Would Toriel oppose the absorption? We know from Asriel that the soul being absorbed has at least a little influence on the host's actions, like how Chara asked him to destroy the village
i think toriel will end up acting like the human souls do in the omega flowey fight; she'll help kris by healing them and maybe taking control over gasters body

He doesn't actually seem too evil here (at least compared to the context of the Undertale version of this scene) as at least I can understand what his motivation is. Are you able to voluntarily offer him Toriel's SOUL, and would that lead to a different type of neutral ending? Gaster is basically locking you out of exiting the Underground if you accept his deal, but at least you have the chance for an ending living safely with Asgore in the Ruins if you spared Asgore.
In Undertale, a boss monster SOUL only lasts outside its body for a few seconds before shattering. Can Boss Monster SOULs persist permanently in this AU? I figured Toriel's SOUL would have shattered by the time Gaster finished talking if they didn't.
It sounds to me like Gaster basically snatched it right out of Kris's grasp - "takes it by force" implies that he just took it from them quickly, possibly with him suddenly attacking them to make them drop it. It's like the monster attack equivalent of someone punching you out of nowhere.
Well, regardless of whether she's taken damage her guard's lowered enough for the surprise attack to take her out in one go, much like most any betrayal kill tends to do in Undertale, so there's not really a unique set of circumstances beyond small bits of dialogue that might be different.
