This is by far the best collection of baroque guitar pieces I have ever heard. Whoever compiled this collection is a genius. The selection is awesome and flows very well. I thought I could find it on CD but I could not, so I figured is home made. Great selection. Fantastic, I would say. Great taste.

Don't know...? Think RUSH, 2112 at 8/10ths volume would work nicely also. Of course with 2-3 cups of "black gold" in hand n peanut butter toast with it 🥰 ! Baroque is nice but overlapping in sounds/chords so after couple songs, monotonous becomes. (PS. That other comment I noticed, probably not directed for you)
Oh, too sigh and sigh again to such calming music, in the middle of the night, with my dog or cat, and perhaps a warm fireplace with a glass of spiced dark rum and coke, to sigh and......sigh again. :)
THe Ballad by Michael Praetorious is sweetly beautiful.c 1612. I love a trill on a guitar. He mostly did sacred music so its a treat to hear this. 42:20.

I am still listening but I would agree that this is a great selection of Baroque period music. Most is played on a modern guitar but some were played on guitars of the size that Fernando Sor played.
These are baroque and renaissance pieces but played on a modern guitar - like I've been doing for decades. I was looking for authentic baroque guitar music (like the one pictured). These are all good pieces but it's not a baroque guitar. I picked up the 7 course renaissance lute lately - THAT's authentic. Now I'm interested in early music like Paul Odette and Hop Smith play - the REAL stuff.

The first guitar is blowing my mind its so beautiful. Of course, its Johann Sebastian. I don't think he made a whole lot of money in his lifetime. His interest was making crowds happy to be gathered together at the church where he was the organ player...according to the documentary I watched. The chords and playing style remember me of Moonlight Sonata

This version of Weiss's "Fantasie" is one of the best ones that I have heard so far, though John Williams version on "The Baroque Album" is still my favorite, by far.

Most of these recordings are of modern classical guitars, not baroque guitar.
Baroque guitar does not have the same range. Baroque guitar is closer to ukulele in range, but a bit lower, maybe compaire it to a baritone ukulele
