  • UPDATE 2020: Since this video was taken I have had the joy of working all over the world. Some things spoken here I would do differently now. Lots of feedback (all feedback is good right?) on Kaolin clay. The last two bags I bought have lasted me 4 years. It makes a difference and no it does not effect photo synthesis. I am now using polyester bags to protect the apples, pears, and grapes.. These are reusable and working well. The new digital ecological design process has now been taught to over 60 people and many are working with me on international projects. UNITED DESIGNERS is our cooperative of international designers. UNITEDDESIGNERS.ORG. The Olla pots are in the green house now and passively watering 35 gallon tree pots of tomatoes. So back 2014 - During a week long visit to Minnesota, Geoff and I traveled to see numerous permaculture sites in the region. This is the video of my design process and farm in Prior Lake, Mn in 2014. Since then I have worked in many countries and climates developing designs using the the fully developed SouthWoods Design Process. It doesn't matter where I go, the process of site assessment, data collection, and understanding the climate and culture serves to develop design solutions that are holistic and ecologically sound. With the changes in climate patterns, it is important that the design be climate resilient, sufficient for supporting needed harvests, and optimized for available resources. See my recent work at southwoodscenter.com and contact me to help design your abundant future.
