Thank you for sharing your update...So glad you two are doing better. Healing thoughts sent to you both...Salvage what you can, recycle what you can't....the scarlet runners look fabulous...and the tractor make work fun....take care your doing your best it all works out.
Thanks. It's great to see her feeling better every day now. Better hospital and doctors second time. Will make lots of compost. Love the tractor, helping with the clean-up chores. Thanks for watching.
I grew black beans and cranberry beans this year with much success. I will give these a try next year. I am glad your wife is home and it looks like you got a great dog !
I am so glad that your wife is home and you are both doing better. Even with all the problems you still got alot of things from your garden. These beans are gorgeous. I did a stringless pole bean this year did really great but I think I will try those next year. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, sure is nice to have her home. We did have a good year with the garden but just didn't get much put up for winter. Let me know how yours do if you try them. Thanks for watching.
Good Day 🌅, URHC , Great to hear that your wife is feeling much better and back home, Your beans 🫘 look 👀 delicious or will be when you cook them, I think your tractor 🚜 is one of your best buys, did you get the pipes sorted out, Keep up the great work, stay safe, From France
Thanks. It's great having her home again. They are our favorite dried bean. The tractor is amazing and the hoses are good now. Hope all is well with you. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful looking beans! Zero problems you say, I'll have to try them next year! So glad you guys are doing better. I see you're still playing w the tractor, lol, enjoy. Kiwi is adorable!❤ Tc.
So far they have been very easy to grow. We used to grow limas but the flavor of these is amazing. Dale is finally home and doing much better. Still very weak and 40 pounds lighter so it's going to take some time to build strength back up. We have never had a better dog. She is amazing. Thanks for watching.
We really like the flavor of these and they have been very easy to grow. We finally found the right doctors and she is recovering now. Thanks for watching.
Greek Gigante beans, basically the same as corona beans, are big white runner beans (not just big Lima beans, they are the same species as Scarlet Runners, Phaseolus Coccineus). They are delicious and huge. The beauty of runner beans is that they can become perennials if you leave the roots in the ground and mulch them really well. They like cooler weather than other beans, so when you have them from the previous year, they start growing a bit earlier.
That's interesting about them becoming perennials. Ours completely die after the first hard freeze and I pull the plants. Maybe I should try leaving some roots. Thanks for watching.
I have been growing them for years, not sure what’s up been getting lots of flowers but no beans. Looks like you will be feasting all winter. Glad to hear you have been doing better. Love your tractor and videos
I used 100% fresh compost this year. Many of our flowers were torn off by bad storms early summer. Mine are in full sun. That stinks that you are only getting flowers. It's nice to have Dale home again and she's feeling better this time. I love that tractor also. Helping me get things under control. Thanks for watching.
I love runner beans. I'm not a fan of the color scarlet so I grow the Sunset runners-the flowers are a peachy color. They are prolific and delicious. We eat a lot of beans and they're in my top five, along with True Red Cranberry, Good Mother Stallard, Cherokee Trail of Tears and Christmas Lima (I grow a lot of beans...). I'd recommend any of them, really, if someone wanted to grow a dried pole bean. So glad to hear your wife is on the mend. She's been in my prayers, as have you and your sweet pup.
We have tried some others but like the beef like flavor of these best. They loose the scarlet color when cooked. We used to grow the Jackson wonder limas that were pretty good. Thanks, she finally is home and healing. Going to take some time to build up strength and work through this. We were so lucky to find Kiwi. Thanks for watching.
Eat them when the pods are young and bendy and before the seeds start to develop. If you pick the pods you will get a bigger crop as the plants will produce more flowers and more pods
Nice to hear your Wife is better and back home! The garden came around, but it is hard to justify looking after it ?When a Loved one is in Need!! Next year will be here so soon and you can restart the garden!! All the best from Toronto!!
Between covid and her hospitalization we lost half the summer. Next year will be better. At least we wil have plenty of beans to enjoy. Thanks for watching.

Just put down my runner beans along the fence last week here in Auckland, New Zealand ...
Good luck with yours. TH-cam makes the world seem small. Thanks for watching.

@@mishalea They are toxic and require special handling thorough boiling times. I use them for ornamental plantings only, the red blooms are pretty.
@@tannenbaumgirl3100 thanks.
@@mishalea you're welcome!
Interested to try these, love beans! Thanks for sharing and glad your wife is starting to do better.

@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I think it might not work if you get a really deep freeze, but maybe if they are mulched like garlic over winter?
I have been growing them for years, not sure what’s up been getting lots of flowers but no beans. Looks like you will be feasting all winter. Glad to hear you have been doing better. Love your tractor and videos

Gems!
They sure are. Thanks for watching.
Great video!
They make for a beautiful trellis and delicious eating. Thanks for watching.
In England we don’t eat the beans we eat the young pods. There are wonderful steamed and sliced up before cooking with salt and pepper and some butter
We have never tried the pods. We love the flavor of the dried bean seeds. Will have to try the pods next year. Thanks for watching.

Scarlett Runner Beans are more toxic than most other beans...must be cooked very well done, never eaten raw.
Yes. We soak them overnight then cook well in clean water. Thanks for watching.

The twilight zone lately. Actually 6b. Thanks for watching.
