Варто пам’ятати, що назви кави - це іншомовні незмінні іменники-неістоти, які в українській мові належать до середнього роду.

Дякую за ролик. Загалом позитивне враження. Але що це за маячня про те, що Церква вороже ставилася до кави? Збите молоко у філіжанці з капучино нагадувало каптур (капюшон, cappucio італ.). Одже, капучино - це кава у каптурі. З капуцинами, монахами, вбрання яких також має каптур, це не має нічого спільного, хіба що асоціативний збіг. Раджу вам обережніше користуватися Вікіпедією і не розповсюджувати фейків.

I'm Italian-born and had never heard about that etymology for the word, but she may have a point. What I've always heard is that this drink reminded people of those monks - who were a common sight all over Italy for many centuries - because of the colour of their habit. They were known as "Cappuccini" because their habit included a hood - "cappuccio".
The monks' habit looks darker than the cappuccino we're familiar with now, but the coffee-to-milk ratio may have been higher at first (or their habits lighter, or both). Besides, coffee was actually considered sinful in many parts of the western world at different points of history. It's possible that all these etymologies conflated into one word: a coffee drink with a "hood" of steamed milk, whose colour recalls that of a Capuchin monk's habit, which can't possibly be sinful because it's diluted with milk.

@@1midnightfish Кава вважалась гріховним напоєм у протестанських країнах, особливо у кальвіністів, з цим я згодна. Але у католицьких? Можливо, вона вважалась непридатною для меню монашеських орденів, які мають дуже строгі правила в їжі. Молоко теж не пісна страва, і зробити каву більш придатною для посного монашеського меню за допомогою молока неможливо. Це просто якась байка)))
