I loved hearing about the earlier years in your career. Ballet dancers are so interesting. They are very brave to follow the paths others would never consider taking. They have pain, personal sacrifice and at times, great fulfillment. I’m so happy for you that you met your soulmate along the way! Love your videos, thank you for sharing!💓
I’m 17 and want to be a professional but I just got back into ballet. I did it as a kid (2-8) years old but we didn’t have the money for me to go. I got a job this past summer and rejoined ballet. I feel like I’m too old to actually get into any ballet school or company since I haven’t even gotten my pointe shoes yet :(
Hey, I am so sorry you had to drop out when you were just a little kid. I can 100% understand the financial difficulty--ballet is really expensive! I was a lucky one. I'm glad you're back to ballet though and seemingly it's something you love! Personally, I don't like to take the easy road and say "you can achieve anything you put your mind to!" because I don't believe that's true. Things can be unfair and ballet takes so much luck and timing as well as determination and talent. Things are often out of our control. With that in mind, I would go into ballet with the intention of pursuing your passion and learn as much as you can in your free time. If it continues to resonate with you throughout your training, that's great! It's definitely not impossible for you to catch up and there are many different levels of ballet company out there, perhaps a regional one. I really suggest keeping your options open and not narrow in on too specific a goal just yet. Keep the love alive instead of letting benchmarks consume you. Loving ballet can be a lifelong passion and I wish you all the best! Let me know if there's more you'd like to know. :-)
Hey! i’m 16, i’ve been dancing ballet from 3 to 11 yo then I stopped to become a gymnast (I was just getting on pointe at when I stopped) for 3 years i’ve been doing gymnastics and I lost skills, now I do 5 hours of ballet a week and 2 hours of pointes, I work at home a lot, do you think at my age it is too late to hope for a professional ballet dancer career? Nice video by the way!!!

Aw thanks! I appreciate you sitting through such an old video too, filmed on a phone 😅🙏 and yes, we all have to be go-getters don't we?!

Hey, sorry for the late reply but I hope that whatever you've chosen to do makes you happy. 😊
