I miss my dad so much. He was an incredible outdoorsman that grew up in Maine and gently and kindly passed down knowledge his entire life. In 2020, I purchased 20 acres that abuts National forest and named it Camp Honey Bear (that's what my parents would call each other). Dad was in a memory care facility at the time and passed before COVID was over. He never had an opportunity to see CHB but I feel his presence and my mom's so much when Im there. I felt my Dad's encouragement, guidance and glee when I also doubled on opening morning and was able to harvest 2-9pts at 8:30 and 10:30. Kids, if you have a parent that likes to hunt or fish...go with them. Just once, if that's all you want, but do it. Bring your phone and play games, but just BE THERE. You will never regret that few hours, never.
Congrats on your opening day success , pretty awesome ! BTW ,your wife shot some excellent footage of your buck. Quick camera adjustments & an excellent bullet impact shot. Yup, she's a Keeper !
I'm thankful I live near the kurnz family farm. They farm all around my house. It's awesome out here. A lot of deer to watch. Never a dull day. I'm looking at 37 out my front bay window right now
Glad to see folks getting outside and getting away from screen time! Congratulations all hunters!! Hopefully all the first timers and newbies have caught the “deer hunting fever” and carry it to the next level. Learning woodsman-ship, stealth, reading deer sign and learning how to get close enough to put an arrow on its mark. Nothing like this ultimate challenge! My two questions to hunters is: “How close were you able to get to him?” AND “What is something new that you learned by watching the deer and other critters?”
Hope everyone enjoyed the great episode! My questions: Why 2 buck tags in the northern MI? Why do successful deer hunter patches cost $8 when they used to be free if you checked your deer?
I guess if you hunt in a preserve, this is what kind of deer numbers you see... They should try hunting state land and see if they have as many deer out in front of them...
I see Father and son walk to the blind with orange on. Once the father and son get in the blind, they take their orange off and each one shoots a buck with ZERO orange showing. The son actually had a reversible hat on with the orange not showing and the camouflage showing. I think they got awesome bucks, but they shot the bucks sans orange on, and you taped them Jimmy.
Love the show but i feel the no hunter orange deserves a follow up segment on your next episode. You cant have your viewers thinking that it is not required, or if in some way that was legal maybe you could explain that to us also. Otherwise great episode
@jessedean5127 not crying but they are involved with the DNR and the DNR wanted more Does killed this year. I just thought they could of lead by example....

Speed kills! I’ve been using faster/lighter bullets the last few years and never had such good blood trails and recoveries. I’ve become a believer.
I love this show
Amazing 👍🇺🇲
that was awesome!
Good show Jimmy!
grats!!!Crazy how many doe there are

MUST OWN OR LEASE THOUSANDS OF ACRES!! SO MANY MATURE BUCKS!! NOT NORMAL.
I was wondering where all the deer went 😂

How much does a hunt cost
@@Chuck-h5b FOR YOU $1000.00 ANYONE ELSE $100.00

Gotta see this trigger finger! I heard bout it. Lol
How many acres? Must be a lot of acreage with this many hunters

@johncoffin5136 I was looking that up too. The dnr said you need to wear orange.
I am surprised the father and son did not have the proper amount of orange on when they shot their deer what do you say to that?
Unreal the amount of negativity I see on every single hunting video on TH-cam 🤦♂️
WTF...What deer camp shoots a dozen great bucks the first day? Sus...
No orange ? Another thing shooting towards rd
This is what you chose to see? God bless you!
Forgot some orange in one segment…. Oops…🤣🤦🏻
Apparently you guys didn't get the message from the DNR. The ÐNR wanted more DOES shot. I didn't see any DOES shot on your show (all BUCKS)...
Who cares…It’s their tag and their hunt. Nobody cares about you crying.
@jessedean5127 not crying but they are involved with the DNR and the DNR wanted more Does killed this year. I just thought they could of lead by example....
So you don't need to wear orange in a deer blind ?
This is what you chose to see? God bless you!
@@only-deerit's about hunting safe, right
@@genenoud9048 Don't shoot towards a deer blind....
