As an expatriate Scot . I am divided . .Australia has been good to me . .and I value my life here and all the friends I've made . . .but . .at heart . .I'm still a Scot . .
Thanks for your comment re Karine. I agree wholeheartedly. I was in tears when I listened to her "King of Birds". She seems to be a very natural, unaffected young woman with enormous talent. All the very best to her.
What a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song,a lovely mix of voices and the flute (Titanic style) is to die for. Yes Foreverspring Karine sung with a passion and enthusiasm ,you could feel the joy in her voice. I am not Scottish and I had not heard the song before but I just can't stop playing it now.
Incredible she certainly is, Amazing, wonderful & full of humility, light & compassion. She was a social worker before she became able to make a living as a musician & so is able to draw on a broad range of issues for her song writing. Go see her perform, she really is Incredible. Take some tissues with you though, she moves some people to tears with some of her songs, that's not to say that she's a misery though, far from it.
Who is the female singer standing next to Dougie? She has such a charming personality and a beautiful voice! This is one song of all the songs ever that I always sob and gulp my way through. I love it. I love Dougie's voice, his guitar playing, his personality!!! What a winner!!!! Wonder will this masterpiece ever become the national anthem of Scotland?
Stunning performance of Dougie MacLean's song. Other musicians I believe include: Barbara Dickson, Karine Polwart, Eddi Reader, Julie Fowlis, Dick Gaughan, Ross Ainslie, John McCusker, Aly Bain, Phil Cunningham, Kris Drever, Ralph McTell and Rab Noakes. Not sure of the others but should be - sorry!
I really hope this becomes the National anthem rather than Flower of Scotland, which is too nationalistic for me. A love song to Scotland is right after the heart of Robert Burns. Well done Dougie - I could sing it forever.

Tom Hunter I feel the same way. Canada & US have been home for decades - but I go Home to Scotland and come back to the US!

“I don’t know if you can see the changes coming over me …”
I see Ralph McTeal in the back row.
Where can I get this version on CD
Wow! That is just great. I'm familiar with Dougie and Eddi, but would like to know who all the other singers and performers are.
Is that Mary Chapin Carpenter standing to Dougie's right?
makes me proud to be a scot,,,,,brilliant
It's Karine Polwart !

Why the hell is this not the Scottish National Anthem ????
It could well be a good contender...
I'm not Scottish, but she makes me proud to be a socialist.
Brilliant song but prefer Frankie Miller singing it.
