True confidence is so difficult to achieve. I think true confidence is not caring what other people think, but staying humble and kind without letting people step all over you. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I agree 💯 really taking the time and making that time to know yourself so you're able to love yourself with all that comes with. Understanding that you are beautiful just the way you are, not letting others wrong opinions about you define you because you already know who you are. And that's when you've developed confidence within yourself. It's not something you always have, it's something you keep working on every day.

I loved how open you are about not having a parental figure and having to switch schools so many times. I wouldn’t have guessed that caused the confidence but makes sense having to rely on yourself all the time and reintroduce yourself.

If you haven't done Brene Browns Shame Resilience course...... trust me it will change how you see yourself and others and it's a very practical way to break down "guilt" and "shame" the difference and carrying things that aren't yours to carry! I do it every few yrs because this things are always changing in my life. It will help you focus on things that truly are yours. So applicable to everyone no matter where you are in life!

This is the most refreshing podcast on confident I’ve ever listened to. The part where you talked about friendships and feelings was so refreshing to me because it makes me realize that I’m not crazy and what I’m asking for out of a friend isn’t too much. Thank you for articulating everything I have ever felt.

Same. I can stand up to anyone else except my father. Not that I’m necessarily scared of him but it tears me down if I feel like I disappointed him. But in adulthood and after becoming a mother and getting married I have finally found my voice to stand up to him and set those boundaries I was never able to before because he held financial dependence over my head for years before that. Very very similar backgrounds I feel like with you. So thank you for validating it and talking about it

Kristin Cavallari nailed this podcast. She has rightfully earned her throne as THE influencer queen of Hollywood. It's a long time coming since Laguna Beach in '06.
If there's a group that could replace the Kardashian dynasty, KC's inner circle is the closest to that. She may NOT be a household name, but her experience in reality media alone makes her strong enough to last in this brutal business. Take note KC is doing all this WITHOUT a manager.

I used to be really insecure and shy (since I was a child). No one was coaching me about how to gain confidence (except maybe my mother but I never liked her suggestions, like when she forced me into a pageant at age 5, lol). Over the years I put myself in situations where I was tasked with helping other people through jobs or volunteering and that helped take the focus off of myself and what people were thinking of me. And then I started participating in activities I enjoyed and got better at over time (like dance class). I've found that learning about anything I'm interested in, practicing self care and using more positive self talk all helped me to become more confident over time. The more you have to be proud of (not in an egotistical way) the more confident you are. The more you raise your standards the more confident you become. It takes intention and practice. And it should be enjoyable.

For me as a female in my 40s who is social and have never had issues making friends. I had to learn the hard way not to let everyone in. It was very awkward for me at first to say NO and express my boundaries upfront. After much practice and tears I definitely am not being pulled down by needy/codependent people. Basically I was an “Enabler”. TY 💜

One of the things people say about me is that I have no confidence, I would take this as a insult and kinda hurtful. My view point is that people are confident in different areas on their life but I only said that to myself to make me feel better. I never know what are the steps to increase your confidence. I am going to try to do the things I enjoy and what makes me me! Thank you for this conversation

I also had a similar situation with a friend, I tried to confront them but got a bunch of gaslighting. Then they bring up something personal that has nothing to do with the situation just to gain the upper hand, because they know it's a sensitive subject. I could not deal with the fact that when I have a problem I can't really talk about it and it's frustrating to be friends with someone who never takes accountability. I also don't like that my own information gets used against me in such a manipulative way. Sometimes I wonder if they were actually my friend or just my secret hater. Oftentimes there comes a point where you can't make excuses for a person anymore. It's really difficult to trust people but also hard not to become too isolated when you cut people off.

It’s as if you’re reading my mind to the podcast. I resonate so much with the childhood trauma which I’m working through. The dad narcissist issue. My only “father figure” is my step dad and he’s a full blown narcissist alcoholic. Still traumatizing to be around him. I wish I could pick up my younger self and just hugged her and comforted her when she was scared and in so much pain. I definitely have been faking it for so long in so many aspects of my life. It’s not until recently that when everything was stripped away from me that I’m starting to analyze and rebuild a new me with a lot less toxic ppl around. Thank you for this podcast and being so real. You’re quite literally reading my soul and I’m incredibly grateful to know that someone else understands these feelings🫶🏼

You were absolutely wrong about your friend on very cavalleri. The whole conversation audio aired and she never said you were wrong for what you felt she just wanted you to see that that rumor ALSO MADE HER LOOK BAD being accused of being a mistress and betraying your best friend is a big deal when that’s not your character so she had every right to defend her character and you thought that was adding fuel to the fire but what would you have done? If your best friend was like hey can you not talk about it bc it just adds fuel to the fire but your character is being attacked publicly and you’re not supposed to say anything? There’s no way you’d just stay quiet so she was right you were wrong and she was just as hurt as you were that you couldn’t see it from her perspective AT ALL. ALL you wanted was for her to bow down to your wishes but that’s not right. You should have been an understanding friend to her and you weren’t it was all about you. Unfortunately when you have narcissistic parents it’s inevitable that you adopt some of those characteristics and in that situation you were not the victim.

