- If your Wrangler JL came with a factory soft top and you are looking to install a hard top you will need a set of brackets to fully secure the hard top freedom panels to the jeep. I found this DV8 bracket kit that comes complete with everything you need to secure the freedom panels to your jeep. Hope this video helps you with your install.

Thank goodness for DV8. Mopar be rippin us off man!
Thank you for making this video! It was EXTREMELY helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Found this video just as I was going to pick up a hard top about 3 hours from my house. Good to know I need extra stuff. I may end up trailering it home instead of doing it in the parking lot somewhere.
Thank you .. I use the ones from Amazon $50 dollars everything and works just like the factory ones ..
Thanks for a great and very helpful video! I bought a new 23 Gladiator back in January with just the soft top. I subsequently bought a hardtop with the freedom panels from an owner who was moving to warmer climates. The price was way too good to pass up and everything fit just fine except I didn’t have any way to attach the freedom panels to the body other than the front latches. I’m ordering the kit from DV8 in the morning. Thanks for all your help!
This exactly the video I was looking for. Thanks a ton man!
Thank you for this video ‼️
Super helpful video, thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!
what size are the smaller bolts you used in the front to attach the latch to the bracket? Comes with 4 of them, they are the smaller ones, do you know what size they are?
Super helpful! Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Did you put in the hard top wiring harness conversion kit? Looks like a lot of work to get rear defrost, wiper and washer fluid to work.
I have not had a chance to put in the wiring harness conversation kit yet! Def does look like a lot of work, have not been able to find a video on anyone doing an install either. Hopefully in the spring I get some time to do it and make a vid of the install!
Was your jeep a dual top group? Meaning did you have the wiring for the rear defrost and rear wiper pre-installed? Or are you using the hard-top without those two features. I heard the transition from soft- top to hard top is relatively easy but if you do not have the pre-wiring for the defroster and wiper control, DIY wiring is a nightmare.
My jeep came with the soft top, did not have the dual top group. So no wiring for the wiper or defrost. You are correct, it sure is simple to swap from soft to hard. But I have not attempted to put the wiring harness in for the defrost and wiper, as you stated seems like a nightmare diy job lol
Did you ever find out if you could plug the back window in?
Hi Shane, I did not get around to adding the plug for the wiper/defroster. I did see that you can purchase the wiring kit, but I do not want to go through the hassle of that install.
Hello. Have you been able to use the rear wiper and window defrost ? Thx
Since I didn’t have the dual top option, I did not have that functionality. There is a wiring kit that you could install but I do not want to go through the hassle of putting that in for the defrost or wiper.
Great Video. How much did you pay for the hardtop?
Found it on marketplace for $1,500!!!
Where did you get the bracket kit
