i don't personally hate on gandhi,but i don't respect him too,the fact that during that time,everyone who was fighting for country,and gandhi was one of them,alone proves he was quite cappable,though all of his degenerates acts have nothing to do with the independence,so i don't think its much of an independence topic,its more of gandhis personality,as long as his intent towards country was pure,there no much to hate about his movements,you can hate him on personal level,but that too doesn't justify people literally supporting nathuram godse,though there is still much more to know about how times were back then,what was the air,what kind of situation was when pakistan got seperated,its only likely that something bad would happen,since who would want partition of country based on opinion of not the whole nation but a few extremists,
also,gandhi was more linient to solving the matter mutually,rather than with extrmem mindset,what is mean is he was not like bhagat singh,who wanted to free india from britishers completely and with rigorous plans,whereas gandhi was more on ahimsa side,which i personally think was a dumb move,though he was able to collect a lot of people is quite a good feat,but india would've recieved independence before 1947,if gandhis acts were not linient towards britishers,or if sc bose was alive,because during 1945,britishers were already on the brink of leaving india because of bose's actions

Do you know British in the first 2 mass level movement ( satyagrahas ) promoted violence and forced violence from Indian and it was hard because of Gandhi but finally in both the movements at last the violence happened and just as the British were going to start the violence gandhi ji dismissed the movement and hence British were not able to ( pressure from American states and other British territories and also from Labour Party of Britain )
