All of them are based on the first fossils discovered, i mean when first discovered the real fossils the scientist found pieces of different animals and well fuse them and they got that kind of fusions. Just read the entries dex of the both games and are contradictions in both of the species
@@ENMAYUSCULAS I think my brother Robert sort of explained that to me and it went like this: in the earlier years of paleontology when fossils were found in Britain, some paleontologists chose to make their own discoveries by putting together the bones of other modern animals with dinosaur bones. The dex entries meanwhile are either lying like with Dracozolt (the electricity may have something to do with the front half, not the back) or are entirely made up like the Pokemon themselves like how these "non-existent" creatures became extinct.
It seems like the “True” fossils should be half-Rock like other fossils, but have higher base stats than the hybrids, and are able to breed, while the hybrid fossils have unusual typings and movesets.

Part of me is kind of thinking about something: did we end up with the Galar Fossil Quartet as a result of constantly begging for new Fossil Pokemon in the new generation? Considering what they based on, I think I doubt that.

I really hate the fossils the lore is interesting but the execution failed hard for me. And the fact that they’re constantly suffering, main reason why I don’t ever use them.
If only we went a route that didn't involve the Piltman Hoax and Britain's pseudopaleontology and when with more Jurassic Park-level stuff. Having the watched the video has given me some ideas... How about a Fossil Pokemon variant of the Eeveelutions themed on evolution throughout the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic ages? (I'm probably going to put that in another comment or something just for fun because it IS kind of fun to me anyway, I guess).
I want to complete the Pokédex eventually but honestly I really dont even want to touch the fossils. I'd feel directly responsible for their suffering.

I know a lot of people don't understand it but I get very emotionally attatched to things very easily, whether it's an animal in real life, or a fictional character in a book. I know a lot of people who feel the same way, and I can't do anything about it, that's how my brain is wired.

Their entries are meant to be funny and further disprove that the "scientist" who allows you to resurrect them know what they are actually doing. I don't remember her dialog exactly, but I do remember that she seemed to have a screw loose. These creatures she lets you make were never real (in terms of lore), therefore you are actually creating a new creature from bits and pieces of fossils you find. So honestly, as long as you take care of them, they won't be suffering.
Wow I wished they used these Fossil Pokemon True Forms in Pokemon Sword and Shield games but hope finger cross🤞 they'll make their appearence in DLC later in June.
I am praying extremely badly that there's an actual professional Fossil digger that IS NOT Cara Liss who will resurrect the quartet of Fossil Pokemon to their proper, righteous, true former glory! I wish it was like that from the start of the game by default, period! Also, was it necessary to make more horrid chimeric freaks of mad sciences via alternate fossil combinations outside of those what we have now? If that were to happen they would most likely get the Rock type which would make some of them less viable type wise if you go with their original forms, thus making the combinations better competitively. I think that it would be a great improvement that gives more variety and allows people to choose whether or not they want the originals or a combination. Though if they do do that I want them to make all possible types of combinations, not head/head or tail/tail combos though since that is just horrible, but use the unused pieces to make more strange abominations that may or may not be neat. What? I just want to see how they manage to fit Volt’s backside on all the heads since he is so small in comparison. It’s going to look hilarious.

I kinda like the jumbled versions. I feel like there was an incompetent palientologist who was very excited about dinosaurs, and they got their hands on a resurrection device. (I do think the the complete versions in this video look awesome)

Can you imagine a little side-story involving her with your reward being the completed form of the Fossilized Fish, Dino, Drake, and Bird Pokemon if you have the fossils in your bag? I love the new designs, though I have one criticism. They aren't part Rock type. Considering every other fossil mon has been part Rock (including living fossils like Relicanth), their "true" forms would be Rock/Electric, Rock/Dragon, Rock/Ice, and Rock/Water. Presumably the reason the hybrids aren't is solely because Gamefreak has a hard rule on no more than two types on a single pokemon.

holy hell i really wished that they would've added these instead of the abominations we got! we could have passed these off as the previous stages of evolution of some modern pokemon! like the dino fossil being a previous version of lapras and the fish being the previous stage of relicanth, i dunno about the first two because i'm having trouble figuring out which ones would go with these but yeah.
I think it would have been an awesome idea if all 4 of the Galar fossil pokemon had evolutions that caused their two halves to blend together more seamlessly, like if Dacozolt's upper body bulked out a little and the legs/ tail slimmed down upon evolving, and overall just evolving into a pokemon that can properly function in the wild ( I'd call it something like Wyrzolt, Wyvolt or Pteravolt, so that the names also blend together a bit more, instead of being some combo of Draco/ Arcto + Zolt/ Vish).

