Hi , good informative video 5 years later... Do you have a recommendation of an established governing board that issues iso9001 qualified certification

Hi Russell, thanks for your comment and your kind words. I'm going to assume that you are based in the UK. If so, you want to make sure that they are UKAS Accredited. This demonstrates that they have been assessed by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Scheme) and have found to be meeting the required standards for certification bodies. Examples include - NQA, BAB, LRQA, BSI. There are also lots of smaller bodies. I'd recommend getting a few different quotes for comparison purposes. I hope that helps and all the best with your certification. Luke @ The ISO Consultant.

How do I find individuals that have this credited course knowledge in my area? Is there a club or group?

Do you have any suggestions for where to go for an IRCA certified course in the south eastern part of the US? Also how easy is it to obtain work as a lead auditor? I am semi retired so I do not need this as a career however this field really interests me.

Hi Luke! great content, highly informative. In this time of pandemic are there training providers that offer online course for ISO certification? Also do they accept applicants coming from distant places and countries like Philippines?

Would you say in your experience, from an individual who has never worked in an office or in any managerial roles. Is it possible for someone to change career from a engineering background and become an lead auditor?

    • @TheISOConsultant
      @TheISOConsultant  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Matt
Thanks for your comment I hope you're keeping okay. In answer to your question yes absolutely ! There are plenty of roles out there for Lead Auditors both employed and self employed. You would have to go through the Lead Auditor Course in the relevant standards. However, after passing it your approvals will be based on experience in certain sectors (Of which engineering is a big one), training and skills. If you would like to discuss further I'd be more than happy to help. My email is luke.hickey25@gmail.com.

Hi Luke, could you recommend or sign post me any course providers which offer good training, tutors, materials etc. I am keen to do this course but I'm unsure if I complete the qualification via BSI direct or by enrolling with an external provider. Thanks

@@TheISOConsultant Hi Luke. I'm based near Leeds. It would be good to find a provider who is recommended to help me study and complete this qualification. I'm keen to get started but I'm not sure who to speak to. I spoke to the BSI direct, but I noticed that other providers appear to offer better value for money, for the same qualification. Thanks

@@tommcintosh1102 Hi Tom. Your best going with a provider that can offer a course which is IRCA certified. This is the recognised accreditation for auditor training (It stands for the Internal Register of Certificated Auditors). In terms of actual companies there are many e.g. NQA, Bywater, etc. However, whoever is IRCA certified is fine in my opinion. If you would like to drop me an email I can help with any other questions or queries you may have. I also don't mind dropping you a call to discuss the course (Or what I can remember of it !) Hey , what does the exam intale ? Great video. I'm doing with BM trada.

      Rikky Clark,
Thanks for your comment and kind words they are much appreciated.
You’ll have to forgive me because it was a while ago that I did the course. However, I seem to remember that there were several sections to the exam the last and biggest of which was giving you scenarios and you have to decide whether they are nonconformities or not you then have to write up the issue and confirm what you would do to verify it / resolve the issue. Im sorry but I cannot remember what the other sections entailed (it was about 5 years ago).
BM Trada is a great choice and I’m sure you’ll be fine just make sure that the tutor gives you plenty of exam practice before your exam as it will help you familiarise yourself with it.
Also in the last section I think that there are several questions worth 10 marks each. If you raise the scenario as an NCR incorrectly then you get 0/10. However, if you state that the scenario is not an ncr but a lesser OFI (opportunity for improvement) incorrectly then you can still get 6-7/10. Check with your tutor that what I’m saying is correct but my method was to raise all the scenarios as an OFI and then put sufficient information in to score 6-7/10 for each question getting a pass overall.
      When is your course ?
      Best of luck
      Luke

@@TheISOConsultant Thanks Luke, this is really good advise. My course is first week in March. Looking forward to it. Will let you know how I get on. Maybe not on the open platform 😂. I've worked with the standard for many years and know it very well. It's more the exam environment I struggle with. Nonetheless got to keep positive and will give it 💯.
      Thanks again Luke

      Hi Zoe,
On the day the exam was quiet intense, however our tutor done great to prepare us for it.
My experience is that the tutor marks the paper and if you show your knowledge throughout the course and even if you don't know the full answer on the day but parts of it then definitely write it down.
It's 2 hours so no time to get stuck up on any particular question. I started from from to back , then ran over it again.
      Hope this helps.
      Ta
      Rikky

Hi Anurag. Thanks for watching the video ! The answer to your question is whichever is IRCA certified. This will ensure that the course is recognised by the international register of certificated auditors. Aside from this go with whichever fits you best e.g. location, cost and organisation. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

In reality this course is really for people who want to become a 3rd Party Auditor? So basically if you only intend to be auditing suppliers and carry out internal audits this course is a bit of a waste?
