Excellent Sterling. Around episode 3, I encouraged my wife to watch this entire series with me. Thank you my friend for this excellent production. It’s given her an understanding of the peace, joy, challenges, perseverance, calculated risks, and sense of accomplishment that we enjoy from solo expeditions. Very well done. Alan
That was truly epic Sterling. When I was in the Army they encouraged us to exercise our rights to visit East Berlin. Likewise thanks for encouraging us to exercise our rights to make sure our great back roads and open areas remain free and accessible. You are the modern Moto patriot if you don’t mind me saying. Peace brother! 🛤🏜🌵⛺️🦦🏞
Thank you! The freedom to access and use our public lands is important to me, as is the responsibility to take care of them and preserve them. You can't have freedom without responsibility.
I’m now the proud Owner of my first Adventure bike because of you. Absolutely loved the “Riding Solo” videos. I learned so much. Extremely well done. 👏🏽
The spirit of adventure is what drives us. The thrill of new vistas, the silence and solitude, the emotions, the revelations all spawned by our journey. I ride a Harley, too fat for all but the laziest of roads. I camp like a vagabond, pitching shelter, primitive and simply. I have a destination and path in mind… but it often changes. Curiosity, and a paper map, often guide my aimless venture. Embracing what comes, I quietly learn to enjoy my folly, whether its grand or mild, and in doing so I live life like a King, incognito and anonymously, famously. Thanks Sterling! I hope one day to meet.
I enjoyed this series. Anyone who’s made a ride video will appreciate how much time goes into something like this. A shot of you riding by involves spotting the location, setting up the camera, going back then riding by, then coming back to get the camera. A 3 second shot could take 15 minutes or more to make. I also appreciate the pacing and work to give us a flavor of your experience - the quiet moments at camp, the fun of cooking a good meal, the challenges of weather and bikes down. I think something I learned from this is that camp meals can be more than rehydrated food. Obviously that takes time, planning and weight to make happen, but it’s something I would like to try (so far I’ve just done “ultralight” adventuring with minimal gear). I will also check out revver - looks like a cool way to plan an adventure. Thank you for taking the time to put this series together.
I have been addicted to this series!! Thanks so much for the adventure. I'm looking at doing a similar trip, although not as long and down from the north as I am here in northern Alberta, Canada. Looking forward to watching your next trip!
Thank you so much for this intoxicating series... truly magical viewing which we have enjoyed on so many levels. To my mind these episodes have represented the very best of the genre. In a space where so many productions amount to no more than a succession of set pieces interwoven with adventure bike clichés, your perfect juxtaposing of the form and function of motorcycle travel with real world philosophy have been a real joy, a truly elemental experience. When sanity returns to the world I look forward to visiting your part of it..... on two wheels.... of course 😊👍
Firebox - hammocks - BMW GS - Riding the west - Been there done that. Gotta love it. Thanks for making the effort - You've got way more patients than I'll ever have for having documented such a trip...
Made my first big road trip from Cali to Houston this past fall and the ending with the sunset brought back so many good memories from that trip. Thank you.
i am from the UK and watching you riding solo on theas back roads has rely opend my eyes not only to the USA but also back roads of UK and beyond .thank you for sharing your journey with us .
I truly ENJOYED this entire series ...... AWESOME job showing us all the "hidden" beauty that we often just take for granted, in our everyday, busy lives !!!! "Thank you" .....
Hi sterling. What a fantastic series. Well edited Lovely scenery and interesting stories. Thoroughly enjoyed All. Thank you for taking us with you. Old dave (Sunderland. England) stay safe.
Really enjoyed the series, very relaxing & beautiful landscapes. Thank you for making an epic travel documentary. I cannot imagine traveling these distances on my motorcycle but it's great to see how it can be done. 👍
Sterling. This series has keep me going here in the UK. COVID-19 lockdown has been hard on us all. Also Europe is calling out for me once restrictions have lifted 6000miles is a struggle here on an island 😂. Keep them coming they are great to watch 🎥👍🏻
Truly an epic account of a way of traveling , that few people really understand. If it was easy , everyone would do it. The roughing it increases the sense of accomplishment! Stepping back increases your view! Thank you
Thanks a lot Sterling for taking the time to capture your trip on video for us. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and you’ve definitely piqued my interest in this style of riding and camping.
