- In the video I am in the capital city of Suriname called Paramaribo. I drive to a place called Fort Nieuw Amsterdam. I didn't realize the fortress was a little boring. I had some traffic, so I needed to speed up the video in some parts of the video.

hey richard good morning of my part here to you , which part of the state are you from are u from the east coast . you mention going to the do sight seing in nieuw amsterdam ( new amsterdam in english ) you did a good job filming , waterkant ( the water front ) . and yes the people in suriname speak many languages over all the commom way they communicate with each other . , other then dutch is taki taki ( a suriname slang ) mix of creaol , english , dutch , portugeese . is a make up language. lol
I dont think it is weird but beautiful to see how people from different origines get along. A lot of people could learn from that I think. We all are Surinamese people. I love my country and the people. Nice video
Thank You. I really like Suriname. This was my second time there. But, if you are from Suriname I think you know the different types of people will talk about the others. But, everyone does seem to get a long well. I took a taxi a few times and had some people give me quick tours. And I always ask them about how the people get along. And everyone has their stories. But, I think this is very normal. For South America Suriname definitely has the most interesting mix of people.

About 1/3 of the population is of Indian heritage, so a lot of radio stations play Bollywood music and have programs in Sarnami (Surinamese Bhojpuri).
