Evidently CO detectors can detect H2S and SO2. It probably wasn't all that dangerous if it was just one battery. But, that must have been interesting. Keep batteries in ventilated areas when possible. Also, NEVER work on your heating system if you don't know what you are doing.
O-2 is what you want. That is oxyge. But C-o2 and co is worse
