Recently got my turbo replaced (OEM) and have a cold air intake filter on my vt, when I rev I don’t seem to get it to spool/flutter, is this because I still have the stock oem air intake pipe or because my turbo might need to be broken in, was also wondering if you had an after market turbo, thanks
Yes I would say that it’s because of the pipe, the aftermarket intake allows much more air to be sucked in. That’s why it sounds like a jet when you first turn it on with aftermarket intake lol. I’m on the stock turbo!

Glad I could help. If you’re talking about the “stututu” then your intake shouldn’t have a recirculating pipe, a BOV would also help I heard that HKS has a BOV that can help with the flutter.
Sorry not sure if you mentioned it in the video but do you have a blow off valve installed as well? Is all that intake sound purely from the cold air intake?
I am on the stock BOV. This is just the intake!

Dont do it, unless you get a good tune, also you need to upgrade the throttle body with one from the genesis 2.0. Plug/cap the 2 collant lines that go to the throttle body the new one wont need them.
After that, do a throttle relearn.
Then make sure your tune is correct.. your ecu will not compensate for the extra air and you will ruin that engine.
Im on my third engine, forth transmission.
So word to the wise. Do not beat on this car at all. They have very weak engine bearings and they will wear massively even with 3000 mile oil changes and regular top off.
I would also install a catch can. But make sure you route it right and buy the vented oil cap.
This only applies to the older G4FJ Gamma engines I think that’s 2013 and before, I ran the intake with no tune, no throttle body upgrade, no plugged coolant lines. My ECU definitely compensated for the extra air no problem. If you beat on ANY car it’s gonna mess up faster, but if you’re casually driving most of the time and only go hard every now and again. For me I wouldn’t bother for new engines with the car I don’t think it would be worth it. As of right now I have a tune, oil catch can, and more upgrades too. If you’d like you may check them out as I have videos of the work done. Lmk if I’m wrong on anything but this is my experience

Nice, this is my 2016 Rally edition so based on that years R-spec with some upgrades from factory, like I said I’ve never had any issues
