Great to see some local folks making it down the coast! Can't wait to get our boat out there. I miss the California coast. Have great memories of crewing on the American Tallship Lady Washington and sailing her down from Washington to California back in 2014, there are so many wonderful little harbours on that coast, and San Francisco is really special. Enjoy it. We are hoping to have our boat ready in 4-5 years to make the jump to the south Pacific.
Hey Ryan! Sounds like you had a pretty unreal time! We also really loved SF. Maybe we'll catch up with you somewhere out here along the way :) Good luck with your preparations!
Used to in near crescent Bay in Arcata. You guys got some good weather windows it looks like. We used to see some pretty knargly weather off of cape Mendocino. Happy travels!
Just came across your channel, you are now one of the six west coast sail channels I follow. All About Spray is also one of my go to channels. Will slowly try and catch up to the current video, which I have watched.
WOW IM SO PROUD OF MY FRIENDS. Miss you but so happy to see you livin your dreams. Can’t watch to make a feature one day when I come visit. Sab you killed it with the editing. Star power baby
@@SailingSeaDreamofClyde We are a Fraser 36, but we have the same hull as an Endurance 35! Thanks! We had the Dodger fabricated in Campbell River a few months before we took off, we are so happy with it!
@@sailingtaku Nice. I thought I recognized the hull style! Those Dekleer Brother hulls are great. I was very interested in a few Endurance 35s before I settled on the Westerly Discus I randomly came across moored at French Creek. Looking forward to watching your future videos!
Great video...I subscribed 👍 Some advice.....I would take the winches off the mast and put them near the cockpit. That's what I did. Better to stay safe in the cockpit during a storm and high winds! I am living on Fogo Island, on the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦 Happy Sailing and stay safe!
I am equal parts thrilled and terrified for you! Lol What an amazing adventure! You guys are incredible and I love that we can follow along. Stay safe, sending lots of love! 💕
Hi there! Greetings from UK! Nice to meet you guys, love your boat! So sorry to hear about your mainsail damaged. We have no experience in fixing damaged sail either so well done for trying! I wouldn't know what to do!
Congratulations on your first offshore journey. Looks like it was great sailing. I noticed your bowsprit looks like it needs some luv fwd of the anchor windlass. Hopefully that will stay safe. Enjoying your videos.
Neat boat--what kind is it? The beefy doghouse looks well suited for the Northern Pacific, and it looks like you also have decent engine access. Mad respect for turning that tuna into such an appetizing sushi spread!
Thanks Eric! She is a Fraser 36, same hull as an Endurance 35. The dodger was great to have on this trip down it kept us warm and out of the elements with the full enclosure :)
Because of the high cost of medical insurance and general unwelcoming vibe toward transient boaters I'm considering trying the BC to Ensenada passage in one straight shot without landing in the USA, did you have problems with people trying to get you to move out of anchorages? Mind sharing your medical insurance costs? Thanks for sharing your adventure. I like how your humour doesn't seem forced.
Hello! We definitely did not feel any sort of hostility or unwelcoming vibe from border officials or locals while sailing through the US. If anything it was the opposite. We checked in at Port Angeles, and the agents were extremely friendly and helpful. Some anchorages have a maximum amount of days you can stay and that is just to limit people squatting there. I think the trip would be much more enjoyable stopping along the way IMO. You would also need a very big weather window to go direct to Ensenada which can be hard to find but doable! We met some other cruisers who planned to go direct to Ensenada but ended up having to stop twice due to weather. As far as medical insurance we used “World Nomads” and specified that we are “sailing outside of coastal waters” for 2 people it was roughly $900 CAD for 3 months but it depends on your age and health status! Luckily we had no claims to submit but it was nice to have the peace of mind :) All in all our experience was very positive and we also had similar concerns to yours in mind before leaving but we had a pleasant experience :) don’t miss out on the beauty of West Coast of the US 🐬☀️🐬
Not hating at all, just a food safety tip. All sushi is hard frozen to kill off any parasites that wouldn't be killed by the lack of cooking. Stay safe and have fun.
Hi! The fish was frozen for 9 days before we ate it. There are large gaps in this timeline that aren’t shown once it’s edited. Thanks for watching out for us though! 🍣😊
I hope she finally did something rather than just talk. Why isn’t she out there setting sails? There are two of you sailing, what if he is injured? What are you going to do on watch, call him up every time you need to do something? Take the initiative, get to work!
Yet another great adventure video for the books! Beautiful! S & D ⛵️😘❤️
Thank you 😊
Magnificent! And I love your attitude, above all. Calm, composed, confident, cheerful, enthusiastic and optimistic - the only way to be.
Thank you 😊😊
I found my new favorite sailing channel! Entertaining to watch and great to follow along, great work! I look forward to your next episode!
Aw that is so great to hear!! Thanks so much, we can't wait to post more videos :)
You read my mind! I’ll be watching here too, it’s relaxing instead of being stressful!
Awesome. Waters are warm down here!
Oh yeah! Looking forward to getting further south :)
Great video 🤙
Yay!! I was waiting for this day! Nice work dudes!
Thank you 🥺❣️
Liked and subscribed. Keep the winds in your sails, water on your keel, and drink in your cups.
Thanks, Darren!! :)

@Sabrina I love the show. At 9:04 when you prepare the sushi, what's in the bowl? Do you have a recipe? It looks creamy and amazing.
Love the video! I'm glad we get to see some of your travels. Miss you both! 💜💜
