What Is Direct Traffic?

Knowing how your visitors ended up on your website is core to understanding which marketing activities are actually working. While some traffic sources are strategy forward, one, in particular, confuses many. Direct traffic is the traffic source I get asked questions about the most. Thanks for sharing this. If you're planning to make technical or design changes to a site the more info you have on how your visitors are getting to a site the better. From experience I think the content side of Google Analytics (bounce rates, traffic) is often easier to pick up.
Interesting to learn about the statistic on where sharing most occurs. Be interested to know the source for this info?

Hey Karen, what’s app and other messenger tools can be tricky. While some visits will get labels, most of that type of traffic get bucketed into direct.
