Watching the trailer for muppets now really made me realize how different kermits voice is with the change of the actor. Kermit just doesn't feel like kermit anymore.
I totally agree, I get he has a new guy voicing him but I don’t understand why they haven’t ensured his voice remained the same? It’s SUCH a key point in his character design.
Incredible how I never questioned the Kermit on the fire truck 😂 I didnt ask how he was being puppeted, I was just like "Yeah he's Kermit he can do that."
Honestly, Muppet Treasure Island is probably my favorite Muppet movie. I watched it a ton. Still like it. I know people also speak highly of the Christmas Carol. But the other older films that Jim Henson was actually a part of were also fantastic.
I'd kill for someone to do this for all the other muppets. Rowlf? Dr. Teeth? Clifford? Scooter? I'd love an evolution for all of them, the only thing is it'd take SO MUCH TIME.
I would love to see a Rowlf one! Rowlf was Jim's first character to have a weekly presence on national television, thanks to the Jimmy Dean show, and the one he most closely identified with, arguably even more so than Kermit himself.
From THE MUPPET MOVIE, people always talk about Kermit riding a bike as the most impressive scene, but no one ever talks about what happened before that. Kermit's swamp scene singing RAINBOW CONNECTION and Jim Henson literally performing Kermit while submerged underwater in a cramped container for 5 days for that one scene.
Really great, informative video. I gotta say, I love Muppets Take Manhattan Kermit most; the build was so clean and he even seemed to have a glow about him.

My favorite Kermit moment is always when he sings Rainbow Connection. The clip you showed from Muppets 3-D would be pretty close too because I adored that show at MGM Studios back in the day.
The funny thing is, before Steve performed Kermit, he was one of the frog advertising executives in Muppets Take Manhattan, and his character sounded sort of like his Kermit. Then it repeated itself with Matt performing Constantine, that film's Kermit doppelganger before performing the frog himself. Weird how that worked out.
I love any instance when they show Kermit in shoes. Those cowboy boots in The Muppet Movie killed me. 😂😂 For some reason, I find Muppet feet to be hysterical. Especially in shoes. I guess because we see them so rarely.

I don't know how else to say it, but you match your voice so freaking well and you are such a joy. You're like all the happiness of Disney in one and I love it.
I think Disney should bring the Muppets characters back into the limelight with some live Disney shows with the Muppets characters like a Disney Muppets On Ice show, Disney Live! The Muppet Show, etc.!
They tried with that very short-lived Muppet show on ABC, but it had to be cancelled after a few episode because it wasn't pulling numbers. I absolutely love the Muppets, but unfortunately it seems as though the same people campaigning for more Muppets, aren't actually tuning in to watch the newer shows. It always boils down to the fans complaining that the new stuff is "not as good as/will never be as good as The Muppet Show", and then the regular non-fans who aren't invested in the characters to begin with just not being interested in watching a show with puppets in it. But then people complain that they want more Dark Crystal, another Labyrinth movie, more Muppets, more Fraggles, yet ha/ve no interest in anything related to the Muppets or Jim Henson Company, so nothing happens with any of the properties. That's why the Muppets have been slowly being fazed out from the parks. The average Disney Park guest isn't interested in watching an outdated 3D Muppet movie from 1990/1991, or street show of the Muppets retelling American history, and Disney is listening to that feedback (be it unintentional or not) and quietly removing Muppet stuff to put in more MCU, Star Wars, and Disney Princess stuff because they know *that* is going to pull in more attention than Kermit and Co.
What can I say? In terms of the Muppets, Kermit has really been the frog prince of my life. He is full of humor and heart and he uses his happiness to lead the Muppets to have a rainbow connection with all of us fans. I LOVE that frog. Thanks for the video, Dan.

"Look how they mastered my boy"
My friend Darcy LOVES Kermit so this video reminded me about her :)
Dan your videos make me laugh out loud more than anything else on TH-cam! Thank you for your great vids!
I was excited to see the MGM show included in this! I've worked at four theater attractions in Studios and one of my coworkers who's been with Disney FORVER used to be in entertainment and was friends with Kermit during the shows run! This was also just a joy to watch because of how much fun you were having.
Favorite Muppet Movie is A Muppet Christmas Carol. I love everyone's portrayal in that movie. And the classic shot of Kermit standing in the cold winter streets looking at the shooting star pass through the sky
I love how he makes himself laugh!😂😂😂
The muppets are my favorite! This is a hype up video for Muppets Now lol
I just sent this video to my friend who is OBSESSED with Kermit and she loved it!
I absolutely loved the Defunctland series that's so amazing that you worked on it! I just got a rainbow connection tattoo because I love Kermit and Jim's work so much!! I can totally relate to the fanboying XD
Really enjoyed watching this! I'm not old[only a teen hehe] but I always watched the old Muppet Show on VHS tapes my parents got for me. They also aired some episodes on television too. I always wanted to be a puppeteer, or someone who would design puppets. It's so interesting seeing the evolution of a beloved puppet that many people grew up watching[like me]. I watched The Muppet show, some sesame street, and the Movies. Even the 1976[I think] movie!!