Thank you Sterling. I’m a GS rider and love the big and small adventures too. Great filming and stories. Thanks for the effort, and look forward to more.
What a rich experience as the viewer to be able to adventure virtually with you. Really cool to be able to binge the series in a few days, some advantage to waiting for the weekly updates on “live” adventures. Thanks for your service to the adv community.
I’m with you on the old buildings and poking around. I’m always a little sad because it just seems like this was someone’s dream at some point. Enjoy your work! Keep it up!
I have to say I really admire your life philosophy and your life style. Not only is your photography and video work outstanding, but your choice of what to film and where to ride is spectacular. Obviously you are an experienced motorcycle camper, but to me your level of organization and gear selection is amazing. What a nice perspective you have. Thanks for sharing your rides.
Thank you for putting this together. It was a joy to watch and an inspirational way to take advantage of the wild ride that 2020 has been. An amazing trip. Thanks again for sharing it.
Hey Sterling this has been a great series. There are plenty of series about this kind of riding but yours stands out for your great photography and your laid-back, relaxing commentary - so many of us have taken a lot of comfort during trying times from watching your videos. Thank you sir for doing this! I think I may just replay them all marathon-style over the next couple of days to be sure I didn't fail to hit "like" on any of them.
What a great journey! As a European tourist I have seen quite a bit of the USA, but watching your series made me want to do the same trip! What stunning views and places you have shown us. I hope I will be able to ride the same tracks. Thanks for sharing and my compliments on the way you have shot the scenes and edited it all to a very professional and enjoyable series. Best regards Norman from Holland
Sterling, thank you for sharing this adventure with us. Your videography,, photography, and storytelling skills are amazing. Your camp cooking ain't too shabby either. I'm sad to see this series come to an end.
Kia ora from New Zealand. Really enjoyed this whole series and now I have an overwhelming urge to cook a steak on a firebox, drink a beer from a 32oz hydro flask and sit on a tiny chair. Not sure my Suzuki DR650 can carry a table as well but I'll give it a try! Great work sir!
I will finish a ground up rebuild restoration of a 2005 KLR650 this weekend... my first taste of adventure riding. I am inspired by your videos, and thank you for taking the time to share mate. Fantastic content with plenty of practical information. Thanks again 🇦🇺👍🏻
Awesome series! One episode randomly popped-up in my suggested videos. A few minutes in I knew I had to go back and watch from the start, so I did. Thoroughly enjoyed every episode! Wonderful editing, cinematography, music selections, random tidbits of information, and watching all the great camp-side meals you made. Thanks for sharing the experience!
Sterling, you really have the eye for what looks fantastic on film . Your videos are such high quality and great sound tracks too . Really enjoy your work. Great job oh and u make me hungry cooking up lovely meals too . Looking forward to when we are allowed to go out motorcycle camping again.
What wonderful video, bringing some calm and peace into a hellish, twisted country filled with hate and distrust. I will visit the places you have shown me much different than my home. Thank you ,regards, James.
Hands down one of the best motorcycle series I've watched. Wednesday and Sunday mornings will not be the same without my 10 minute slice of peace and tranquility in the backcountry. Many thanks!
Spent several years testing Army equipment at Fort Huachuca and visited Bisbee many times. Had breakfast at the Copper Queen. Watched most of your videos about solo travel. Great videos, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Sterling! Awesome. Can't believe the amount of energy and time you have to put into this to bring us this type of experience. Looking forward to so much more.
I've followed this series from the beginning, and have been really impressed with all your photography and comments along way. Well done Sterling, I took my first journey ride this summer and this series has given me more fuel to do more!! Looking forward to your next series.