Why couldn't we actually get the kentrosaurus? We've had a pterosaur: Aerodactyl, pachycephalosaurs: Cranidos/Ramparidos, ceratopsians: Shieldon/Bastiodon, tyrannosaurs: Tyrunt/Tyrantrum, and sauropods: Amaura/Aurorus. Plus a plesiosaur in the form of Lapras, and Torterra is practically an ankylosaur. Stegosaurs are pretty much the ONLY dinosaur family not represented in pokemon, and it would be such an easy transition. Turn the plates into leaves and make the spikes look like stalagmites. Boom - grass/rock type. I guess there are no hadrosaurs either, but how exactly would you turn one of those into a battle worthy pokemon? Maybe a lambeosaurus with a bladed crest or a parasaurolophus using sonic attacks?
What about Paleozoic and Cenozoic creatures? For the former, we have the Omanyte, Kabuto, and Dreepy lines as well as Genesect while the latter only has the Swinub line. Why don't we have Pokemon based off of Dimetrodon and Smilodon and other such creatures of the two eras? I really hope Fossil Pokemon don't die out in future generations and they are beyond better than the abominations of science Galar gave us.
Uhmm, hate to break it to you but, the electrical galar fossilized pokemon was atleast a flying type since in it's "dex" entry (the item description) it says that it flies.
These look awesome 👌 just add rock typing and good to go. I HATE the premise of Galar's fossilmons. I don't agree with justifying their existence as Pokémon. Thanks to one researcher's incompetence, we players were robbed of FOUR distinct fossilmon lines. THE FOSSILS NEVER NEEDED TO BE COMPLETE OR ASSEMBLED TO BE REVIVED. The very idea is contrary to what the Pokémon series had already established. Fossils in other regions were revived using trace bits of DNA to recreate a baby member of the species. Not at all like "assembling a complete skeleton, then zapping it to life" like some kind of deranged necromancer. So if you ask me, that "researcher" mishmashing Galar fossils deserves to be scrutinized for crimes against nature and general incompetence. Cara Liss created perpetually suffering, deformed monstrosities. I find them and the idea of reviving a creature made of incompatible parts both cruel and revolting. Dracovish definitely shouldn't be able to live; it has no respiratory system, digestive tract, heart, or most other organs. It's literally just a head on the tip of a tail. The Galar fossilmons all have this look that screams, "please... kill... me...".

Please give me the pure raptor GameFreak! I want my favourite dinosaur. There was another picture floating around where the four fused fossils were "fixed". It was the one were the upper half of the raptor fit into the draco and it looked more like an actual Pokemon.
Very cool, love the completed forms! My only critique is some of the new fusion forms are too normal. I mean the original fusion forms had one with its head put on upside down and one with a fish head mounted on the end of a tail, while the fan-made fusions are all just kinda clean half and halves right down the middle. Half the fun about the fusions is they are supposed to be looking like they are lowkey suffering. Like for instance, the big Ice Ness with tiny little electric dino legs should look like its gonna topple over under it's own weight, and maybe the electric fishhead should look like its constantly shocking itself.
Names for the new fossils: Raptorzolt: Electric Type (Based on the Velociraptor, because of the feathers, it could also be any other raptor) Dracopelta: Dragon Type (Based on the Sauropelta, it really looks like one, it is an armored Dino plus the name fits) Arctoness: Ice Type (Based on the Plesiosaurus or the Loch Ness Monster, i.e. “Nessie”, I couldn’t think of anything better) Dunkleovish: Water Type (Based on the Dunkleosteus, I am pretty sure that this guy was actually based on the Dunkleostues) Comment if you have any other suggestions Edit: Sorry I didn’t even see that the creator actually gave them names 😅

I feel like the full fossilized bird isn’t a small raptor like in this video. I know they’re related species but I feel like zolt would be a pterodactyl-like Pokemon.
Well remember they’re only about roughly what they looked like in prehistoric times. Check Mega Aerodactyl’s Dex entry. The rocks are said to possibly be it’s true form. Of course this is only theorizing. :)
What would be cool would be maybe a trade evolution gimick where of u trade 2 pokemon which shares a part (ie the fish part) they evolve and becomes the full fish fossil pokemon for both parties. And they can just explain it by saying how enough of the dna allow that pokemon to dominate the form or something. (and if its the same 2 parts then its random chance which one ends they end up as)
Sounds badass to me, minus the RNG/random chance thing. If Nintendo and Gamefreak keep the whole "mix-and-match" and "Piltman Hoax" motif of the Fossil Pokemon, we could see our selves collecting the head and torso/tail fossils of the four present fossils to make another half of another whole chimeric aberration of mad science or we can properly recreate the quartet to their correct, true forms. For Shield's case, the fossils I could get may be a "Fossilized Tailfin" and a "Fossilized Beast" to create "Dunklevish" and "Dracodrill" from the Fossilized Fish and Drake. I will riot if such doesn't happen!
Still wish the game could've given the option of reviving each fossil into their original natural forms rather than play Jurassic World with them. I mean they all look as though their bodies are in agony, I mean one looks as if it literally cant stand being alive due not knowing how its body and head should relax due to how one position involves the head to only face upright against its back, while another looks like it got stuck in a giant snowball and is freezing its ass off, anther has its head upside down, and the last one looks like Squidward after eating too many krabby patties.

