    Glad to see Dixon working on their brand identity and working to create some quality drums that sound and look good too. Compliments to Dixon. Those are a really good looking set of drums, that sound pretty good too I think. Price isn't bad either for North American maple wood drums. Quality wood.

    Great review. If they're good enough for Gregg Bissonette then they can't be bad. I do wish companies would stop going 12-16. The interval just doesn't work in my opinion it's trying to cover too much range in too few drums. I think you've got them tuned really well considering this. Someone else commented on weird overtone- I didn't hear it, it's just tuned a bit higher than you might expect; but I think that the drum takes it and it is well matched with the rack toms.

      Copeland use 10, 13 rt to 16 ft. Good choice! 😁

      @@drummerboyharm3078 Yeah- definitely 13"-16" is much better! 10 to 13 makes sense too👍

    Made in TAIWAN, no CHINA. I hate all Chinese products. That's important and... this Artisan is Dixon's flagship line. High-end, Taiwanese production, and its price and quality... it's a good enough drum. I really like Dixon.

      why you hate Chinese products ? what is wrong with China ? btw, people living in Taiwan are also chinese .

      @@ohrid59mk76 Are you 1 or 2 years old? Are you a child who lives without thinking? What? "Why do you hate it?" On the contrary, I ask, "why don't you hate it?" There is no normal person who likes China. There is a saying here in a proverb. "Good Chinese are dead Chinese." Hey, you just... naturalize in China and live there until you die.

    08:35 - OK maybe it's just an optical illusion from the camera angle?... but if not then personally I'd be a little nervous of that head collar and/or hoop bottoming out on those lugs with some heads or an older more stretched-out head.

    Great to see a NON shell pack..

    Sounds Ok, but if you're paying this much, I prefer a Ludwig Maple for sound. This kit doesn't make me go wow like a Tama Starclassic or even a Mapex in this price range for looks either. Still a nice kit.

    For £2379 they should offer us a thicker shells. At least 5-6mm. 4mm is too thin. This drum kit need a reinforcement rings, especially a floor tom.

    • @drummermatt9542

      If you look on their website they do offer thicker shells. You can customise your kit.

      I disagree, I had a DDrum USA custom that was approximately 4mm, with multiple thin plys, and that thing was boomy and fat. Don't knock it till you try it.

    • @vincentdesmarais3959
      @vincentdesmarais3959 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only thing I don't understand is why put die cast on a shell that was built to sing. Triple Flange all the way.

    • @ivanbajovic3476
      @ivanbajovic3476 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@vincentdesmarais3959 Yes, thin shells makes drums boomy and fat, but weak a little bit. If you listen Yamaha Maple Custom thick shell drums, you can feel the "weight" of the sound in your chest. And it's louder. Very similar explanation is about the cymbals.

    I'm becoming less of a fan of Dummer's Review because EVERYTHING gets a positive review and is a good value for the money. Minor quibbles here and there. I can appreciate this is mostly a showcase for new gear, which is good on its own. Maybe everything made today is very good for the money, and manufacturers won't submitt gear to Drummer's Review if the say otherwise. Just don't know what's an honest review anymore.

      Hi - we do call it as we see it. If there is something we don't like, in the same way we comment on the positives, we will say.

    To much expensive drum, not too good drums. Medium - cost and quality. Nothing special. Odery is much baters price and quality.
