The Shoujo artstyle really hit home to a time some years ago when I myself was OBSESSING over every single classic shoujo manga that I could get my hands on😂 I was a young teenage boy mind you and tried acting all tough on the outside due to a hard upbringing, so I was a bit shocked to experience how much I resonate with Caesar's idea of her character
The theme of all 3 of her trailers is defying expectations. First was the shower scene out of left field at the end of her action packed demo, then the teaser completely shifting tone and being a wholesome story about her first meeting Lucy and her teaching her to play piano, and now her EP is revealing she's secretly a girly girl.
Love the shoujo style! I sing for a hobby so I get the urge to sing along. The vocal's sooo good! My schedule is still full so I might have to do the quest around the last week again. Yeah I can only comment on vids I can watch. So many vids to catch up, just letting you guys know I'll watch all of them eventually 😂
to be fair from just trailers caesar gives up a tough outside but shes fun and happy and cute inside look at her being playful stealing lucy hair product and also her learning the piano shes sweet but tough a pure maiden on inside is what i got from trailers
That was obviously Wise, because if it was meant to be the male love interest of the manga she’s reading, the hair would’ve been red since that’s the color on the cover, but it’s Wise’s hair color
Pretty sure its Wise she was self-inserting into the manga she was reading given he is the only Gray hair guy she knows lol it can't be Lighter given he hair is jet black.
Caesar loves romance novels/movies but she can't admit it, or at least she feels that she can't, because she thinks that everyone looks up to her to be a badass, resolute, stoic leader. Liking stuff like this openly would "tarnish her rep" in her mind (but in reality no one would really give a damn because it's what's inside that counts and Caesar proves that she's worthy of being a leader). So she just hides this part of herself. We also know that when she was a kid, she thought her life was worthless and lamented how much it sucked, talking to Big Daddy about why they suffer so much in the Outer Ring, before she met Lucy and realized that the Outer Ring is actually a lot more valuable than it seems at first glance. Caesar fantasizes about the thing that she feels that she can't possess because of her duty to the people of the Outer Ring. She likes New Eridu, and the flashyness that it has. She wanted the life of a "normal girl" in the city, but always felt that it was out of reach for her, so she eventually embraced the life that she has now. She has come to peace with that life, but secretly and quietly, she embraces this fantasy which is why she gets flustered when people glimpse it. Also, I totally think that dude is supposed to be Wise, and even when the manga is colored, not just black and white, the male character STILL has a short hair cut with grey hair when he actually has "red" hair in the Manga, she is fantasizing about a dude with grey hair that's fairly tall...she also called the Proxy (Wise or Belle) her "friend", showing that she distances herself, afraid of being rejected and hurt, like she reads about the characters in her comics.
