    Since you're asking about things you could add. Add a lattice to each eye, that way you can deform them and it will keep it's shape as you move the bone controls around. For realistic models this won't be useful, but for cartoon characters it's pretty much essential that the eyes are able to deform. In animation it can be used to make the eyes pop out or have one get big and the other small, or make them oval, and so on. And it's very useful to get rid of the "bug eye effect" that you often get on cartoon characters when their eyes are very large, by squashing the eyes to make them flatter. As far as I know a lattice is the only way this can be achieved while still maintaining full eye movement control.

    Loved the trick with making the voronoi act like striations, that's very clever. Thanks for sharing.
    Tip: Instead of deleting the image texture and adding the other texture, if you just add the texture first then press Ctrl+T on it it will do what you want and add the coordinates and mapping to it, no need to delete the image texture and hooking the other one up each time.

    Great tutorial, it's helped me soo much. I just wanted to comment and say that I'm not sure if this was recorded before Blender 2.79 came out, but with the Principled BDSF if you plug it into where the Diffuse is supposed to go, turn down the roughness and put the transmission to 1, plugging in the color ramp to the transmission makes the eye nicely reflective and more glasslike. This helped me so I hope it helps someone else. Again, great tutorial. Thanks.

    I was wondering if there are any x rotation to our eyes in real life. I know they look inwards just a little bit for focusing both on a point in space.
    But do eyes orient upwards or downwards at all naturally, or is it's natural look straight horizontal? I see the optic nerve is towards the bottom back of the eyeball. But I'm guessing the eye looks forward completely parallel to the ground, but just wanted to know for sure.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge. At 14:50 you add a mapping node in normal mode in order to scale the voronoi. The problem is that the result differs between rendered and material view. In material view, it looks as in your video, but in rendered view mode (and when baking it) the centered stretching of the voronoi is gone. Are there Linux-users of your addon who encountered the same issue?

    • @DannyMac3d
      @DannyMac3d  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it the tutorial you are having issue with or the add-on?

    • @grinsegold
      @grinsegold 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the tut. Or rather the fact of having different output of rendered compared to material view when using the mapping node in normal mode. My best guess is that it is a bug in the linux version of blender. So i assume there could be some other people having the same problem. But your reaction indicates this issue is new to you. • @normanmai52
      @normanmai52 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did this in Eevee 2.8 and it worked with the help of some people, you just need to change the blend mode to "Alpha Hashed". You also need to change some nodes for the Iris, instead of a diffuse for the transparency + diffuse, you can put a principled bsdf node instead, and making the emission black, this also means you don't need the first mix shader and the glossy since the principled bsdf node already has glossy in it which is called metallic. I stumped into a lot of problems while trying to do this in Eevee 2.8 but thankfully the gabbit 3d discord server has some great people who helped me.

  • @tsaiwolfcommissions2331
    @tsaiwolfcommissions2331 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I've been trying to figure it out for several days, I got your eye tool however I have lots of questions that don't seemed to be answered in this video. When you have created eyes using your tool, how then do you take those eyes and rig them? No matter what I try they weirdly deform when I bind them to a bone in my armature. Or the iris doesn't move with the rest of the eye or the controller.
    Also this is a somewhat separate problem, but when I'm in pose mode I can't select any geometry at all. In order to parent an object to a bone I have to go into pose mode, then find the object I want to bind in the outliner to select it, and only then can I parent.

    • @tsaiwolfcommissions2331
      @tsaiwolfcommissions2331 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, it doesn't seem likely that I'd be able to add another set of eyes into the same scene. Do you have any kinds of workaround for this? I appreciate that your tutorial here shows the whole process of making an eye myself, because I am so excited about using your tool, but it doesn't quite seem like it's at the point yet where I can easily incorporate it into a design pipeline.

    Cool tutorial! But I don't understand why units should be set to none here since it seems to work for me with or without it... I guess it's a problem for those 'merican guys who use this imperial system thing :v

      CG WARP I pretty much use/used it for sculpting and finding objects. You can easily put back them into the keying set atm for 2.8. Alt+F and Shift+C doesn't do anything in Object and Sculpt mode.

      Yea I know.... I said RIP Shift + c because a few times in the video Danny could've used that shortcut key to save some time..lol (I mean he is using Blender 2.79 in the video) ...... also didn't know that Shift + c is no longer in Blender 2.8..... at first I thought it was a glitch but now I know it's not even there..... When 2.8 comes out I sure have a lot of customization to do xD
