The audio in this video was recorded with in-ear binaural microphones. If you wear headphones, your mind won't be blown, but it will go, "woah."

Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly test vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, you'll see! Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later!

I've owned one for a a couple months now, no regrets. I feel like its much better deal than most small compacts. It just lacks all the flashy things that everyone likes nowadays. But this car will last a lifetime guaranteed, especially with that warranty. Be nice if they had the 2.4 liter with a manual option for more output.

You know it's nothing special, pretty basic, but I think Mitsubishi is good at just giving us a nice simple car. Nothing flashy, nothing tech-heavy, just a simple, no BS car that people can appreciate. Simplicity is really the best thing about Mitsubishi's cars, and you can't go wrong with that. Even though we give crap to Mitsubishi for making cars that feel over 10 years old, you can appreciate that you can give get in and drive it easily. Plus, the Mitsubishi reliability and super good warranty is there.

I got my 2017 Outlander sport over a year ago and agree with what you say! Still has that new car smell XD funny that you mention it. I also agree with the steering feel and how it feels hydraulic, it truly shocked me to learn it was electric. Got my base with a manual for $15.9k which is honestly unheard of cause the sticker is of $20k

Who would choose this over other compact SUV's?
I recently drove a new Nissan Altima with the CVT for my job and I thought the CVT would be atrocious as i only like conventional automatics and manuals, BUT the CVT actually wasn't bad, under normal acceleration you hardly notice it and under full throttle it isn't bad.

I have zero faith in Mitsu right now, but I like that they put real metal shift paddles on the column...Mitsu is in the car business, but it is as if they don't want to put max effort into anything...I believe everything they make that has AWD should have an EVO 8/9/10 based/derived trans/wheel control system - beat Subaru at their own game...I also believe they need to revive the VR-4 line and inject some wow factor back into their line-up; hit the market hard when no one is looking. Mitsu needs to build back public confidence (in N America) and make people "want" them and not have to settle for them...the other thing I don't understand is that shiny piano black radio trim on top of the dash that will catch every bit of sunlight and reflect it into the driver's eyes; HUGE oversight on their design dept...bring back the '90s Mitus in a modern but not bloated way.

K03sport Mitsubishi is in the process of pulling out of N America. They never sold well here anyway. They are focusing on where they do sell well and that is Asia and South Africa. I do agree that thry are producing garbage and has been since around 2011. I own an 04 Ralliart and it's still beating brand new Honda Civics. I do however like this SUV. It's spacious and is simple enough. I like simplicity in my cars. Someday I'll own and Evo 7 though.

Prior to 2017, the Outlander Sport was the only car produced in America by Mitsubishi. The Lancer line was produced in Japan and was to be discontinued in August of 2017. The Mirage G4 is produced in Japan as well but was introduced to America in 2016 meanwhile it was available to Asia, parts of Europe, and Australia since 2012. In 2019, Mitsubishi reentered the Mexican market after leaving. Mexico is apart of N. America as you probably knew. The process to pull out was set in stone.
      Timeline without dates:
      2009- Ralliart quits Dakar
2014- Mitsu sells over 100,000 cars for the first time since 2007
2015- Mitsubishi ends the Mitsu Motors Credit of America subsidiary
2015- Mitsubishi ceases operations in Mexico
2015- Mitsubishi closes the only production plant in N. America
2016- Mitsubishi introduced the Mirage G4
2016- Nissan buys controlling interest in Mistubishi
2017- Mitsubishi ceases production of all Lancers and halts production by Ralliart (they made the evo and ralliart trims)
2018- sales of the cross overs increase as the market demands them
2019- Mitsubishi reenters the Mexican market
      2019- Ralliart enters Dakar
2019- Nissan plunges as its chairman Ghosn is indicted on felony charges and Renault tries to merge with Nissan to save the alliance between them, Nissan, and Mitsubishi
As much as I hate saying this, Mitsubishi N. America only survived 2015-2018 because Nissan threw billions at them. 2.8 billion to be exact. You can actually find a timeline for Mitsubishi by going to mitsubishicars.com I would also point to ralliart.com but they shut down that website a couple of months ago. Finding some of this shit was hard dude. I was like 2 seconds away from calling mitsubishis news bureu to get to the bottom of this shit.

When will reviewers stop whining unnecessarily about non-important things? This reviewer tends to lean heavily on the negatives vs. the many positives. It appears many reviewers 'cut & paste' what they here from others and incorporate the same into their own reviews. Sad. The Outlander Sport is a great vehicle, with many attributes, which were completely missed by this reviewer. Sad again.

I have the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE ( 2.4) I haven’t had one problem not one single problem and it is now almost 6 yrs old
Gas Milage has been better then advertised all these years
I get between 32-35 mpg on the highway depending on my speed
Its not fast but who cares
I have no problem getting on the highway and it is plenty quick when wanting to speed up
The CVT doesn’t bother me at all
I do change the CVT fluid every 30K and also change the inline or external CVT filter every 40 K
It may be boring but you know what is exciting ?
Paying a cheap price and having to repair nothing
      That’s exciting.
