Hey Charlotte, hopefully you got good marks for the midterm. I felt your pain lol im a grad student at Adrian College so I know. Last 5 to 7 weeks left and I have a stat final, a 10 page paper due, 16 page paper due by finals week. And an outline, 3-5 page paper due next week and a presentation next week. God help us all lol 😆!!

📚 I know you know what you are doing regarding your study schedule, but take care of yourself. You are working really late into the evening, and I was thinking that you might have to take your pyjamas, your pillow, a blanket, and maybe a plushie to the library with you. Your dedication to your studies is a shining example to your subscribers who are going through the college stage in their lives.

This gives me flashbacks to my Dead Weeks in college (I was a Creative Writing major with a mandatory Literature minor, so most of my classes were writing heavy as well) my Finals Weeks were pretty chill once I was mostly taking classes for my major/minor, but everything was due the week before and it was a struggle. I was the same exact way with procrastinating papers and never learned my lesson because just like you said, the worse the procrastination was, the better the paper turned out 😅 Like I had this one class with a professor that was a notoriously tough grader, my roommate had taken him the year before and hated him. She kept asking me how that class was going and I told her I was honestly enjoying it. She wanted me that that’d end when we did our first essay, and I was like “yeah, I should probably start working on that, it’s due tomorrow” (this was at like 9PM the night before it was due.) She told me I was screwed. When we got it back the next week, I’d gotten a 97 and he’d written that it was one of the best essays he’d ever read and another one of my professors had mentioned that he’d told him what a great essay it was 🤯 I showed it to my roommate when she got home and she was appalled that it was the one I’d written in like 3 hours the night before it was due. Don’t know what it was, but I could somehow always BS my way through an essay. Hope you had a good Spring Break!
hahahaha no I know the cycle of procrastination-getting a good grade is SO bad but I can't escape it 😅

Omg thats what i did today and how i am usually too. I do my work ahead afraid of being last min and not good but i will work for how many hours i take to finsh to a place im happy with then take a hour or so break

Loved this vlog. I share a lot of the same struggles when it comes to procrastination and the Pomodoro technique. A question I have is how do you get yourself to start when you feel unmotivated and distracted (if you experience this). That’s always the toughest part for me. Do you schedule when you’re going to start doing work or do have bursts of motivation that leads you to do work?
I usually get bursts of motivation that come when I feel panicked about not having enough time to finish the assignment before it's due 😅 in all honesty though, something that works for me is setting a 15 minute timer and making myself work on something small, like the outline or intro paragraph of a paper, and then by the time the timer is up I'm usually on a roll and able to just keep working. Plus finding 'study with me' videos and focus music playlists online really help me too!

I was genuinely giggling over so many of the comments you made in this video! I’m a first year graduate student and I just finished my last midterm before spring break this morning, so I have been saying the exact same things about not having the bandwidth and my procrastination tendencies all week 😂
