!
Southbend is my clutch manufacture of choice. I must be old because I don't even run dual disks anymore lol. I do envy you two wheel drive guys.
thanks for sharing
More videos please
Did the duel disk make your shift change slower to engage. It seemed to me that the duel disk made the speed matching take longer

That is an awesome looking clutch setup! it will probably outlast the truck. Also, Recommended channel: www.youtube.com/@HaxbyShed
Good for at least another million miles.
easiest clutch swap I've ever seen.
The bolts were all fresh from me just having the trans out to rebuild it. I knew I should have put a clutch in it then!
@@bcbloc02 You know what they say, hindsight is the only perfect science! 😃
Which Wright location do you work at?
Shelbyville
How much?

Might as well have a real clutch for a real powerplant. That'd won't slip for a long time. Blessings
That pilot bearing looks quite small it must do allot of work in its life i wonder if they fail regularly
Just remember, 500 easy miles 🤣
All my miles are easy. 😎
The old dodge tells the clutch you are the weakest link goodbye
So did you find some one that could mill grind turn your fly wheel? 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the look Bri. Enjoyed!