Kristin you know and I know when a woman is confident she’s pegged as a B. Nothing against men, but having worked in predominantly male industries, woman who show too much confidence is frowned upon in girl and boy groups.
Men are typically very competitive, and when a woman shows the same trait they back away.
Confident woman are threats to men, and woman.
Yeah I know all the clichés
“ a man threatened by a confident woman is insecure “ or who cares about what others think”
But it’s just seems consistent in certain industries that a confident woman is a threat to both sexes.

It seems like you blame your dad for alot when you were a self-admitted ‘bad’ and ‘rebellious’ kid. You said yourself that you were having issues with your mom as a teen and thats why you chose to go live with your dad. It sounds like you put your parents through alot and somehow forgive your mom for anything that bothered you about her but not your dad, though he was the ine who was supportive of you doing Laguna Beach and is the reason you have the career you have today. You’e also dropped alot of wisdom that he gave you and great lessons he taught. You said he helped you alot in multiple ways. I honestly feel really bad for your father who tried his best given how bad a kid you were and gave you everything you needed financially. If you ever struggled it was because of your own doing. I cant imagine how horrible it is for your dad losing his son and then his daughter cuts him off and bashes him on the internet. I hope you can reach out to him one day and go to therapy together to open the lines of communication. Lots of ppl will say your a bad mom because of what they see online so you should know how hard being a parent is and that theres no manual on it. Remember your kids could grow up and call you toxic as well.

If you've ever dealt with a narcissist therapy doesn't work unfortunately, which she has stated her father is ❤

She’s also stated dealing with her dads behavior through her adult years and that he had a particular situation involving her children, that’s what caused the cut off. I wouldn’t be so quick to judge since you don’t have the exact story

Her dad is a narcissist though. I'm guessing you've been fortunate enough to not meet one. My sister in law is a narcissist. She was my best friend until one day she flipped on a dime and suddenly wasn't my friend anymore. I still see her because she's family. She is in the process of draining my MIL and FIL of all their time and finances. She is absolute hell to deal with. I cannot imagine what having a narcissistic parent must be like but there is no compromising, no forgiveness, it's their way or the highway all the time. They will regularly choose themselves over their children. I've seen my SIL do it with her own kids. Kristin was smart to cut him out. They are all abuse, all the time, and then they pretend like you are the problem. It's insane.

@Harperangel59 Everyone on the internet calls ppl they dont like ‘narcissists’ these days - its the most thrown around word as much as ‘fascist’ and ‘nazi’. If you’re not saying what someone actually did then why even call them that. When she says she had an incident ‘with her kids’ that could mean anything. Maybe she was spoiling them and they were being disrespectful and he suggested to change her parenting, which its normal for our older parents to do. We really dont know since shes super vague about it and her dad isnt a social media influencer to have a way of telling his side - nor does he want to because he respects his daughter and privacy too much. I like Kristin but I dont like how she went about this issue with her dad. None of that had to be public and its not fair to diagnose ppl who cant even give their opinion. However, everything she says out of her own mouth sounds like she was a terror as a daughter, so there’s definitely two sides to the story. Seems strange that ppl just take what one person says as fact without getting the backstory - its the same with fake news and cancel culture on the internet. You just believe anything without evidence.

@@MyChannel-ul3tm no. I disagree. I watched the episode she did on narcissism. Everything she said completely resonated with me. Once you've known a narcissist it's like this sick club that you are in and don't want to be. I can tell by what she said that she is telling the truth about her father because I've been through the same crap. That being said, you are right in that narcissism is a term that's thrown around too casually and the people that do that don't really know what a true narcissist is. Once you've really seen one in action though it's one of those "if you know you know" situations.

Why are you supporting Wayfair if you’ve been deep in the conspiracies like you say then you know about Wayfair.

In her recent “suspect” Reel w Justin, you can see the self centeredness with KCav. Bragging about having multiple guys in rotation. Grow the eff up. No one cares. it’s not a flex to be a divorced woman trying to hand out dating advice to others.

I agree. I really enjoy her podcasts but the "I'm so hot" and "I have men falling all over me" talk is getting old. She is hot and maybe she does have a lot of guys going after her but the bragging is getting irritating.

She doesn’t care that she bothers you. You still went out of your way to go onto her TH-cam to judge her about her silly insta reel. If she bugs you then stop tuning in lol
