The ponytail pulled forward for a quick trim works for me. The trick is the position of the initial rubberband. If it's pulled to the very front on top of forehead, u won't catch the lower middle and back hair. It's quick and easy way to trim btwn salon trips. Saved my life during quarantine. I wouldn't do it like that each time for years. Nope.

I made the mistake of watching this video in bed while my baby and husband are sleeping. I woke both of them up when I burst out laughing at the girl with the hair band. When you laughed I lost it haha.
The hair extension bangs was hilarious. The botched cut was the icing on the cake.

Looking at the pink haired girl trimming her dried ends in ponytails. In the cutting shot the hair is perfectly straight across, it looks like the wig they cut the bangs on earlier. I think they curled her hair to hide the fact there was no cut at all!

My Mom grew up during the depression and bowl cuts were the standard way of cutting a child's hair. But they used larger and deeper bowls.

i wouldn't wear the fake bobs out, but i think its good for someone thinking about cutting it short to see if they like it short. i know the end product would look different but it gives them a general idea before they cut it.
The one with the two ponytails above one another is something I do a lot! I've got a shoulder-length bob-cut and I sometimes wish my hair was a little longer. Well, that's the solution for me! It works super well if done correctly. Just make sure you hide that lower ponytail well. 👍☺️

I knew all of it was garbage, but I’ve been cutting my own hair for 30 years already. My 16yr old daughter came to me and told me she wanted to try the ponytail hack for long layers and I shut that down immediately!!! 😂🤣😂 Told her I’d be happy to cut long layers for her but she wasn’t to ruin her hair with BS she sees in the internet. I told her go look for a video of a real person trying it and see how goddamn awful it actually turns out. She almost peed herself laughing at some of the fail videos out there 😂🤣😂🤣

I think the bob without cutting is a very good idea for everyone (like me) who loves her long hair but still wants to try out something new just for a day
I also have waist length hair and have done the roll-up-to-Bob-length-hair trick. It was a different style I could wear without cutting my hair. And if, during the day, it started getting long strands that would whisp out... meh, just take it down and and brush it out. Then it had a bit of a soft wave-curl to it. A two-for-one hair day!

I remember about 5 years ago there was a conair product that did the false bob hairstyle. I used it once for a play (I was playing a male character for 3 musketeers) because I didn't want to cut my long hair for a role. I haven't used it since because it looked so bad off-stage 😂

9:44 I started to cut my own hair with this technique when the pandemic started and to be honest I was pleased with the result. Not a salon haircut,of course, but mine end up decent 🤷🏻♀️

I just love your reactions to this! 5 minute crafts are so dumb and fake. They bulk produce these videos in a warehouse in Russia under different channel names, repost the same videos in diff compilations to boost views etc. They have these millions and millions of views for makimg misleading and sometimes dangerous hacks you know people will try.

Edit: @ 7:55, that's not even her hair that she is cutting. If you look at the ends, it looks frizzy and dry, but when she cuts them, they look sleek, and it's only a tiny amount. All that hair would not produce just a tiny amount like that. So all they did was style her hair. Why are people fooled by this?!

I learned a long time ago never to trust anything on 5-minute hacks 🤣 and I certainly wouldn't trust them with my hair
I think I'm the only one who thought the clip in extension/diy fringe and covered headband was a good idea!! I did think to myself 'oooh, that could work' right before you said 'this is really really bad! “ lol
I think what we need is a model head, maybe with black hair, and a chalk line that you cut upon for those daft unicorn/scrape all your hair up one-snip haircuts.. . That way we'd see just where all the hair falls when it's been cut! Some of these videos, either due to thick hair or trickery, manage to pull it off and make it look convincing.. When the fact is, it rarely works!
Re the faux bob, I did try that out for an hour or so, just to see if I liked short hair, I didn't leave the house like it though, because yes - as you described, it was v Olivia Newton-John!

I used to put my sisters’ hair ( the ones who could grow long hair) into double ponytails back in the ‘60’s! I couldn’t grow my hair long because it was too curly!

EARLY I love ur vids :) you are soo amazing
I still use the unicorn ponytail cutting technique. Unlike in the video, it creates a V at the back, with layers, not a one-length U bottom line.
I tend to do three staggered ponytails. The first uses all the hair, the second is sectioned behind the ears and I cut just a little more off, the third is sectioned just in front of the ears and frames my face. I cut the fringe separately.
This creates a face shaping curly shag. My curls help to disguise a lot of mistakes.
I would love to see him do these hacks just to show how bad they really are 😂

It was really hilarious when she put on the extensions and cut her bang! It was sooooooo uneven! 😅 but the most important thing is to pretend that that was the goal! That's the look you wanted. No matter what sh***t you do, be super confident and people will believe you.