Defently not. For once Pterosaurs are compleatly diffrent animals to bird. Birds infact are dinosaurs. With birds having unique traits, only found in Dinousaurs. "Volt" infact is clearly based on Veloceraptor. The shape of the skull clearly shows it. Veloceraptor fits a "bird" very well. Since birds it was feathered and had even feathered wings ( like "volt"). There is even a debate in paleontology, if dromeasaurs (the "raptor" family) should be classefied as flightless birds.

No, they are not. You should not belive everything Lockstin sais. Arcto is a pleisosaurus. Its anotomy fits af all known animals living or extinct only them. No seal in existence had a body like this. Draco is clearly a spiky stegosaur like Kentrosaur or Dacentrurus. Pachycephalosaurus did not even had spikes. He is no expert on this subject, and he often makes mistakes in his video.

I love the new designs, though I have one criticism. They aren't part Rock type.
Considering every other fossil mon has been part Rock (including living fossils like Relicanth), their "true" forms would be Rock/Electric, Rock/Dragon, Rock/Ice, and Rock/Water. Presumably the reason the hybrids aren't is solely because Gamefreak has a hard rule on no more than two types on a single pokemon.

holy hell i really wished that they would've added these instead of the abominations we got! we could have passed these off as the previous stages of evolution of some modern pokemon! like the dino fossil being a previous version of lapras and the fish being the previous stage of relicanth, i dunno about the first two because i'm having trouble figuring out which ones would go with these but yeah.
I feel like Dunklevish (Based off Dunkleosteus) should be water steel as most people compare it’s mouth and bite force to be similar to a bear trap
I think it would have been an awesome idea if all 4 of the Galar fossil pokemon had evolutions that caused their two halves to blend together more seamlessly, like if Dacozolt's upper body bulked out a little and the legs/ tail slimmed down upon evolving, and overall just evolving into a pokemon that can properly function in the wild ( I'd call it something like Wyrzolt, Wyvolt or Pteravolt, so that the names also blend together a bit more, instead of being some combo of Draco/ Arcto + Zolt/ Vish).
I hope they add true forms in the upcoming dlc

unlike the poke-archeologists in the other games the Galar one only has a "theoretical" degree.
Why couldn't we actually get the kentrosaurus? We've had a pterosaur: Aerodactyl, pachycephalosaurs: Cranidos/Ramparidos, ceratopsians: Shieldon/Bastiodon, tyrannosaurs: Tyrunt/Tyrantrum, and sauropods: Amaura/Aurorus. Plus a plesiosaur in the form of Lapras, and Torterra is practically an ankylosaur. Stegosaurs are pretty much the ONLY dinosaur family not represented in pokemon, and it would be such an easy transition. Turn the plates into leaves and make the spikes look like stalagmites. Boom - grass/rock type.
I guess there are no hadrosaurs either, but how exactly would you turn one of those into a battle worthy pokemon? Maybe a lambeosaurus with a bladed crest or a parasaurolophus using sonic attacks?

What about Paleozoic and Cenozoic creatures? For the former, we have the Omanyte, Kabuto, and Dreepy lines as well as Genesect while the latter only has the Swinub line. Why don't we have Pokemon based off of Dimetrodon and Smilodon and other such creatures of the two eras? I really hope Fossil Pokemon don't die out in future generations and they are beyond better than the abominations of science Galar gave us.
I actually want an azdarchid pterosaur pokemon, not a rhamphorynchoid like aerodactyl.