I have to say what a wonderful series I so much enjoyed it, I am from the UK currently everything here is lock down since Xmas, the series inspired me to be free almost I was riding with you, America is so vast and so beautiful, I loved the coloured rocks in the Rockys, I loved the wildlife filming particually the family of skunks, I never seen them before, I spent over 40 yrs motorcyling in Europe, I did Daytona and most of Florida, my biggest trip was to motorcycle New Zealand north and south island, my biggest love was Scotland great mountains and places, I had to stop riding at 63 with diabetis and had to have my left foot amputated its been such a tough year, 2 of my sons followed my motorcycle adventures, my youngest son is a big wild camping fan and just purchased the Firebox and table you use, the best series I have watched great filming and thank you so much for providing such a great trip, waiting for your next best wishes John
Thank you for the comment John. So sorry to hear about your tough times recently but glad to know you found some enjoyment in the videos. Also good to hear that your boys are into exploring wild places and camping. Take care and I hope to continue giving you some comfort through more videos to come in the hard times!
Wow ! What a great series 👍 I've been hooked on watching this. OK you've enjoyed it, absolutely, the Ups n Downs are part of it, as you say, but for us sat here on the sofa, we were right along there with you man, especially when you had Your Get Off on that trail. Man, we could feel the Burn 🔥 so glad you were OK. I wondered how long it would be before you "Replaced the Rubber" episode 22 new tyres 😉. Anyway, glad you made it in One Piece. Fabulous filming and a great bike. Roj UK 🇬🇧
Sterling, I watched all 23 episodes and really enjoyed your ride. Opened my eyes to expand my own rides to include backroads and remote camping. Great job!
Amazing series. Beats finding something on Netflix! Also made me up my game in terms of camping gear and stuff I need to buy for my motorcycle-adventures in the coming summer, THANK YOU ! :)
8:53 on Episode 16 with the drone footage - BEST EVER - the images and the music - Great job = looked forward to every episode from your trip - inspiring
I've really enjoyed this series Sterling. I appreciate the time and effort you made to turn it into this great documentary, it's been a great ride! Thanks for sharing your adventures and i'm ready for the next one
I've greatly enjoyed these videos. The relaxed pace mirrors my adventure riding style and aspirations. Mostly, I enjoy watching your videos and pretending that I still live in a free country. That feeling is now a rare commodity. Your beautiful videos are making it very difficult for me not to strap my waterproof bags on my bike and point it southwest.
Sterling, THANK YOU for a fantastic video series. In the past I have taken several solo motorcycle trips through the west. It was great seeing some of the places I've been and ever better seeing new places.
lately ive started following your channel and watching almost all your videos, and i must say you r the best story teller and the filmmaker as a motorcyclist, you are an inspiration for this genres. Hats off sir, and much love from India, wish to do ride together some day :)
I watched all the episodes of this trip. Beautiful adventure. 😁👌 I like how you film, how you edit, how you take your shots. 🎥 you're a good videographer. 🙏😊 This type of episodes are very easy to watch, it's a pleasure and confortable. 😁 Good luck in future travel projects. 😁🤝 Greetings from Europe, România. 🌏🙋♂️
Like many viewers, I did not want this to end. Excellent work, Sterling, in all aspects, honest, true, real and not least of which, a familiar relief, if only for a short time, to those of us sequestered at home. Hope springs eternal.
Thoroughly wanted to thank you for being us along. Tomorrow I pick up two 2022 new KLR Adventure bikes for my wife and I so we can enter the adventure world. Again thank you sir.
sleepness night, that happens from time to time...lucky enough to get on your channel and traveled the rest of my night. we met once in Beesbee while passing by on my Harley. I've been living on the bike for the past two years, meandering the North American landscape. My big rig doesn't allow me too many dirt roads...unfortunately. Time to change I guess and go for a dual-sport....Thank you Sterling for the journey. I will stop By soon at the motel..
Thank you Sterling for this wonderful presentation - a life long motorcyclist, and fellow BMW enthusiast I cannot begin to tell you how it served to rekindle my passion and enthusiasm for our two-wheeled adventure. On our next weekend getaway with our riding group, we'll stay in Bisbee. There's a lovely motel there owned by a kind gentleman and his wife who share our love of motorcycle travel. I look forward to following your channel and have already shared it with many friends. Safe journey, friend.
