While watching the video all I could think was 'go home.' Go home to where you belong you innocent plush animal. Like me, it wanted to 'live the cool life.' It took a long time to figure out, that's where I did not belong. And eventually, went home too to the life set before me. What a video. Unexpected. Timely reminder, to keep moving forward. The night is over, it's day light now.
That's my story too, in part. You and I have been chasing illusions that became nightmares. Now I just want a quiet place to think, away from the noise and excess and strobing lights.
August Bällgren Actually, it's a sad song. Listen to the version of this song in KEXP and probably you will cry again. It's the best version of New France.
You hang out with your friends, drinking and partying but then you realize your real friend is at home who really cares for you, not your 'friends' who just ditched you for those women in the club. I like this song, too.
Alot of music videos don't have anything to do with the song anyway. It's just a sweet reminder to us not to grow up too quickly and forget about your loved ones from when you were young. The music obviously works with the club scene in the middle though.
Can anyone else think of an electronic artist who manages to mix amazing danceability with beautiful moving music on such a consistant basis as Orbital?
Yet another amazing track from the best DJ's in the world. I'm afraid i have to buy new copies of their albums, because the ones i have can't take much more playtime :)
Great to have the legends Orbital back. Great British electronic music. So many inventive and eclectic electronic DJS, producers and bands have come out of the UK. Orbital, Leftfield, Chemical Bros, Prodigy, Massive Attack, Stereo Mcs, Kosheen, Chase and Status, Goldie, Asian Dub Foundation, Roni Size, Aphex Twin, Burial, Underworld, Amon Tobin, Juno Reactor, Unkle, Allflaws
I saw Zola Jesus as she was supporting Fever Ray. The idea of Zola Jesus and Orbital doing a track together... it's too much awesome for one song to contain!
I think this album grows on you with every listening. At first I didn't like it at all, but it has been grwing and growing. At this moment, I think that it has everything I loved about the good old Orbital, and then a little bit more. Cheers !
having just typed that I realised I overlooked all the best detroit techno producers, underground resistance, suburban knight, and even a lot of the uk techno has beauty in its atmospherics, british murder boys spring to mind. but still, orbital are fucking amazing and one of a kind.
Mate, you are in a minority, of one. I think this is right up there with the best. One of the best albums I own period. And I've got a lot of albums. You are the only person I've ever heard say different.
vid worked for me! Although I'm not sure I quite got the whole eye rolling thing though, don't know if it "read" as the director intended. Great to see these guys back in action, great tune!
Why someone marked Your recording on channel KEXP as violating copyright? It is a pity, because the performance of New France live at KEXP was - in my opinion - the best ever.
I was VFX Supervisor on this video. Can't believe it has been 12 years since we did it. It is still a fantastic track. Justin.
That feeling you got the night you left your childhood behind and joined the massive
Orbital (like Massive Attack) have the best taste in guest vocalists, Zola Jesus is an amazing talent, great track!
Zola is one of most underrated acts I've had the pleasure of listening too, the one good thing spotify ever did for me was recommend her music to me 🙂
Orbital have their way to sample a vocalist so it doesn`t sound like s. on their tracks at least for sure
If you catch yourself singing the vocal even though you don't have a clue what gibberish is being sung... yeah. Orbital's still got it.

Yes orbital is the type of music that the more you listen to it the more you like it .....very additive.

I read it as "ugh, could this night get any worse?" Kind of a final mistake in a night full of emotion.
What a quality track, the best bit of new music in a long time.Well done Orbital :)
