You should do a tutorial on how to do a tutorial. I'm so sick of trying to learn something from someone who knows less then I do and what they do know they can't communicate. Your are such a perfection . such a pleasure to watch you.
Angela, it is incredibly generous of you to make this information downloadable for no cost! I have learned so much from you and I enjoy your videos greatly. Wishing you a safe and healthy Thanksgiving!
It doesn’t matter how long your videos are to me. Every time I walk away with new ideas because I’ve learned something else or I have a new perspective on an “old tool” that I already knew. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into helping so many of us learn to feel successful and satisfied with the work we do. Your efforts are truly priceless.
You my dear Angela are a wonder and I adore you and your work. I have learned so much from all if your videos and the incredible knowledge you share so freely. One if the biggest things is to relax have fun and stop worrying that it is not perfect. Can 't say that I am not still picking out points that don't match and umm, error wobbly quilting, but I am getting better at just having fun creating something beautiful. A heartfelt thanks to you take good care and stay safe!
I have learned everything I know from watching many of your videos. You basically taught me how cut.to piece, and quilt. I’ve never taken an in person class. QUILTING TRULY IS MY THERAPY. Thank you for sharing all your wisdoms, techniques and ideas. We love you❤️🙏
this is an older video and very informative. I have been wondering what the heck is Glide! Now I know. I used to shop Superior Threads all the time some years ago. It must be a newer one, but you have convinced me to try it. I think I’m a fan, I have bought your latest book, and just recently purchased some of your quilting rulers as I am learning to use my sit down long arm machine. thank you for sharing things you have experienced in this fun world of quilting!
I started with SoFine and nowuse it exclusively in my bobbin. For the last year, I have beel exclusively using Madeisa polyneon machine embroidery thread.. love love love it.
I really needed this class. I have a hard time learning about threads but you did a great job of explaining, I just got a long arm this year , have been enjoying all your videos…love all your free handouts…thanks…❤
So glad you share so willingly and videos are available after the chats. My work schedule typically does not allow me to view as they are happening. Thank you!
Angela, I have learned so much from you, but I would watch even if I didn’t. Your videos and live chats are like visiting with a friend! You encourage me to try new things, and I am beginning to believe that I can enjoy quilting on my long arm! Thank you for providing the helpful videos.
As I watched this video I picked the lemon ice for my white background. It's so perfect thanks! I had NO idea what I was actually going to use. Thanks Angela I have learned so much from your videos!!
I really enjoy the chats. I feel like you're sitting here in my sewing room with me. Hope to meet you in person some day at a quilt show or maybe even at your shop. I'm glad you were able to start up the Midnight Quilter too. Thanks Angela for sharing your talents.
Love the chats, they are so informative. Always learn something!! I'm so happy you brought back the Midnight Quilter. Thank you for all you do to help us.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was just what I needed. This clarified so much for me and definitely going to laminate the print out. Blessings, Phillane
Thank you Angela! I’m new to quilting and love your instruction. I am finishing my third quilt in two months thanks to your encouraging videos they aren’t perfect but they are finished! And I’m not telling where the mistakes are 🤣 You made me courageous to machine quilt on my 64 year old Singer that I bought with my mom when I was 18 ♥️ and she is humming right along with me in my retirement 👵🏻😍. Thank you thank thank you!
I have started making quilts to donate to the Linus Project. You gave me the confidence to do this. All of your tutorials have enable me to keep on quilting. Thank you so much!
I love your show, you are so down to earth with a kick of humor! I have tried a lot of the threads you talked about today. I agree with what you said. I relay prefer Superior threads to some others. I haven't had any luck with the aurifil 50 weight threads on the long arm, but it is definitely my favorite for piecing! Love seeing the midnight show again!
Thank you for being you. As a long arm quilter I too adore So Fine. At your recommendation, that is all I used for 2 years until I became more comfortable. As a hint, I use multiple types of threads so have several bobbin cases so I don't have to adjust tension as frequently. For example, I have one for magna-glide bobbins since you remove the tension spring for them (the magnet in the bobbin eliminates the need for the tension spring). I have one for So Fine and one for 40 weight thread. It eliminated a great deal of frustration and allowed me to quilt faster with more consistent tension results.
I am a beginner quilter and I am enjoying your videos (old and new) so much!! I have three of your rulers and they have become my "go to" rulers in the learning process. I can't always watch you live, but I look forward to seeing the next publication and please keep up the great work!!
Glide thread is my favorite for quilting. Thank you for getting me hooked on it some time ago. I use Maxi thread for piecing. Thank you for not being what I call a thread snob. Your attitude towards quilting is why I love watching you. Thank you also for being an educator even for us old timers.
Excellent!!!!!!! I highly recommend watching this video! I have been a quilter for 40 years and seamstress for even more plus majored in Textiles and still learned so much!
First I've missed you Angela. I bought some polyester thread off the internet a couple years ago and they constantly broke in my machine so I got all cotton threads and no problem.
I love aurifil thread especially for piecing because even though it is 50 weight it acts more like 60 weight because it is 2 ply. Your live chats are so informative. I always learn something new! Thank you Angela.
Seeing each type of thread & the stitched samples was so helpful. And the samples are beautiful! Thanks for all the info & the download. Have a great day.
Oh I would love some of that fabric...I bought the stash builder at the party and thought I was getting this line. Love It! Thank you for all the great information.
Such a timely topic for me THANK YOU. I’ve been quilting for years but since the pandemic I’m taking my time to learn new techniques and with them come thread challenges so I’ve been experimenting with new threads and needles. I love your sense of humor and that you’re an expert who doesn’t take herself too seriously. I’m a fan.
Thanks for all of this information. I feel I’m still a beginner quilter, but thanks to you I have reached out, and stretched myself, and tried things I thought I would never try thanks to you. And of course, they have turned out beautiful.
I always love your advice~ I will just look right for the orange aurafill! I'm just about to quilt up your All Roads pattern!! I made it bigger and now have quilting anxiety- lol! I've worked so hard on the piecing and don't want to mess it up with my pathetic quilting skills - but in your famous words, "A finished quilt is better than a prefect quilt!" Oh, and pick me! Lol! I can't wait to check out all your new fabrics!! Way to go-! Thanks for sharing your creativity with the world!
Thank you so much for this video, I have been searching for information about threads. I machine quilt, just getting back into after taking a break. Love your videos , so glad to see midnight quilter back in action!!
I have recently found your live chats and this is the second one I have watched; thank you very much for a very informative and helpful session (plus I have bookmarked this for future reference too ) 👍😊
This was extremely helpful. I have been quilting for years and learned so much. I must love thread almost as much as Angela because that presentation flew by. I could have listened another hour!!
I have found that if you use a lower quality cotton thread on a longarm, it sheds worse than my dog! What a mess! You inspired me to use glide during the FMC and it was so clean and neat. Did require tension adjusting and a different needle, 110, but so worth it!
I learned a lot about thread by trial and error . Sure would have been easier to have seen your chat when I started quilting; in the days when I thought thread was just thread. Great job, interesting take on threads and brands. However the most important thing I take away is your quote, " I'm only an expert of my own opinion"
I too like the Aurifil thread and my machine likes it as well. When I first got my Pfaff Creative Sensation Pro I started using Essential cotton thread and I had some trouble with thread breakage and a lot of lint. Went to using the Aurifil as suggested by a friend and my problems were settled. I have trouble getting to the live chats but enjoy watching the videos later. Thanks so much for providing your excellent knowledge base for us, as well as the enthusiasm that is always present. So enjoy your videos. Have a great Thanksgiving and be safe.
I've used Razzle Dazzle on several quilts. I first stitched with water soluble thread to show on the back where I needed to stitch, since you're stitching on the back side of your quilt sandwich. Wind the thick thread on the bobbin. You might want to not go thru all the tension spots on the machine. Instead just hold the thread and pinch slightly and hold taunt between your fingers and the bobbin. Use a matching color on top, but a thinner weight, like 50. Leave a long tail at both the beginning and the end so you can pull the Razzle Dazzle to the back and tie a knot on the back to secure it. I just stitched some slower, but you can easily make curves. Sharp points don't work as well. Experiment with some of the embroidery stitches on your machine. Pick those that are more open. You'll find out rather fast which ones work and which ones don't. Razzle Dazzle really makes a noticeable line of stitching. It's fun to try.
Thank you Angela, that was very helpful. I have always used 50wt. because I didn't know how to use the other wts. I'm going to hang onto this print out. I know I wouldn't remember it otherwise. Thanks again.
Sorry to miss it live. Just thought I’d throw in my favorites too. Love Bottom Line in the bobbin with Aurifil 50 wt on top. Also Mettler, silk finish is great on top, but a bit thicker like a 40 wt. Needle favorite is Janome Purple needle. (Also a 90/14.)
Karen Brown from Just get it done quilts quoted you in her interview with Anita Zobens in the 31st minute! Love getting to know this quilting community. 💕
So much good info! Thank you for this video and I would love one about tension and speed. I am running into needle shredded thread and it is very frustrating.

