  • King's infamous Burning Knuckle setup from a counter hit df2 1, also sometimes known as the Majin Special/Setup, has been drastically affected in Tekken 8.
    What was once a very reliable guaranteed unblockable setup (on 90% of the cast anyway), is now incredibly inconsistent. In this video I do a little bit of testing and figure out if you should still be using it or not.

    It's mainly because of a hitbox nerf on the move. This used to hit grounded, btw - but now it doesn't.

      Yep I'm aware. In T7 it was kinda harder to pull off on the female cast + Noctis and Leroy because of their smaller hitboxes as well. Had to make micro adjustments for it to make it work. But in this game it's basically a gamble as to it hitting or not. Kinda sad, but oh well.

    I am mystified by this wealth of knowledge.

    Would a side step to the right help. Getting up face up head towards is one of the slowest. Since it does hit grounded anymore the best it can do is beat anywake up that doesn't leave you grounded.

      Micro sidestep right could potentially have some effects but unfortunately I didn't get to test it properly in time. I did try it a couple of times but the problem is the timing becomes even stricter, and less reliable, which yields around the same quality of results as normal sadly.
      That being said, things are still subject to change. When the game releases fully we'll know for sure.

      @@AzaratheFlea forreal bring back grounded hit. Kings needs all the sauce. Did you try it at the wall?

      @@rpgtimefire I pulled off some wall tech catches with it, but again I didn't have time to fully test them properly. There might again be ways to escape it after a wallsplat combo

    how do you get the follow up df 4,3 on women characters?

    • @AzaratheFlea
      @AzaratheFlea  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This setup is much trickier to do on female characters (plus Leroy, who has a smaller hitbox), and it requires a very strict micro-dash after the CH df2 1.

      @@AzaratheFlea i see, so do a forward forward very fast?.. im dashing and still missing.. its tough.

      @@Incinerate1212 Yeah. It's certainly very tough. It's pretty much a just-frame microdash. That's why online when I am against a female character, a more reliable mini-combo I do after CH df2 1 is People's Elbow (d2+3), into Ali kick (d3+4)

      @@AzaratheFlea damn, thanks for the advice..i tried that i remember but even that peoples elbow isn't guaranteed if they immediately get up. i think the only legit 100% follow up is double alley kick into 2 which is really bad damage.

      @@Incinerate1212it worked for me without a microdash if i was already pushing right up to them when i landed the df21, though this was from the CNT and not the CBT so idk if they changed it
