Aside from using the three-act structure with the eight-point arc method, one of the first things I like to do when prepping for a story is mind-mapping with Gitmind, an organization brainstorming app to "brain dump" my ideas in one place, and I also like outlining on paper in a notebook. I have Scrivener, but I barely use it and just like manually using note cards for my Acts and plot points.

I would love to see a video breaking down the Save the Cat Writes a Novel story beats!
As for outlining, I tend to outline each chapter, which I consider one type of creativity. The second type is when I write the actual chapter and get to fill in the small details that enrich the story. :)
Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way! Hope you’re feeling okay!

Ah, such a useful video, thank you! I love Save the Cat Writes a Novel, but there are certain beats in that book that are very vague with little to no guidance. A video series from you would be awesome!

After watching this video, I've decided to use outlining on my next Space Trade nonfiction book. Thank you!

I'm a pantser. What little I outline, I do in a linear text file. If you want virtual/digital sticky notes, Scrivener is the original. Many other novel writing software now have it too.

I prefer the sticky notes method solely because I like seeing everything all at the same time....is it taking up a whole wall of my downstairs? Yes. Is it worth it? Also yes. I can see all 5 books at the same time hahaha

I’ve been working on a book series called Grace undercover book one: Hidden Hearts and am 3 chapters from finishing my very first book. I’ve prepared it a few months ago. I also have a very hard time outlining my stories. But I have a writing app called Novelist and it’s been helping me to outline my stories in one app and the other thing I like about the app is I could publish my books through the app as well

For me the Trellis Method by Grant Ferguson has really helped.

Hey Mandi-lynn. Not sure if you're aware of this, but someone else is using your name on another platform, trying to divert watchers to her own website, as if she's partnering WITH YOU.
    Just so you know.