Thanks for an excellent journey - Enjoyed every episode and shall miss my weekly dose of riding, cooking and hammocks! Thanks for showing us the back roads of some amazing places.
Great series! Awesome work. As a lifelong amateur photog and occasional filmer, I appreciated all the detail shots you did. Definitely something I try to do and go lots of inspiration from your edits. You've inspired me to get out more with my new (last year) dual sport and film. I bet its so much easier doing it solo and not having to worry about holding anyone back so you can take your shots. Keep it up!
This wonderful video brought to mind when needed, but didn’t some trips I have taken. By the time that last day rolls around, I hopped on the bike, buckled my chin strap, and rode straight home. Stopped for gas and used a rest room when needed, but didn’t stop for meals, and definitely did not stop to see sights or take pictures. Sterling, on the other hand, took his time and soaked it all in. He shared his inner thoughts and his perspective, and spoke about things he likes. That, along with wondrous cinematography, made this episode stand out. I tip my hat to you, sir! Be well, and be safe.
Really "top flight" adventure motorcycle series. I would pay to learn how to film like that. I'm a GS owner we are lucky to have people out traveling and filming. This is the best of all I've seen. Thanks for filming this Sterling.
Hey Stirling, Thank you for putting in the time and effort to make this series. It is inspiring and you have given me some great ideas and a new perspective on what adventure riding can be. Keep on making great content. I love all of it.
Thanks Sterling for the inspiring look at solo motorcycle travel in the West. This series breaks the mold of most of the motorcycle docs I see on YT. Awesome!
Great series. I looked forward to every video and found each one of them an enjoyable, calming experience during these crazy times. Thank you for all the hard work.
How random, I just happened to pick Pie Town as a destination for my next solo moto camping trip a couple weeks ago, and then today I discovered your channel and saw this video! I’m also a van camper who has a Chevy Express. Great channel man, keep up the good work!
Really liked your series, it was nice an mellow. Its great to slow down enjoy the simple things, especially during the Covid situation, and not let life get the better of you.
Fantastic series and what a huge inspiration you for small creators as my self. Showing what is possible with so little equipment is just great. Really like the way you tell the story with both the camera and your voice. Thank you so much, can't wait to see what you have in store for us next. Cheers from Norway 🇳🇴

True words, one must learn to appreciate things without the urge to own it.
Well said, yup.
I'd like to thank you for the series. I've been watching it "religiously" as it brought so much needed tranquility. Such a simple, but awesome form.
Amen t' that Bro 👍

On our next weekend getaway with our riding group, we'll stay in Bisbee. There's a lovely motel there owned by a kind gentleman and his wife who share our love of motorcycle travel. I look forward to following your channel and have already shared it with many friends. Safe journey, friend.
Sterling thanks for taking us along! I enjoyed this series.
Excellent! What a romantic way to close this serie. I look forward to your next experiences. Thank you, I will stay tuned.
What an epic series i can’t wait to see more giving me the itch to get out on my tiger and just go
A fantastic peaceful journey, beautifully filmed.
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed the series and hope you check back for more to come!
This is amazing documentary channel, Thank you Sterling keep doing this, you have a good story and you're the great videomaker.all by yourself 👍👍
Really "top flight" adventure motorcycle series. I would pay to learn how to film like that. I'm a GS owner we are lucky to have people out traveling and filming. This is the best of all I've seen. Thanks for filming this Sterling.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey Stirling, Thank you for putting in the time and effort to make this series. It is inspiring and you have given me some great ideas and a new perspective on what adventure riding can be. Keep on making great content. I love all of it.
Thanks so much!
I would just be repeating many of the comments. So well done. A quiet break it is to watch your vids. Mahalo Sterling.
Really enjoyed this series. Thanks for posting (from the UK)
Thanks so much! Takk skal du ha?
