- Christopher Hitchens, contributing editor to Vanity Fair and the Atlantic Monthly, discusses his current paperback, "God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything." The book was a New York Times Bestseller and a finalist for The National Book Award. Program from Sunday, April 26, 2009.
In death, Hitchens gained immortality... in his writings, the internet, and in our memories. I never get tired of this guy.

I knew very little about Hitchens until a couple of months ago, and discovering him is a revelation. Such a massive loss, and he'll be remembered for a long, long time.

It has been said that what distinguishes the great is not so much IQ but their ability to recall and remember within context. Thus, the ability to show similarity as well as to make distinctions. That certainly describes Christopher Hitchens. The amazing consideration is the willingness of so many to accept so much less. I must say, one would be hard pressed to find a better clip than this to send someone who does not know of Christopher Hitchens. Or of the role of discourse too.

I found Christopher a year after he died. I was gutted that his brilliant mind was no longer with us, but thankful we can still listen to his words of wisdom.

I’ve watched this interview countless times and every time I do I feel sad that this giant intellect is gone but also very glad that he existed and that he left us with the wonderful legacy of his writing.

Yet you can't prove the existence of your lord and savior.
Yet you call Mr. Hitchens is a liar in your view. Your entire worthless existence is based on blind faith and the unknown. I am just as confident that there isn't a God, as you're in God. It can never be proven, yet you make enemies of people who don't swallow the unproven. A court of law exists solely on evidence and jot hearsay, I believe in evidence and you can't prove to me God exists.
I am really annoyed with myself because I have just discovered this man, two years after his untimely death. I am on a Hitchens video hunt and I am stunned with his unbelievable mind and his wide knowledge. A great human being, passionate about humanity.

I often wonder what he would think about the prominent issues of today, like Pope Francis, for example, who so many are fawning over right now.