I HATE the premise of Galar's fossilmons. I don't agree with justifying their existence as Pokémon.
Thanks to one researcher's incompetence, we players were robbed of FOUR distinct fossilmon lines.
THE FOSSILS NEVER NEEDED TO BE COMPLETE OR ASSEMBLED TO BE REVIVED. The very idea is contrary to what the Pokémon series had already established. Fossils in other regions were revived using trace bits of DNA to recreate a baby member of the species. Not at all like "assembling a complete skeleton, then zapping it to life" like some kind of deranged necromancer.
So if you ask me, that "researcher" mishmashing Galar fossils deserves to be scrutinized for crimes against nature and general incompetence. Cara Liss created perpetually suffering, deformed monstrosities. I find them and the idea of reviving a creature made of incompatible parts both cruel and revolting. Dracovish definitely shouldn't be able to live; it has no respiratory system, digestive tract, heart, or most other organs. It's literally just a head on the tip of a tail.
The Galar fossilmons all have this look that screams, "please... kill... me...".

There was another picture floating around where the four fused fossils were "fixed". It was the one were the upper half of the raptor fit into the draco and it looked more like an actual Pokemon.
Very cool, love the completed forms! My only critique is some of the new fusion forms are too normal. I mean the original fusion forms had one with its head put on upside down and one with a fish head mounted on the end of a tail, while the fan-made fusions are all just kinda clean half and halves right down the middle. Half the fun about the fusions is they are supposed to be looking like they are lowkey suffering. Like for instance, the big Ice Ness with tiny little electric dino legs should look like its gonna topple over under it's own weight, and maybe the electric fishhead should look like its constantly shocking itself.
Names for the new fossils:
Raptorzolt: Electric Type (Based on the Velociraptor, because of the feathers, it could also be any other raptor)
Dracopelta: Dragon Type (Based on the Sauropelta, it really looks like one, it is an armored Dino plus the name fits)
Arctoness: Ice Type (Based on the Plesiosaurus or the Loch Ness Monster, i.e. “Nessie”, I couldn’t think of anything better)
Dunkleovish: Water Type (Based on the Dunkleosteus, I am pretty sure that this guy was actually based on the Dunkleostues)

Well remember they’re only about roughly what they looked like in prehistoric times. Check Mega Aerodactyl’s Dex entry. The rocks are said to possibly be it’s true form. Of course this is only theorizing. :)

What would be cool would be maybe a trade evolution gimick where of u trade 2 pokemon which shares a part (ie the fish part) they evolve and becomes the full fish fossil pokemon for both parties. And they can just explain it by saying how enough of the dna allow that pokemon to dominate the form or something. (and if its the same 2 parts then its random chance which one ends they end up as)
Sounds badass to me, minus the RNG/random chance thing. If Nintendo and Gamefreak keep the whole "mix-and-match" and "Piltman Hoax" motif of the Fossil Pokemon, we could see our selves collecting the head and torso/tail fossils of the four present fossils to make another half of another whole chimeric aberration of mad science or we can properly recreate the quartet to their correct, true forms. For Shield's case, the fossils I could get may be a "Fossilized Tailfin" and a "Fossilized Beast" to create "Dunklevish" and "Dracodrill" from the Fossilized Fish and Drake. I will riot if such doesn't happen!
Still wish the game could've given the option of reviving each fossil into their original natural forms rather than play Jurassic World with them. I mean they all look as though their bodies are in agony, I mean one looks as if it literally cant stand being alive due not knowing how its body and head should relax due to how one position involves the head to only face upright against its back, while another looks like it got stuck in a giant snowball and is freezing its ass off, anther has its head upside down, and the last one looks like Squidward after eating too many krabby patties.
Dracozolt is the only one that isn't suffering that much.

But I still think each of them are kinda rlly cool in their own right especially dracozolt and I also just really love the reason behind them being put together incorrectly. I see where you’re coming from but I really like the fossils and believe they’re some of the most interesting fossils game freak came up with. I created and released several Dracovish to get one with proper natures and the Strong Jaw ability and I'm no competitive player... "Kill me." "Later." We better get good Galarian Pokemon including the Fossil Pokemon we've seen now or else!

Defently not. For once Pterosaurs are compleatly diffrent animals to bird. Birds infact are dinosaurs. With birds having unique traits, only found in Dinousaurs. "Volt" infact is clearly based on Veloceraptor. The shape of the skull clearly shows it. Veloceraptor fits a "bird" very well. Since birds it was feathered and had even feathered wings ( like "volt"). There is even a debate in paleontology, if dromeasaurs (the "raptor" family) should be classefied as flightless birds.

No, they are not. You should not belive everything Lockstin sais. Arcto is a pleisosaurus. Its anotomy fits af all known animals living or extinct only them. No seal in existence had a body like this. Draco is clearly a spiky stegosaur like Kentrosaur or Dacentrurus. Pachycephalosaurus did not even had spikes. He is no expert on this subject, and he often makes mistakes in his video.
