I haven't stayed here in quite a while (right after it was remodeled into GN) and realize I haven't even been in there in quite a while. May be my reminder to check it out again.
I always stay at the Golden Nugget. They give me 3 days of comped rooms. The last time I stayed they gave me a free upgrade to a suite. The deck is my favorite place to have lunch during the summer.
I believe about 10 years ago, GN offered “H20” suites which are right on the pool deck - they had slider doors that let you out right to the pool. I don’t think they’re offered anymore!
Thanks for showing us around the GN. I usually dont go to this casino but i have been there for the live entertainment on the deck. Maybe I'll have to check it out closer on my next trip.
Thank you so much! 😊 There is a elevator there by chart house that goes to the ground level I assume that’s why the door is open. The casino prob doesn’t want any doors locked coming in lol 😂
Soo beautiful view of the marina and Atlantic City Jennifer😊the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City honestly looks more luxurious and bigger than the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. I also had issues with the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street because they charge $2 dollars to play the blackjack tables like a side bet and I thought it was a ripoff The marina and harbor that I look at in my hometown of San Diego I don't see that many sailing and fishing boats. What I mostly see is the US Navy's Pacific Fleet with Warships and Aircraft Carriers
Thank you so much for sharing! Not sure if it’s bigger than Fremont. It’s def less busy very chill atmosphere. Gorgeous views from the marina. Lots of private yachts but also not far they have dolphin watches sunset cruises etc.. beautiful place 🤩
I like that you travel during the week as well, less people n better rates. Your like me, u like the suite better versus a standard room. I like space when I'm away from home when I travel. I like the view as well of the city. Have a great trip. Alita
Altita, maybe it's me, but if I can't get a suite, I like a standard 2-bed room. For some reason, King bed rooms seem like not much room, and I like a lot of space in a room. Traveling alone, I've booked a one bed room, but they're almost always very small. 2-bed rooms seem to give me more room. Maybe they're making King sized bed rooms smaller, but I remember it's hard to 'get around that bed.' Also, I grew up on housekeeping and new linens, bed sheets, everyday in hotels. I use one bed for one night, and use the other bed for the second night, complete with new linens, if I don't get housekeeping everyday.
Agree! I prefer double rooms as well. Seems lately the king beds are cheaper maybe they figure less people will occupy a king room? I like to have the extra bed in case I have any of my family decide to visit me last min :)
@@richardhales92 that's cool. Ur like me wanting space in a room. I like that idea getting a 2 bedroom suite where u can take turns sleeping in a different bed each day. I do travel alone as well n got to be comfortable when I travel. Sometimes as a Marriott member, I get a free king suite upgrade being a gold status member. You should check into it
Another Great video! haha YES, Love that Sparkler caught on!! :) We stopped by Gold Nugget once, never stayed yet and loved The Deck bar! You inspired Julie and I to try playing video poker at bars to get easier free drink access lol. We're planning a mid winter trip in February just to have some pre-Atlantic City fun before the summer, hope to see you and Jeff around town! :P :D
Hey Jen. AlexfromAC here!!! Wow they did you wrong by just upgrading you to a Marina Suite. They should have given you a Crystal Suite!!!! Especially if it was a Tuesday or Wednesday Crystal Suites are only available from floors 4 thru 14 I think and they are a separate tower and more luxurious than the marina suites that are in the same hallway as the regular rooms I haven’t been to the Golden Nugget since August as I was on a bit of a losing streak there in the casino 😂 👎. But I am still at Chairman level so I have free rooms any day of the week during the fall and winter months. But I’m happy to see you add another Golden Nugget video on your channel. Still hoping to run into some time!!!!
Hey Alex for AC! 😊 ohh I didn’t know about the crystal suites.. someone just asked me about another tower.. I never spotted one! Hope to run into you as well! We keep missing each other. I’ll Be back early Dec but will be on the boardwalk this time 😊
Hello Jennifer, both the basic room and the suite you received were renovated about 15 years ago when this property was transformed from the Trump Marina into the Golden Nugget. Back in the day, these rooms were considered very nice. Now they look dated, just like the rest of the property. I used to stay at this property all the time, and always hated those showers! Unfortunately, this Golden Nugget draws an older crowd, it's very boring, and not much to do there.
Thank you so much for the info. I wasn’t sure the upkeep was great. They weren’t in bad shape but def weren’t modern. Beautiful views from the marina 🤩
I have only been there once for dinner, but I really like how they use the reds and yellows in their decor. I just think that it's a shame that the pool season is so short for an oceanside resort city like AC. Oh well, I guess there's nothing they can do about that.
Can I ask what you said to the front desk when you asked for an upgrade? Did you complain about the previous room or say, "I need a little more room!?' In my opinion, it wasn't much better.
