    Congrats on the new car! The 2023 LE now has the same 2.0 Dynamic Force engine that used to only be available on the SE and XSE models. It's much more efficient and a lot more powerful than the old 1.8 that it replaced. Plus the LE also gets the same unique CVT with the first gear launch gear. It's definitely a win-win.

      The infotainment was a let down. Why remove physical buttons that used to be on 2020 to 2022 models. For those in cold climates, those physical buttons are more useful especially when that screen freezes. For those in cold climates know what I'm talking about

      @@braetonwilson4296 I understand what you saying but some people like physical buttons and that alone will be an issue for some people. The charging pad yes its a good addition and also they removed the tuning knob which used to be on the right side as the 2020 to 2022s came with a tuning knob on the right side. The only real upgrade for 2023s is the addition of USB ports for rear passengers.

    Crazy how your Toyota Corolla has a Lexus engine and a Lexus transmission!! Lexus UX 200 has had the same 2 liter engine and CVT with physical first gear for the past 5 years! What's even more impressive is that the Lexus UX 200 is about 400 pounds heavier than your Corolla LE! So your Corolla is faster than the Lexus! Congrats on buying a truly amazing car!

    I took delivery of the Corolla LE hybrid AWD about 5 weeks ago. Sill less than 500 miles on the odometer, and getting around 45 mpg, mostly city driving. I expect better mileage when the winter is over and I don't need the cabin heat. I have had some issues with the smart key door locks, and the Android Auto system. Sometimes I can't seem to unlock the rear door by holding the front door handle, and once even the unlock button for the door didn't operate the read door locks. Also, twice the Android Auto connection 'timed out' and I had to pull over and re-establish it, or just operate the phone GPS 'naked'. The car drives quite well, however. I[ve had occasion to use the adaptive cruise control, and also noticed that the blind spot warning works well. Car has enough acceleration to merge onto the interstate, and engine/transmission noise is NOT noticeable, as some have complained about.

    I'm amazed at how low the engine is revving. It's barely above idle at 40mph. The 50mpg probably is a few MPGs off from reality. My 2018 Elantra would average 50mpg according to the computer at 55mph, but in reality is was several MPG lower. Still super efficient though. I had a 2020 Corolla rental and I couldn't stand the lane keep assist. It constantly ping-ponged the car between the lines if I didn't maintain dead center in the lane. It drove me nuts on my long highway trips. It was otherwise a great travel car though. Comfortable, smooth, and quiet. Economy cars have come a LONG way in the last 30yrs. How do you feel about the CVT with the 1st gear? I live in the city, so I wonder if I'd hate this CVT with all of the stop and go and traffic I do daily if it's constantly hopping in and out of that first gear.

    • @rickm8456
      @rickm8456  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, the CVT keeps the rpm’s down. I got 36 MPG on my second tank. Mostly around town driving. Honestly, I’m old school so I’m not a huge fan of the CVT. It’s what you get in this type of car, so it is what it is. It’s fine. It’s pretty responsive and smooth. The launch gear is good. Maybe takes a little bit to get used to it. Hopefully the transmission proves to be reliable. My plan is to change the fluid at 60,000 miles and then every 60k.. the lane keep assist and the tracing assist are pretty cool. I think the technology has gotten a lot better, even just from a couple years ago.

    Don’t you need to do a break in? I heard long drives is not the best break in method, needs to be stop and go

      Stop and go adds more wear. Furthermore, short trips aren’t great because the engine doesn’t get up to operating temperature. You are thinking about varying the speeds of throttle. Which I did, and I’m still doing. This is why I drove back roads and not on cruise control for a couple hours. Additionally, not racing the engine to high RPM’s. I haven’t even had the engine over 3500 RPM’s yet.

      10 years? More like 15-20 years. These things are notorious for going past 200,00-300,000 miles.

    You can go to any dealer of any brand you buy for service. Toyota isn’t special.

      Sure. But warranty service is Toyota.

    I’m having the same exact problem with my 23’ SE AWD alignment

      Hmm. I read that others had this issue too. Mine was fixed however I’m noticing it’s starting to go in the other direction now - the steering wheel that is. So at my 10,000 mile oil change I’m going to have them look at it again.

    Good video but you don’t need to brake a modern engine in anymore 😊
