Hi, I have this problem "Object doesn't support this property or method". I tried everything: I'm in part design, the Excel cells setting is Number, the plain is selected but it still doesn't work. Can you help me, please?
hey bro! could you please tell me why the spline is not going through the coordinates specified . Is it always an approximate or if i increase the number of coordinates the spline will be accurate? Thanks. Gr8 video . Was helpful. More would be welcome :)
sir i m facing a problem when i import catia part into anays workbench the imported part is not fitting in xyz cordinate system properly image come in inclined form how can i make that part in xyz coordinate in ansys
i got the error from the microsoft visual basic for applications in excel while doing for point with spline ,saying :system error & H800... unspecified error . any help ????
hiii.......thanks for this stuff. But my doubt is hot to create coordinates in catia related notepad please any one guide me what is the path to create catia related notepad and what is the formate
i tried all the possibilities but i always have the error : " license information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in the design environment" i use CATIA V5R21 and EXCEL 2010 Can anyone help me please ?
hi, i had the error "system error &H80004005 (-2147467259)" even I had in a Catia part module. The points are showed up but the spline is unable to show up. The airfoil i used is NACA 0012 and the .dat file is from airfoiltools. the error shown in spline is Two successive points are geometrically identical. I checked the data but there is no identical points. Will it be the limitation of CATIA to read 7 decimal places value from EXCEL? Thank you in advance for any reply
Multiply all the coordinate by a n like 10 or etc to scale up the airfoil bigger. The curve wasn't smooth because it was scaled to 1mm. 1mms airfoil is too short.
I'm getting the same problem as Laxman Kunwor, I get the message from Microsoft Visual Basic for Apps saying "Type Incompatibilité" does anyone as the answer to this problem ? thx a lot
i followed all d steps but hv a small prob.....wen i give run in Macros am gettin as "Object doesn't support this property or method".....wt should i do plzzzz som1 help me....
I stumbled upon this problem as well. The solution is simple, but it is absurd that it does not work immediately. Open your part in a new window and try running the macro again, it should work. It doesnt like the product interface, even if you are already in a part
aapman555 Indeed you are right! Thank you very much! This is the answer for that problem! So, with the Part1 already open, open it again (after saving it)!
All points must be replace by commas! That removed the error for me. You can use the find and replace option if you don't want to replace them one by one.
Mathieu J-Dupuis don't worry i have a problem in visual basic i tried everything no hopes, so fortunately i found another way using a small tool called profscan. thanx for the reply by the way
Miguel Leal Too complex to go into detail but I think the general steps are input a single point into a sketch copy and paste how many you need, then. Insert a design table, import xyz values into excel table modify points. Done.
Most useful catia v5 video I saw since a long time for aero... and worked at Dassault for 5 years...
What a simple way you have explained, you saved my time. Awesome!!!
hey thank you so much... it was indeed very helpful for my team, "AeroVeda"... :)
Very nice and helpful tutorial. It helps ?
Thanks Brother...God bless you!
1. go to:
tools -> options ->performance
2. under 3Daccuracy, change proportional to 0.01
3. click ok
I think that makes it look a lot better
I had the same error. Thanks for the clearness!
Thanks for the tutorial, it was very helpfull.
it is only because you are in the wrong window. you need to select MECHANICAL DESIGN>PART DESIGN, then try to import.
hope this helps! :) :)
Thank you for this great tutorial
Hi,
I have this problem "Object doesn't support this property or method".
I tried everything: I'm in part design, the Excel cells setting is Number, the plain is selected but it still doesn't work.
Can you help me, please?
+Simone Papa I have the same problem, did you find a solution?
Run CATIA part design in background
thanks a lot my friend😀
Hmm... i also can't solve my model problems but it helpful!
WARNING The points will import in metric.
Does anyone know how to change that? I just scaled my excel values :\
It was very useful! thank you very much
Pretty nice totorial. Thanks a lot. I get en error in this line: Set myHBody = PtDoc.Part.HybridBodies.Add(). Do you have any idea what is about?
hey bro! could you please tell me why the spline is not going through the coordinates specified . Is it always an approximate or if i increase the number of coordinates the spline will be accurate?
Thanks.

Hi Rakesh. I am currently experiencing the same problem. Did you manage to solve it?
awesome tutorial
even i have d same prob.....were u able 2 overcome it...if yes plz help me too...
great stuff - thanks for sharing
thx ~ thx so much~keep up the good work
Thanks for the video ! its awesome !

any help ????
In the Macro part it does not show me the option for Feuil2.Main Help!!
And where do you get the "NACA" DATA? or where do you create them?
+francisco javier m-selig.ae.illinois.edu/ads/coord_database.html#N you can get that here.
dohyun lee thank you so much!!!
@youmightfindme: you need to open a module either part design or GSD or whatever.then it will work..!
excellent! Thank you sir!
the points are located at the metric equivalent
is there a way to fix this?
Have you've been able to get it work? I have the same error here!
hiii.......thanks for this stuff. But my doubt is hot to create coordinates in catia related notepad please any one guide me what is the path to create catia related notepad and what is the formate
i had import the co ordinates but spline had not generated.......can someone tell me why?
the spline created is not nicely curved. any idea how to fix this in catia?
does anyone know how to choose which plane the coordinates get imported on to?
i tried all the possibilities but i always have the error : " license information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in the design environment" i use CATIA V5R21 and EXCEL 2010
Can anyone help me please ?
i had the same error. you have to run catia in the background then this error disappears.
'Object doesn't support this property or method'
.
this is the error it's showing.... can any one help me out..!!
Nice job! This saved me a lot of busy work. Do you know how to get a Shapefile
(.shp) (.shx) (.dbf) (.prj) (.sbn) into Catia?
it helps. it works. Thanx

did you get the solution over it?
Thanx for sharing knowledge with us, but i am getting error like subscript out of range when i run the macros from excel..help me out plezzz:(
same error here..
could u fix it?
how to connect all the coordinates so the curve of the airfoil will be smoother?
Fahmi Zainal
Do you get the answer already?
Nope. Sorry
+Fahmi Zainal use the spline operation
Multiply all the coordinate by a n like 10 or etc to scale up the airfoil bigger. The curve wasn't smooth because it was scaled to 1mm. 1mms airfoil is too short.
Same can be done in one step in Solidworks
I'm getting the same problem as Laxman Kunwor, I get the message from Microsoft Visual Basic for Apps saying "Type Incompatibilité"
does anyone as the answer to this problem ?
thx a lot
I found the answer : points must be removed by comas into excel.
hello, did you changed the points one by one ?
select the plane also (xy or yz or xz).
Where can I get the aerofoil coordinate?
matlab or tyoe naca airfouil data in google
at airfoiltools.com
How to import the airfoil In a inclined plane?
You have to make sure you've got a new part open in Catia
i followed all d steps but hv a small prob.....wen i give run in Macros am gettin as "Object doesn't support this property or method".....wt should i do plzzzz som1 help me....
KATAIAH? what program is that?
Thank you very much!!!
how to copy these points in other offset plane?
+Rahul kumar change the first value (0) to the right offset koordinate
thank you for this tutorial
That was COOL
Thanks man, this helped
See euarm's reply to Darjify and Cosmin Cojocaru. You need to be in the Part design module first.
Thanks
i am getting the same problem like others of "Object doesn't support this property or method" please need help

THANK you soooo much :D
thanks
thanks so much!!
nice when something works :) thanks
you rock
i keep getting type mismatch