I used to stay at Golden Nugget once in a while but i never had much luck gambling there. There are less gamblers there so there is a good chance you will be by yourself on a blackjack table, which is not as good as you can lose money faster while getting rated by the casino. The beds are comfortable there. Another thing that bothered me was that there are very few slot techs around so there are many broken buttons on video poker machines and no one around to fix them. Golden Nugget is very profitable on the online casino and sports gambling in New Jersey ( number 1 in fact, which surprised me as i review gambling stocks as i occasionally invest in them)
A lot of great info! Thank you for sharing. OMG I hate the sticky buttons! Lost a couple decent hands because of that in the past. I never won there either. Def like the pool tho!
That first room you were in is the exact room I get every time I stay at the Golden Nugget. Not the same room number of course but every part of it is the same. Goes to say I always book the cheapest as I only stay in the room to sleep. Unless they upgrade me to a suite for no cost I wouldn't pay for the upgrade. Just not worth it for me but I will take it for free. Sorry to say that has never happened to me. Seeing that Suite not sure that it was worth the $100.00 extra. The views from the room were very nice. Seems like I always get a view of the pool area. That door at the Chart House is always open as that is the way I go to get to the Deck so it is not a surprise to see that door open even when the Chart House is closed at the time. Seems like the Chart House has very strange hours. I have never dined at the Chart House but I know it is very popular and always crowded when it is open for business. I think it is very difficult to find dining options at the Golden Nugget and everything closes up early too. Not my favorite casino and I only stay there when I am planning to hang out at the Deck in the summer. The nice thing is parking is free when you stay at the hotel and it is a very easy process as long as you have your plate number. The casino floor I find is very small as well. I do like the more relaxed vibe of being on the bay side and just the view of the marina. Definitely a different feel than staying at the Casinos on the Boardwalk. Thanks for giving us the tour of the Golden Nugget.
Thank you for all of the info and sharing your experience. The deck was closed too I assume they keep it open because of the access in from the elevators. Sure they don’t want to have any entrance to the casino closed! 🤣 the suite was nice. Nothing mind blowing. Do you travel alone too?
@@JenniferSparksSavoy Yes I do travel alone. I find it is more enjoyable for me since I can do anything I want or go anywhere I want without needed a meeting of the minds, :)
Awesome! I know Golden Nugget is going through a bunch of renovations currently. The top three floors were just completed when I was there in June. They had also began modernizing the main passenger elevators, which were original from 1985… Something I was a bit sad about but I feel like I’m probably the minority there lol. I’d love to stay here if they would just pick it up and put it on the boardwalk haha. Still might stay there one day though cause it seems really nice especially with all the renovations there doing now. Do you think we could get a video staying at Showboat? I think that would be interested in givin the mixed reviews for the place.
Thank you for sharing! Yes I have never been to the showboat to stay only visit. I was intending on staying this trip but choose golden nugget instead. I will in the future. 👍
I have stayed at GN in Lake Charles, LA, Las Vegas, NV, Biloxi, MS and Cripple Creek, CO. Haven't been too impressed with their rooms. Resturant options are pretty good though.
hi jenny, thanks for the great video. your first room looks like the one we always get. i do like the colors but i think theyre redoing the whole tower? there was construction going on when we stayed. it woke us around 9 each day. was your sweet in the rush tower? i always wondered how you get in that tower. do you use the same elevators? i have never seen another elevator bank for that tower. we were there from sat night to tuesday morning. sunday night we went to dos caminos. we had gone there when it was at harrahs. so we figured wed try it again and it was totally amazing!! i got the dos caminos buritto and it was the best buritto i ever had!!! i cant Rember wifeys dinner but she loved hers too. price was extremely awesomely cheap too! this is our new to go to restaraunt. michael patricks is usally pretty good to. you will get offers if you gamble there!! BUT you have to book direct!! i learne4d after all these years the 3rd party booking doesnt do you any good when it comes to the benifits of upgrades and so on. anyhow cheers!!!
Hello! Thank you for sharing! I used the same Elevators. I don’t know of any other tower there. The suite was at the end of the hallway. Glad you enjoyed dos cominos! Sounds like you guys have fun. That’s what it’s all about right!? 😊👍🎰
this hotel/casino never appealed to me its just low ceilings thru out the casino, and just very cramped, I would have liked to have stayed there when it was trump marina though. I stayed there when golden nugget took over, I didn't like it, nice night skyline view, Thanx that always makes the video
Thank you! :) it’s fun in the summer nice pool and the deck is a good time if you like live music but I agree the vibe is really chill and it’s a small casino
I enjoy watching your atlantic city videos. I lived in New Jersey all my life and had been to atlantic city many times with my family. Due to a family tragedy i live in Florida now . I miss going to atlantic city
I don't like the material on the sectional sofas. When I see the material it was made of, faux leather?, I always think 'I don't like this room. It's cheap, but the price isn't.'
It was surprising comfortable :) i know what you mean tho. There are some that feel like outdoor furniture. Sure it’s easier for them to clean but I love a couch that is comfy!
Great tour! The suite had great views. It's almost worth it just for that. Lol I would rather listen to music instead of watching sports too.
