The container you used to mix up custom water is the same thing I use at work to measure urine :)

I purchased a few month ago the new Flair58 and the Bluetooth Pressure Transducer and use it with the Smart Pressure profiler app and my Acaia Lunar scale. This is not my primary espresso machine but I use it a few times a week to experiment with different profile. My primary espresso machine is a La Marzocco Linea Mini which I love .
I am enjoying the Flair58 with the smart espresso profiler but it’s not my daily driver.

I have a LMLM which I love too much to trade on a different machine. I have been thinking about getting a flair58 with the pressure profiler to experiment with.

Looks like a fun machine to play around with. I've got an Odyssey Espresso Argos shipping to me soon which shares some similarities to this, but with a bit more features and polish. They're also developing their own app to go with SEP and smart scale integration.

Is this pressure transducer going to be available commercially? If so, will it be available for the Flair 58 and will it cost significantly less than the SEP?

Very cool! I wonder if the popsicle can be integrated to a cafelat robot or flair?

Awesome, love your content and use bean conqueror every day! Do you know what sort of price these transmitter kits will be?

i also have a jian yi! would love to hear any opinion you might have on the circle stone they put inside the shower screen. Also how long do you heat the machine? i've noticed that the metal part you fix the portafilter on (where also the pressure gauge is) needs extra time to heat up. thanks

So what's the benefit of this? Can you specify a pressure profile and control it with this setup? How does pressure effect the caffeine, tannine and flavor of the final cup? I'm clearly not the target audience for this so I'm not familiar with how this way of brewing coffee differs from more conventional means.

It's all just more tools to help you reach your god shot
Espresso has typically been pulled at 9 bar pressure, but modern espresso has gotten pretty experimental in terms of flow/pressure profiled shots. In fewer words, you can have 2 shots that highlight different tastes of the same bean just by changing the speed you move water through the coffee puck. This doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a better shot, but what this allows is, once you've managed to pull what you think is the best shot you're going to get from a particular bean, to go back and see exactly what you did so you can try and do it again.