Love prewound bobbins. Less bobbin changes, and tension is better because the winding is more consistent.

Thread is now FUN and no longer just a necessary item! Thanks Angela for sparking the creative fire 🔥❤️
Love Love Love! So glad these are here even after the live chat. Thanks Angela keep on drinking, I mean quilting.
I really like the tri-colored dresden plate. Fussy looking without being difficult. Just my style!!
I really enjoy the chats. I feel like you're sitting here in my sewing room with me. Hope to meet you in person some day at a quilt show or maybe even at your shop. I'm glad you were able to start up the Midnight Quilter too. Thanks Angela for sharing your talents.

Have watched this a few times, and also watched with a friend. Such good information -- and so very clearly explained. Can't thank you enough!!! :)
Thread net is a new concept!! LOVE THIS! My sulky threads fall and its so hard but I LOVE the threads.
Hi, I'm from Goiânia/Goiás/Brazil

Those fabrics from your new collection are absolutely beautiful!!!
Such a great information help. Quilting is so challenging when the thread isn't right.

Thank you for a great guide and making understanding threads easier!
I am so glad you are doing these videos. Very helpful.
I’m using superior threads glitter thread on my Christmas quilts. Totally looks like tinsel with strait line quilting.
Love, love, love all of your videos!!! Keep it up!! ❤️❤️
