Beautiful place and video. I will be going there in mid Oct. Hope the weather is as nice as yours. Have subscribed to your channel. Pls continue the great video
I think there is little to less snow in october and does not pile up. usually it snows hard from november. yes we hiked up to oyama shrine during spring (may). but May has lots of snow. you can watch another video with us hiking up to oyama on spring. please subscribe!
Thank you very much. Your video is very helpful! I cannot travel in October but I am thinking of the second week of November. Will it be too late for foliage? Also, can I just wear running shoes with thick wool socks (instead of hiking boots) and without trekking poles, if I don't walk on smaller paths? Thank you!!
Might be too late or past peak of autumn if mid november. usually the best times are from sept to end of october. november may have light snow already. if you are walking only between lodges, then no need for hiking boots.
hi, can i go with kids 8 & 10 years old there? can we go there without staying at hotel? just go in the morning and back to tokyo / kyoto in the evening?
yes you can bring kids there. it can be a day trip as well only and no need to stay at a hotel. you can definitely go back and forth from tokyo (shinjuku) as well. if it is a day trip, probably you can go around the murodo bus terminal and get off from that. I have another video for a day trip. I’ll post it here once I see it.

November in Tateyama is almost early winter. expected to have light to moderate snow already. also I think it is only open until mid of November I think.
Hello, i will go on 12-16th april 2023, is it a good time? I want to go to alpine route also, and i want to book hotel nearest, which one you recommended? Price value and distance from alpine route, thx u very much
mid april is still heavy snow in tateyama. which still feels like winter although technically it is spring. I would recommend Raichoso (you can see in the video). price is around 10000 yen with dinner already. distance from murodo bus terminal would take you around 1 to 2 hours one way walk since you are walking ok snow. please subscribe!
Hi. thanks for the video. I am planning to visit in October. Regarding Tateyama Alpine route, is it operational every day once it is open in April till November or is it open only on limited days ??. TIA.
You need to make reservations for the private room. But for bunk bed style, no reservations needed. However, I would recommend to make reservations ahead as sometimes it gets full especially during peak season. Please subscribe!
Hi! Thank you so much for this informative video! How long was the hike from Murodo Terminal / Hotel Tateyama to Raichoso? Did you all stay in Ogizawa overnight and started the journey from there in the morning, if so, what time did you all start?
Ah... just saw the comment you replied to another viewer that it takes 2 hours walk from Murodo... Thank you! May I know how did you manage the luggage?
what kind of luggage? I would recommend backpack as the terrain is not flat going to raichoso. luggage used for airplane checkin might be doable but you may need carry it.
