K-1 World Grand Prix 2004 Final was a kickboxing event promoted by the K-1 organization. It was the twelfth K-1 World Grand Prix final, involving twelve of the world's best K-1 fighters (four being reservists) from eight countries, with all bouts fought under K-1 Rules (100 kg/156-220 lbs). The tournament qualifiers had almost all qualified via the K-1 World Grand Prix 2004 Final Elimination with the exception of Remy Bonjasky who was the reigning champion.

Just another Botha night! Winning on all cards then lose. Either he gets dropped or robbed.

Mighty Mo, Ray Sefo, Musashi and Remy in the rematch beat with little trouble.

@@kevthegoat8774 He beat Remy twice, IMO - and Remy fought scared throughout. And don't forget about Botha giving Le Banner a concussion and making Aerts quit. And Botha was literally obese at the time. LMAO!

Just rewatched this and still feel Botha was robbed. Bonjasky fought very scared, too. Botha beat his ass until the last ten seconds - a flash KD shouldn't have cost him the fight.

Bro wtf Botha fucked him up all round. Last one is a 9-9 round at worst a 10-8 but thats a draw. Couldn’t have the journeyman 37 year old boxer beat your top 10 kickboxer now could we

Thats due to his lack of punching style, look at how Ray Sefo and Mighty Mo handled Botha with ease. I believe it should have gone an extra round.

@@unknownunknown3692 Le Banner fight was 1-1 heading into the third round then he quit due to injury. Ray Sefo took a decision and beat Botha with ease mixing up his kicks and punches.
The problem you can't see is it's pretty clear that Botha is tougher than the average boxer with how he was able to handle the leg kicks, most boxers can't handle them like that and other boxers went into K1 and didn't do so good such as Arthur Williams, Vince Philips and James Warring (Who actually had a Full Contact Kickboxing background)
Tyson could do good with his power and speed but his bobbing and weaving won't work against knees so he'd just have to come forward which I'm sure he could do. All the rest you mentioned are likely getting their legs absolutely destroyed.

I think someone like Foreman if he managed to check kicks would be A fucking monster in kickboxing his power is like a roundhouse kick combination HAHAHAH@@kevthegoat8774

@@kevthegoat8774 Le Banner quit because he was getting tooled; unlike Remy he had the balls to throw some punches, which resulted in him getting rocked, over and over. Remy simply cowered on the ropes behind his big gloves and barely threw a punch across his two fights with Botha. Hardly seems fair to give a kickboxer big gloves with which to nullify the boxer's attack whilst leaving the legs of both boxer and kickboxer unpadded. (Think about it.) The Sefo fight was pretty even as I recall, and Botha was even fatter and more washed up then. It looked like a spar to me. Any decent boxer would have dealt with Sefo the way Chester Hughes did. Aerts was so scared of engaging with punches that he spammed kicks, got injured as a result, and had to quit. Hilarious, really - many consider Aerts the kickboxing GOAT.
Botha was tough, but not tougher than average, and a proven steroid cheat. He was blown out by every elite pro he faced, when in his prime. Well past prime, overweight and untrained, he was at least holding his own with the world's elite kickboxers. Tyson would have done just fine, even with the big gloves kickboxers need for protection - all they can do is shell up, they have no upper-body movement; their stance is all wrong for punching attacks and defense. Imagine them fighting in MMA gloves: it would be brutal! It's why elite kickboxers get splattered in MMA as a matter of routine - they have no boxing defense. Lennox took prime Botha out without breaking a sweat but he couldn't hang with these bum kickboxers? Please - it's funny.
These freakshow bouts are embarrassing for kickboxing. Arthur Williams was a 190lb cruiserweight looking to collect a check, and they put him in with a 250-260lb super-heavyweight about fifteen years his junior. Shameful stuff. Worse still when you consider that Williams was coming off a KO defeat not even a month earlier in a cruiserweight bout with David Haye, in a fight in which he'd showed no ambition whatsoever. Williams - another club fighter in his prime - was totally washed by that point; no credible authority would even have commissioned him to fight. He came to lie down, and disgraced himself. Vince Phillips similarly was a shot fighter from weight classes below his opponent, battling substance abuse issues and having essentially been exiled from boxing due to PED suspensions. This is the best you can do? (I confess I don't know who James Warring is.) Understand that there's a reason these guys wound up in another sport: they had nowhere else to go.

When you're fighting a man like botha, that can be true. But most pure boxers would crumble under heavy legs kick that botha walked through. Very tough man.

Botha lost that fight because of that knockdown in the 3rd round...otherwise he won the first two rounds. But you don't get a win in a 3 round fight if you get an eight-count
